  • wow made me laugh. knew he had to smoke lol

  • I'm sorry, I hate to be that guy, but i don't get the job interview joke. Is it just that he asks something ridiculous of the guy or what? He does that joke a lot and I watch a lot of his stuff and each time I'm confused by that one.

  • @orme96

Well, everything to humour is surprise and you WOULD be surprised if you were the one interviewing Steven Wright, hm? So, yeap, pretty much...just a tricky question for no reason, lol.

  • Love this man!

  • I always love when he cracks a smile every now and then when one of his jokes goes over the audiences head.

  • phaaasssiinnggg issuessssss

  • Thiis guy is one of the few American stand up comedians that can make me laugh out loud, the man's a legend !

  • @adrienneposta He's also Canadien

  • @wpollnow Sorry that make's it one of the few Canadian stand up comedians that can make laugh out loud, that makes him a Canadian legend !

  • @wpollnow No, he isn't. He grew up in Massachusettes, born in NYC. Not everyone in "Canadian Bacon" was Canadian. In fact, as far as I know only John Candy and Dan Aykroyd.

  • His one liners are hilarious

  • top notch

  • Wait a second isn't this the guy from Half-Baked?

  • This guy reminds me a lot of Mitch Hedberg. I kind of like him more.

  • Man, his timing was really off on this one. I wonder if he was feeling okay...

  • THE GUY ON THE COUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Terrible audience.

  • DUDE this was mitch hedberg's #1 influence

  • @awesomexBATHROOM where'd you learn this? :)

  • dry as a carpet

  • i feel he'd be the guy where when you opened the bathroom door to piss, hed be wearing a scuba suit and acting like Tom Green in freddy got fingered

  • She said ah forget it then.lol

  • I watch this in the shower, school and my grandmas all the time

  • So boring, but so funny.

  • Genius.

  • I bought a life size map of the united states. 1 mile= 1 mile

  • "I want to go skydiving sometime before i die... ... ... just not RIGHT before..." - that's one of mine. I got more posted on my channel.

  • LMAO!!!!!

  • LMAO!!!!!!!!!

  • Tough crowd lol.. Must of been somewhere north.

  • That was The Partridge Family's "Doesn't Somebody Want to be Wanted?", followed by Edison Lighthouse's "Love Grows where my Rosemary Goes" as K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70's weekend just keeps on... truckin'.

  • Holy ass, don't watch this video with head phones. The stereo is uncomfortably off.

  • Genious!

  • Hey it's the Guy on the couch lol

  • @Kevbro180 the guy!

  • This guy is awesome!!!! I've not heard comedy in this form (is there more?) but I guess I'm just happy to have learned about it =D

-btw, Dane Cook is greatness (moreso his mid-career stuff).

  • @Sobingent Todd Bary, the late Mitch hedberg, Anthony Jeselnick

and to some extent Mike Birbiglia are all influenced in their work

    by Mr.Wright.

  • @SobingDeath

oh, so you mean the stuff louis c.k. wrote?

  • If you dont know how to smile. Hurry there is still time to backspace.

  • That's the exact same backdrop Eddie Izzard used in his Hysteria show! Check it out its on youtube

  • Top comment is someone arguing whether or not he is a funny comedian. So I'm assuming there's a debate raging further down screen about whether this guy is funny or not. Now I'm pissed off, trying to watch the clip and at the same time thinking, who goes to a clip of a comedian they don't like and then tells everybody they don't like it? If you dont like it, just find something you do like. You're not gonna change someones taste in comedy and their sense of humour by leaving a comment on youtube

  • That would be a great show if Hedberg hadn't died in 2005...

  • I think steven wright and mitch hedburg should do a show together XD

  • @JRUJR that would be great if Mitch was alive.

  • @MisterTownsend should have done*

  • Hall and Oates is pretty chill though

  • sure i saw this on c4

i tried folding my bed back into a sofa almost broke both my arms ,its not one of those type of beds... is genius

  • I actually discovered this guy on that show Becker.

  • whats another word for a thesaurus?

  • Steven was around waaaaaay before mitch.

  • is he just like mitch hedberg or is mitch hedberg just like him?

  • @3lannister he has been doing this way before mitch so mitch is like him.

  • I have an uncle, he`s weird, he has false legs, but real feet!

  • @gary72carol61 that was bad.

  • @LordHines420

Lol, but steven wright said that in one of his routines

  • @gary72carol61 even worse.

  • Great!!!!!!!

  • "Sponges grow in the ocean.... that kills me..." (audience laughs) he shakes head "I wonder how much higher the ocean would be if they didn't" indication that the audience is stupid because they jumped the punch line.

  • This guy rocks! So funny! (you have to actually have brains to get the humor) Dane Cook and other comedians just like to curse and think it's funny...not this guy. Good stuff.

  • The audience didn't laugh at one of his best jokes. "If you shoot a mime, do you have to use a silencer?" That's funny!

  • @VikefanTony I was thinking the same thing and steven looked shocked that he didn't get one laugh!

