look how fuckin shit the defense is. these players can never do that in the way football is played today. Today's football defending is much much better than those days
The goal is perfect in that, the ball came from the back, a Brazilian outskilled 4 players, and then Pele played the ball out to his captain without looking, it was inch perfect, and was rifled home in style. Quality.
Es importante que no es solo el gol perfecto, sino que tambien es el equipo perfecto, donde todos participan y hacen conjunto por el bien comun!!!!!!!!
Brazil will always be sick and that's a fact there just skillful and the problem now is that they had there golden players all retire at the same time leaving all the young player yeah lucio and family alves and kaka are there but lucio I highly doubt will play the 2014 world cup because of age but I'm sure they'll be great we'll just see.
everyone saying brazil is now dead! watch by the time world cup is in there back yard 2014 the likes of - Neymar, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Ramiers, Lucas, Ganso will be ringing in your ears... and thats me not even mentioning the experinced kaka robinho daniel alves and co.
The difference between players today and the olden days is players back then didn't really have a favoured foot and they wouldn't complain to referees about decisions not going their way.
I could watch this for hours. The build up play is effortless, Pele's layoff is simple and brilliant, and the strike is pure joy to watch. Clever, beautiful football.
Two years ago I found Zidane and Rivelino in a match against poverty in Brazil. A friend of mine said to them that they were old and didnt have the same speed. Then, Riva told: '' Only bad players run. To play a nice soccer you have to use the intelligence. Passing and positioning correctly avoid running without necessity ''.
Old players could play easily nowadays with their perfect techniche (Zidane is an example of a player that used mind instead of running).
As good a goal as this is, I can't help feeling a lot of the hype surrounding it is more down to nostalgia. I love watching and reading about classic football matches, goals, teams, players, etc. And I agree that the Brazilian team of 1970 was pretty much as good as they come. But I think in today's football, that would simply be seen as a very good play and great teamwork, but definitely not "the perfect goal" or "the best goal ever". I still think it's a great goal though.
You are incorrect. The fact that today it is faster does not mean it used to be slow. Brazil was just too good and could play at their own pace. Besides, today it is all about strength and speed. Brazil performed art on the field. CR is good, but not remotely at the same level as the Brazilians of 1970 or 1982.
@MrSergiomarulanda Late reply, but yeah. Brazil are just completely in-control of every match. It's like Spain or Barcelona today. They can make the game there own, and play everything at there own pace.
Not remotely on the same level? First of all, professional soccer back in the 70's was in it's infancy. Defenders were made bafoons of. That type of artistry would not be accepted so easily by some of todays defenders. Not say that they werent great back then, they made what they wanted to... but cristiano does as well against the fastest, most powerful, trained backs in the world. to say not remotely is stretching it and not taking into account how GOOD backs are today

Apparently, football used to be played very slowly. The footballers seem as if they were walking rather than running. Todays Cristino Ronaldo, by himself, can cope up with both Brasil and Italy, i guess.

This goal is an example of why Pele was so superior to that "Hand of God" ego guy... who does not have a single video in which he has an assist.
