In order: Smurfs, He-man, Transformers, Visionaries, G.I. Joe, Dungeons & Dragons, Ghostbusters, Thundercats, Smurfs, Captain Planet.

And If you switched to channel 14, you could watch The Mask, Gummi Bears, Dark Wing Duck, She-ra, Astroboy, TMNT, Teddy Ruxpin, around the same time. Truely the GOLDEN AGE of cartoons.

  • Brings back memories

  • Description now amended to show cartoons in order of appearance.

  • Thank You!

  • Good summary of 80s cartoons, if kids nowadays wanted to see what their parents liked.

  • What cartoon is this?..

  • AHHHH the memories, shows our childhood produced better stuff than the politically correct rubbish of today

  • well I could have done without the towlie "get high" quote but... still a cool montage.

  • Yeah that guy did some stuff on the rocky 4 soundtrack. Quality video.

  • What's funny.. is that 95% of those cartoons were made by Japanese animations studios, some of them are outright dubbed anime series from the mid to late 70's some from the early 80's.

"Robotech" was not the "first" anime on US as many assume...

  • Can anybody write the names of all cartoons, recognize so many but don't know the name of all the ones

  • sounds like some of dicolas work, am i wrong?

  • correct, Vince DiCola, geek musician and master of 80's keyboard music including Transformers soundtrack... maybe Rocky aswell

  • @parkinpants Transformers was composed by Anne Bryant and Ford Kinder. Both musically and lyrically. I've met Anne in person and I do not recall her ever talking about Vince DiCola working on Transformers, but she might have hired him. I don't recall seeing his name in the credits.

  • @zangazoo2007 - He definitely did. Just google it. I've even got an interview with him talking about the music he did for the Movie.

  • @parkinpants Was he just in the TF Movie, or is he credited in the series too? :-)

  • @zangazoo2007 - just the movie as far as I am aware

  • @parkinpants Okay that would make sense because it was a bigger production. And I know that Anne worked with a couple other people when she did the music for Jem (besides Ford Kinder). :-)

  • @zangazoo2007 - In fact you can see youtube has identified the soundtrack as Vince Dicola and has linked it to iTunes where it list the other tracks he did for the movie

  • @parkinpants Yeah I did notice that, but I had thought it wasn't accurate. YouTube seems to be inaccurate since Google took it over, but that's my thought.

  • m 30 now and all them vids just made me fell old god i miss my childhoo i reammber all them thnaks for the trip back ;)

  • very cool. What song is that?

  • It's called "Escape" from the TF Movie Soundtrack

  • I recognise allot of these old cartoons but some of them in the begining I didn't recognise...

  • You actually made me regret growing up lol. I could name every single one of those cartoons, damn great memories!