  • @VikefanTony I remember the first time I heard that, I used it all the time!!!

  • @VikefanTony Maybe they couldn't make out what he said. Wouldn't be surprised.

  • thanks.

  • You have to have a taste for his kind of comedy. In reality, it is genius, and makes you think. One of my favs is what he said about the shin bone, its only function is to find furniture in the dark.

  • I can't wear my best shirt, I've lost a button hole.

  • a bit too straightforward, mostly just oxymorons

  • I bought some powdered water...but I couldn't figure out what to add.

  • @rltuthill That joke popping into my head is what made me search YouTube for him today. :-D

  • long time fan maybe his off the wall style is suited to certain people not all

  • Dane Cook is a joke.

  • @astar334 No. If he was a joke, he'd be funny.

  • @astar334 Why does everyone hate Dane Cook? Please clue me in because I really honestly dont know why everyone including other comedians eally dislike Dane Cook?

  • @Shi7Disc0 He's not clever. He doesn't tell jokes. He just yells, the audience eats it up, he gets hugely popular while genuinely talented comedians don't.

  • @Shi7Disc0 he's not funny. He's an OK actor, and a nice guy- just not a good comedian. Agree people take this 'fuck dane cook' and 'fuck justin beiber' thing too far- morons sitting on their ass while these guys are working hard/making something of their lives- i have respect for cook, but i can't say i've ever found anything he's ever said funny.

  • @rohitrez Can't agree. Easily the funniest comedian EVER.

  • @Shi7Disc0 Some people feel like he's overrated

  • @astar334 Dane Cook is a faggot.

  • i appreciate Dane Cook and all that he has accomplished. However, given the choice between him and Steven Wright i would take Wright every time. His type of comedy makes me laugh so hard that i cry. I love the whole thing. I laugh at his jokes even when i hear the same one twice. A true master of comedy.

  • Paradox

  • Anyone else try to listen to this with headphones and couldn't because the stereo is completely screwed?

  • @LibertyAtYourService yeah chcked my hed phonze several time stupid audio

  • he played "the guy" in half baked

  • Steven Wright is funny as He££! He's not repeating anything, it's just you're watching him in different markets!

  • Found this guy referenced on sickipedia, glad I checked him out, totally funny :)

  • 3:45 - 4:15 !!!!!!!!!

  • he's repeating stuff....

  • @rohitmango All comedians repeat material. On tour, comedians - like a band - play the same set most every night. You don't fault a band for playing hits from their first album - then why fault the comedian? To create, test and hone 15 minutes of new material can take as long as a year. Mixing past material (that you know was A+ work) with your new material makes it easier to try the latter with confidence. Should it fail to make the audience laugh, you've mingled it with stuff that will.

  • @TheLeroyMoon yeah ok im not pointing fingers or anything. i like this guy. i was just makin an observation.... well explained btw! cheers!

  • Steven Wright is either naturally hilarious, insane, or hilarious because he's insane. Whatever it is, he makes it work!

  • zach galafinakis bit this guys whole style!!! hes still funy tho.

  • Cordless extension cord. :P

  • Bleh.

  • One of the most amazing comedians of all-time....

  • He's so genius

  • Signed, "The Guy on the couch"

  • :D aww...im a bit disappointed that he uses the same jokes over and over, but he's seriously the most clever comedian ive ever seen <3

  • Steven wright, I know you read these comments on your videos. Please add your own comments to spice things up a little... Many thanks Nic..

  • I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be if that didn't happen.

  • Sponges grow in the ocean..........

    Random. :P

  • One of the funniest comedians ever.

  • Totally hilarious. I remember seeing Steven on HBO when I was in high school in the 80's. I laughed my ass off then and sstill do toay!!!

  • He is brilliant. Sad when audiences, such as this, aren't savvy enough to comprehend much of it. Sort of like Celine Dion singing to Marlee Matlin -- wasted breath.

  • dry sense of humour.

  • I agree with that, the crowd were bad, you could see in Steven's face he felt he was heckled by the silence.

  • Brilliant

  • Love Steven! He does make one think.

  • i love steven wright

  • What I love about him is how it actually takes some time to acclimate to the point of comedy, yet I laugh anyway even though I don't know why. Then when I realize what he's going for it becomes even funnier lmao.

  • the best !

  • @gottchem3 you suck

  • @dpiddy022 Really clever. That's why you think he's so funny.

  • @gottchem3 You just don't understand his humor then. It's very dry which is why it's hilarious, the crowd was terrible. I've seen this guy live and he's so amazing.

  • @everyone, thank you for clearing it up that is in fact steven wright who voiced K. Billy, i understood after the first few replies, no further clarification is necessary. Thank you again.

     sincerely, bombersmrz

  • I think it would be great for him to be the narrative voice for ALL our cinematic trailers for the future. "Its a great movie..well i don't think so...but, shit...watch it anyways."

  • wait, is this the guy who voiced the DJ from K. Billy's Super Sounds of the Seventies from Reservoir Dogs? It sounds a lot like him.

