Also the cyclists are not only assholes for blocking all lanes, they are assholes for blocking traffic just because they want to make a point. They drive around the road without wanting to get from A to B - while the people behind them (be they on motorcycles, bicycles in cars or buses) can't get wherever they want to go in normal speed.

I'm sorry for all the people hurt and in no way what that driver did is excusable, but you have to understand something: when you block an intersection for half an hour and taunt drivers, spit on their cars, insult them like I've seen here in my city, someone is going to lose their cool. I ride my bike regularly and would never take part of such a demonstration. If you want to save the planet, just do it, but don't force others to think like you do, it works against your cause.

The nub of the matter. Motorists don't give a fig for other people's time, motorist or not. This sounds like you are attempting to justify why motorists should bully cyclists - because they can. The VW Golf Mk6 has between 59 and 199 kW engine power, that's 843 to 2843 times the power output of a cyclist 70 Watts, travelling at 10 mph / 16 kmh.

Little wonder that maniac managed to carve a route through the cyclists. Drivers need psychological tests for suitability.

Regarding jams. If motorists would treat cyclists as their friends, rather than as enemies, then there would soon be more cyclists, and instead of being more congestion, there would be much less and it would be easier to park. I can drive and cycle, but I choose to cycle. If I and every other cyclist were to drive instead, there would be many more cars on the road and fewer available parking spaces at YOUR destination.

The basic traffic rules are defined by an international treaty under the authority of the United Nations, the 1968 Vienna Convention on Road Traffic. Brazil is a part of this.

As a general rule, drivers may overtake (another road user) when it is safe. If it had been a couple of trucks blocking his way, this man would simply have injured or possibly killed himself. Wouldn't that have been a pity? As it was, he used his car as a weapon and attempted mass murder.
