  • THANK You for posting this. I LOVE this song!!!!

<3 feeling it in my soul <3

  • Testament to a true work of art and culture, passion and humanity, that this has no dislikes...

  • I had this on video tape, but my nephew broke it when he was little. I haven't been able to find it since. Maaan, I wish they would re-release this, I 'd snap it up in a heart up.

  • does anyone know where I can find this (and the other Spike Lee songs) in the highest quality? be it torrent or iTunes Store?

  • @legalyzefreed0m amazon mp3

  • I have seen this song religiously every day since the last 6 months, I love it.

  • I videotaped this from the original show on PBS years ago; I never get tired of watching it, so I'm glad I found it here!

  • Please what is the name of this song that they do?

  • @00tuoyo Phansi Em Godini

  • @00tuoyo its been a year ago that asked the name of tho song by Ladysmith Black Mambazo... it is called "Phansi Em Godini" which means Down in the Mines.

  • thanks from Brasil!!!

  • this group is peng... I love them always!!!

  • This HAS to come out in dvd! The choreography in this one alone, not to mention the Rockapella numbers.... Spike, Debby, PBS, BBC, are you reading these posts? The old VHS tapes've broken... from love! Kids grew up watching this tribute to the human voice blended in harmony. Is anybody listening?

  • thank god i found this song again i thought id lost it for ever after someone stole my mp3 player this is just the best really nice thank you

  • I think that the three singers who danced with the leader were all his brothers. I could be wrong but that's what I think.

  • Not long after this was filmed, the brother of the leader (who is also one of the singers) was murdered by the South African police. He was one of the last martyrs of the anti-aparteid movement.

  • Of COURSE I meant "Take SIX!!" Yikes!!!

  • To be more specific, this was a PBS "Great Performances" program from 1990 called "Do It A-Cappella", hosted by Spike Lee and Debbie Allen. I taped it at the time, and this was my favorite number on the show. (Also LOVE Take 5 and their beautifully sophisticated Jazzy style). Thank you "vicentealt" for posting it, and thank God for Y.T.!!!

  • they are from South Africa. i remember watching this special on PBS as a child and begging my mother to buy the tape. i still have it on VHS.

  • where are these guys from? Nigeria, Liberia, South Africa, Tanzania, Where?

  • Probably Southern Africa. Ive heard West African music enough to know that it is not West African music.

  • They're from South Africa.

  • thank you for providing these videos! i've been searching for a long time for this particular video. it seems like no one is selling it anymore. thank you thank you!

  • I adore this group, their joy and voices just fill a room!!
