I am a Catholic with conservative views and this song does not offend me a single bit. Depending on the interpretation, this song could very well be a pro-Christian song, for the lyrics do not indicate any disadain towards Christianity. The only difference is that if a Christian finds these lyrics enjoyable, he is called a biggot and yet when people listen to Manowar nobody seems to have a problem.

@c1k4ml3kc3 couple things...the term "crusader" covers a lot of fighting and religious orders...more than just the guys with the lovely red crosses on the white background. So...to be more specific, the surviving Knights Templar fled to Switzerland, and formed the banking society, after the great purge of 1308. As for the red cross...those guys came along hundreds of years later, and im pretty sure they have nothing to do w/ Templars :) rock on mate \m/

If you perceive christianity as a philospohical concept and let's say way of life, then this is Christian. Christ was among many things a critic also, and I doubt he would support any war in his name. @c1k4ml3kc3 couple things...the term "crusader" covers a lot of fighting and religious orders...more than just the guys with the lovely red crosses on the white background. So...to be more specific, the surviving Knights Templar fled to Switzerland, and formed the banking society, after the great purge of 1308. As for the red cross...those guys came along hundreds of years later, and im pretty sure they have nothing to do w/ Templars :) rock on mate \m/

@arrowisb The connection between red cross and crusaders is, first of all - flag. Most of Crusaders had Red Cross on them. Coincidental? Most of templars fled to Swiss parts when they were prosecuted. Most of them were giving fortunes to build a lot of churches, temples ect. I don't think that they have nothing to do with red cross organisation. Not all of crusaders were "bad", only 10% of all crusaders were fighting, actually. Rest had a free border pass and ability to do "in the name of god"..

I myself am a pagan and i do not hold much love for any of the big religions, but being an atheist is just sad... thinking that there is nothing after death, just sad. i bet you people fear death as much as possible while people who hold some faith in whatever god (however they decide to call him) are not so scared because they know that its not the end, and they have some ideals. and this world would be a bloody mess if there were not people with ideals.

I think everyone SHOULD be scared of death. Or at least people who have a good amount of life left in them. I'm afraid of death for one reason only. Is there or is there not anything after it? There is no proof to prove either count so i choose to live my life melding other religion's ideas to give myself a cocktail of mixed religions to suit the way i think. I believe that's the best way to go about life rather than following strict rules created by others. Remember. Judge yourself, not others

Lyrics are very Christian actually. Probably more Christian than any church. It all depends on your perception of Christianity. If you perceive christianity as a philospohical concept and let's say way of life, then this is Christian. Christ was among many things a critic also, and I doubt he would support any war in his name. On the other hand, if you perceive Christianity as 'going-to-church-on-sunday' activity and paying tribute to your priest then this is definitely not christian.