  • @bombersmrz yes

  • @bombersmrz Yes, it's him

  • @bombersmrz Indeed, this is him!

  • @bombersmrz Yep, that's him alright.

  • "Thanks"

  • those contradicting pharses always get me.

  • This dude is awesome. He's like dimetri martin turned up to eleven.

  • I think if youre stupid enough to be affected by what some demented 14 year old fat friendless fuckwit in his moms basement who thinks his opinion means something, then you should switch your computer off. These idiot trolls just watch things and then insult it just to annoy people. Sorry, but some people are really too fucking stupid to comment. . . . oh, and Steven Wright is the BEST !!

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE this guy! And am proud to say I own and enjoy watching his "When the Leaves Blow Away" movie. Thanks for posting this. This is an especially fun performance.

  • @ USMCMarine,

The reason why they didn't laugh is because they didn't get it.

It's the same reaction I always get when I tell people that I'm going to court because I've been selected for jury duty. Then I go into the 6,000 ants dressed up as rice and robbed a chinese restaurant joke that SW did on his I Have A Pony LP. Nobody laughs for me either.

  • @scotty88hh NO SENSE OF HUMOR!

  • @platolol my sense of humour is too intellegent for this dim-wit comdey.

  • @scotty88hh

actually his comedy is very smart a true genius when it comes to stand up comedy. he can make ppl laugh hard as hell with only a few words to tell - meanwhile many others have to work their asses off to get the same effect on ppl + they curse when they speak, cuz they're too lame to make a joke without the help of curse words + their jokes are 100 times longer b4 gettin to the point.

but sure not everyone shares the same sense of humor, just wanted to get off my mind ;)

  • @ChainsmokingPothead well said dude!

  • @ChainsmokingPothead Youmiss there's nothing wrong with curse words.

  • @VayMasters nope, but more ppl can enjoy it if it's not with curse words, and that's a fact.

  • @ChainsmokingPothead

so your argument is, whoever can make people laugh sooner is a better comic? not making people laugh for different reasons, one liners are funny, but there's a lot more work involved in story telling which a lot of comics find comfortable structure in

  • @ChainsmokingPothead i totally agree! i hate when comedians use so many frigging curses to make things funny and/or even more innapropriate, steven wright is a straight up genious

  • @Caveman5014 So what about a comic who tells the most offensive jokes but doesn't curse? Would you listen to him?

  • @ChainsmokingPothead Mitch Hedberg was pretty good at it too

  • @scotty88hh apparently not. He's one of the most successful comics in American history. Just stick to your Dane Cook crap.

  • @platolol fuck dane cook and fuck steven wright.

  • @scotty88hh RAWR!

  • @scotty88hh fuck you too

  • @platolol

Lawl, I feel really bad now. 'Cause I like Steve Wright and Dane Cook

    (Y)

  • @scotty88hh hey, mr. intelligent, its comedy, not comdey....

  • @scotty88hh Hey, Mr. Intelligent. It's intelligent, not intellegent. Get firefox, it makes morons like you looks smart with it's spell checker.

  • @platolol its*

  • @AwesomeMacGee oh geez....

  • @scotty88hh lol what does intelligence have to do with comedy?

  • @scotty88hh YOU. WILL. NEVER. MATTER. STEVEN. WRIGHT. ALWAYS. WILL.

  • @Gumbyrearygood right, whixch is why hes just oh so famous.

Dry humour is not funny, end of story.

  • @scotty88hh Yeah, because the level of fame someone has is a reliable indicator of the quality of their work. Ask Nickelback, Hall and Oates, Dane Cook, Jay Leno etc.

  • @scotty88hh - your opinion is asinine, end of story......

  • This crowd sucks

  • "if you shoot a mime should you use a silencer?" and then nobody laughed.

brutal. was worth at least a small laugh, they completely went silent.

I like how Hedberg deals with that situation though, "That joke was dumb, im aware of that" recovery.

  • some good new ones

  • steven wright, mitch hedberg and russell peters are the best stand up comedian I think.

  • @ChainsmokingPothead uh, bill hicks...

  • hahaha!!! as if the audience didnt laugh when he said if u shoot a mime should u use a silencer haha!!

  • @anglec

    Look for Dimitri Martin

  • I'm ashamed to say I just discovered for myself Mitch Hedberg. I was completely floored, he's genius. After doing more research on him I came across Steven Wright and now I'm blown away again. He's a genius. I recognized his voice, he was the one that played the DJ in Reservoir Dogs and the turtle in the Swan Princess :)

Well, better late than never I guess. I love them!

  • There's a handful of comedians that are basically philosophical psychologists. I guess that's all a comedian is. Someone who fucks with peoples heads while trying to reveal some deeper meaning, even if that means there is no real meaning at all.

  • genius.

  • Steven Wright 1, Mitch Hedberg Sucks!

  • @trbluth1219 he was good, but then he died :(

  • i like what he did at 2:00. he found a
