    Pulp Fiction.

  • @Goldfrappe yup pretty much soon after i wrote the comment it came to me :D

  • @mrshef666 Yes. "Pulp Fiction" in the scene with Uma Thurman & John Travolta at Jack Rabbit Slim's chatting in the booth. This was playing in the background.

  • @kylebook Actually it's ''Rumble'' who's playing in the Jack Rabbit's Scene and not Ace of Spades.

  • how is it that Madonna and Metallica are in the R & R Hall of Fame and ...............?

  • This is brilliant music... you can here echos of this in The Cramps (well more than echos the took the riff) ...Echo and the Bunnymen and all thats great about rock and roll ...try listening to the Buff medways or The Musicians of the British Empire .... Oh and also the Sonics , yeah the sonics.!

    H3.

  • is it just me or this song sounds surfish

  • Not the original 45rpm version, but still good!

  • That is such a great song!

  • Thanks for putting this up! I love the way the original rockers got the reverb and tremolo without the efx pedals and all that.

  • What movie is the painting in the video made up from? cus its sick

  • @erik13rocker Sick in what way?

  • @Hipshot1 think erik13 means sick like as in the picture is good.

  • @Hipshot1 i think he means sick as in bad (as in good)

  • @Hipshot1 The painting in the video looks like it's from the book series Morgan Kane Look it up in wikipedia: Morganm Kane

  • @Hipshot1 Pretty sure he means it is bad ass, or to gay it down: a really neat poster.

  • @Hipshot1 its another way of saying its awesome :D

  • he means cool!

  • @Hipshot1 - 4now 'sick' is slang 4 -cool, wild, off 'da hook, etc. -like this rockin' instr.song. dig.

  • @Hipshot1

I'm sure he means "sick" in the sense of being outstandingly great.

  • @Hipshot1 In a good way, I believe.

  • @Hipshot1 im sure he meant sick as in cool because its pretty bad... as in bad @ss!

  • @Hipshot1 Sick as in fucking awesome.

  • @Hipshot1 Can you tell me where you got this picture from? I would like to use it for something.

  • @Hipshot1 He means to say that it is really cool and he wants to find the artwork himself.

    As do I.

.....And yes, I agree with him, it is sick.

  • @erik13rocker do a" clint eastwood western" google image search..may be him .

  • @erik13rocker Agree!! The good, The bad, and The ugly!! Clint Eastwood circa 1968!! Your welcome!!

  • @erik13rocker i think its clint eastwood most likely in one of the dollars trilogy movies.

  • @erik13rocker i beleive it is clint eastwood....not eaxactly sure what movie.....please forgive my spellingi am drunk lol

  • @akennelly1120

That's hardly an excuse for bad spelling- now retype that post ! ; )

  • @erik13rocker just in case no one has answered this----isn't it a movie ad for a 1960s Clint Eastwood "Spaghetti Western"?

  • @erik13rocker dirty harry?

  • @erik13rocker Its from the movie "Dirty Harry" with Clint Eastwood. You know, where he's all the time saying "You've got to ask yourselve the question: Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?"

  • @williamakoekje Harry had a long barreled .44 mag, this shows a snub nose .38. Doesnt match if it's Eastwood.

  • @overbrookXXX Isn't it just becouse of the perspective that the barrel looks shorter? The guy definitely looks like Clintwood.

  • @erik13rocker

    my guess is Coogan's Bluff.

  • @erik13rocker Clint Eastwood, I think one of the epic trilogy, The Good, the bad and the ugly, Hang em high or For a fist full of dollars. (If you haven't seen these, you gotta catch em, kinda Tarantino, before Tarantino was outta school.

  • @erik13rocker its clint eastwood, from the western trilogy of good the bad and the ugly, fistful of dollars and 12 dollars more. fantasticly cool films you must watch!

ive just discovered this guy after reading about powerchords and the song rumble, and im really hooked - been listening all day instead of revising, its nice when you find something really fresh just as all your current music is beginning to bore you

  • Link Wray is just pure rock and roll.

  • Ace of Spade and Rumble are both in the Jack Rabbit Slims scene from Pulp Fiction. Ace of Spade is first then Rumble comes on at the akward silence part

  • shit yes its got a face! and it dont lok happy.....

  • no matter what version of a song you hear from him, old or newer, it rocks. that's really rare.

  • Hipshot 1: Could you upload the original 45 rpm version on Swan records?

  • this is also in pulp fiction on the jukebox in jack rabbit slims

  • @makky123 im pretty sure that was Rumble

  • @makky123 that's where most of us first heard it i think...i remember it was murder trying to figure out the name of this song.

