My horse Savvy has a scar on his side due to being very badly kicked when he was a foal. You can see the hoof shape. It doesn't effect him in any way, he isn't sensitive at all on or around it. It used to bother me SO much! I eventually got over it. It's kinda fitting that he has a little battle scar and he has a pirate name. :P But what a lovely mare she is!!! So pretty! She couldn't be in a better place! and plz don't cut her mane! a cast iron comb and datangler is a much better alternative!<3

she is absolutely gorgeous! when i first saw the scar i flinched, but then again, it makes her look all tough and scary, but she seems like a sweet horse.
@Bhukshine noo dont cut it!!! my sisters shetland does that to his mane but far worse, just use a comb and pull it apart, take awhile but looks better after ;)

@Bhukshine I did. I personally, think that's not a very nice thing to say to someone. You never know if someone has a headache, or maybe is partially blind and can't see or read...or is just sick with a cold and skipped over or is deaf while watching your video's. It wouldn't really hurt you to just quickly add the information, would it? I'm sorry but you lost my vote I'm sorry for asking, my mistake.
Lovely mare, it's a shame about that scar though. My gelding got a nasty cut himself, only needed 8 stitches but he was lucky because it went deep but it didn't go deep enough to do a ton of damage. Best of luck with her, she seems like a very curious and energetic horse :)

I love her already (and not just because she's a sister of Satin and Corajay). She seems to have an air of being different. But that's just the vibe I got from a 3 minute video of her xD I really can't wait to see you work with her and see what she becomes with some work and TLC, even though she doesn't seem to be in THAT bad of shape outside of her old injuries and not being broke at 6 years old. If she's anything like her brothers, I think we can expect great things!

So yes, she will be a pleasure horse, but that doesn't mean she'll just be a horse that only knows go, turn, stop and holds her head up in the air. She will know how to float, how to go through water, how to hold herself nicely under saddle. I'll take her over some poles and some easy jumps, I'll even take her to some local shows, I really don't care what people will say about her scar.
haha! when you said, "bay mare is her name!" it totally reminded me that the previous owner of my bay quarter horse mare (he didn't know ANYTHING about horses) didn't have a name for her, but on her papers it says bay mare close to the name so he thought that was her name and called her bay mare until we finally named her lori after him. his name was larry haha

Haha, I love her too :) She is always either excited, or really, really, really excited! Her only emotion is excitement haha. She is very inconsistent. She can be dramatic and fizzy and can't stand still, yet she's so quiet and never spooks or bucks or rears... She's a very special little unit
I have a little 13.2 pony called spot ,we rescued him, He had a broken jaw from the previous owners, it was all wonky too D:, he wasnt in any pain. After about a year of really good feed, and being looked after, it started to get normal on it's own, that will probably do that too:D
Yes I plan to treat her no differently then I would another horse, unless advised upon a vet that she will have to be ridden bitless. Let's face it, she won't be an olympic eventer or a show horse, but she could have an even more important job of just being somebody's reliable riding horse and best friend
It seems like a very old injury, and it doesn't cause her any pain. However she really doesn't like being pulled on the head by the lead rope, and I didn't like the way the rope halter fitted her so I bought her a new nylon halter. She is booked in to visit a horse hospital to have them check her teeth and jaw, I will know after that is she will need to be a bitless horse or not. But it doesn't effect her eating, she is very fat!

She was pushed through a narrow gate by another horse, or something along those lines. She got caught on the latch and it tore her side open, it needed 160+ stitches. Thank you, she is already improving :)

Yes I plan to treat her no differently then I would another horse, unless advised upon a vet that she will have to be ridden bitless. Let's face it, she won't be an olympic eventer or a show horse, but she could have an even more important job of just being somebody's reliable riding horse and best friend

It seems like a very old injury, and it doesn't cause her any pain. However she really doesn't like being pulled on the head by the lead rope, and I didn't like the way the rope halter fitted her so I bought her a new nylon halter. She is booked in to visit a horse hospital to have them check her teeth and jaw, I will know after that is she will need to be a bitless horse or not. But it doesn't effect her eating, she is very fat!

She was pushed through a narrow gate by another horse, or something along those lines. She got caught on the latch and it tore her side open, it needed 160+ stitches. Thank you, she is already improving :)