  • @mikexlong yes you are right, my first heard was in that sceane on Pulp Fiction Film.

  • Comment removed

  • @makky123 nope. the track you're referring to is 'rumble'

  • @nealrogers999 During the conversation between Mia and Vincent you can hear it in the background.

  • @makky123 ok thanks for correcting me. it's not listed on the soundtrack. i'll listen out for it next time i watch it.

  • Comment removed

  • oh my gosh, yes! lolol

  • Then it's our sick imagination =:o)#

  • @StrummerLivesxxx it looks like it has a face dude!!! hahaha xD nice trip

  • @StrummerLivesxxx -First thing I noticed,that gun's in a bad mood.

No wonder, guns sometimes have a life of their own.. ©

    I see things and faces,

in the strangest of places •

  • @PAULLONDEN You'd be pretty upset if bullets were coming out of your forehead, too.

  • White tash power!!!!

  • Cool!

  • Link Wray was someone who made me proud to be Indian amongst everything else in our culture.

  • Cool Inidian! I mean you and Link ;o)#

  • Nothing against Indians or any kind of people by the way.

  • along with les paul link helped to make the electric guitar into the weapon of choice for 2 generations-

later hendrix carried the batton forward and there are also some great virtuosos like leo kottke whos' album "guitar music" is great as is "burnt lips"- steve hackett was amazing for early genesis circa 71-73 and jimmy page and rainer ptacek and eddie cochran -and of course lots of old hardly ever acclaimed blues men from the 1930's lightnin' hopkins and john lee hooker and many like them

  • Now THIS is rock'n'roll.

  • Isnt that Rockabilly or Surf Music? :)

  • This is just Wray's raw soul blended with his talent. It shouldn't be classified as a TYPE of music. But it is definately ROCK music if it can be defined.

  • Comment removed

  • did someone put a thumbs down on my compliment to Link Wray? that person should be banned. Link Wray is too good to be hated!

  • this one made my day :)

  • At the time this came out, it had no definition. It was just "Link Wray" white trash, hillbilly rock and roll. Violent, big cars, V-8's, pedal to the metal rollin down the dixie highway to the Redneck Riviera to see Elvis. Drinkin white lightnin.

  • Wish these times were back.... todays music is pointless... it is all about the image, violence, money etc.

  • Good points..but I find Link Wray's music very violent. It's pure destruction and sexual throbbing. Destructive and constructive at the same time. That's what's so bloody great about it mate! Also posing is the heart of white trash culture (big hair/pink cadillacs). The Punks tried to revive Wray's vibe (Check out "No Fun" by the Pistols - or "Loose" by The Stooges or early NY Dolls / Johnny Thunders did a great job until they self destructed. You can hear Wray in U2. The Edge is a Wray clone.

  • But you could see the violence in the music, not in the image and video clips...

that wrays bloody music was terrific...

  • anyone know what movie this is in?

i have a feeling its fear and loathing in las vegas or something

  • Comment removed

  • hmm i can't understand why someone would give my comment a negative feedback for guessing the wrong fim? Must be a die-hard pulp fiction fan or something :S

  • this is probably correct

  • This is a version recorded in late 1965, at least the 3rd time Link had it committed to wax. Nothing beats the 1963 original, which was the follow-up to Jack the Ripper, and sadly couldn't even bubble under.

All 3 versions I know are great.

BTW, it's "Ace of Spade" (singular).

  • I believe it was on the '62 recording "Great Guitar Hits" and also on "Jack The Ripper" LP in '63.

    And it is "Spades" :-)

  • Cool post.

    Lets just call a spade a. . . spades?

  • anyone know where I can buy this recording?

the iTunes version is different and not quite as good as this performance...

  • Epic!

  • Surf Music of sorts. Garage bands went off in the 60's, I am not calling Link garage band, but...

  • do you guys see the devil's face in the gun? just under the barrel? the good the bad and the ugly.

  • dude thats an early style colt, thats how they all look, there no devil, what your seeing is the cylinder and the trigger guard formering your so called "devil"

  • No but I see satan every time Obumble is on TV. LOL

  • this track+weed=win

  • @Zynche your gonna love growing up....

  • @Zynche this track+weed+gta4 = mega win

  • @Zynche any music accented with weed is better music-LOL

  • that sixties style rhythm in the backround is repetive but i totally love the lead

  • In my country people use to say...

    "In simplicity is the beauty"

and so this song is :)

I love that 50s 60s style... Surf forever!

  • to me, it's like real rock. no words, no fancy anything. just feel....

  • This song rocks.....

  • Linkk Rules
