  • Why did he almost dime the bass? I think the amp sounds best when controls are close to 12' oclock adjust presence to taste. I NEVER touch the mid or bass knobs, they stay at 12 lol

  • @adamdevo i always have bass at 7, mids at 8, treble at 3 and presence at like 7. sounds like modern thrash then. check those setting out. btw, contour on.

  • i got pissed right when he dropped the mids and cranked the treble....THATS NOT METAL!!!! I play in a fuckin death metal band and i crank the hell out of my mids and keep the treble low enough to wear it sounds good but isnt harsh. This guy just got owned by a 17 year old in tone...how sad.

  • @wxp24 you cant believe how right you are!

  • @givemeajackson lol i hate it when people scoop their amps and call it "brutal" when the most brutal guitar tones out there are loaded with mids. people just dont realize cuz if you dont use a lot of mids then your ears arent used to that frequency (you naturally only hear high and low frequencies) so they think it sounds like shit and super muddy when in all reality thats where the brutal wall of sound tone comes from...of course mixed with a decent bottom end.

  • @wxp24 mid scoop means bedroom player imo. it sounds fat if you're playing for yourself, but as soon you play with a band you get drowned out. and as soon as you use your mids a lot you realize that it sounds way better with them than without. i personally think that the sound gets a lot meatier and way more crushing with mids on 7-10. there are amps tough that really suck with a lot of mids, but ENGL is all about mids. what amp do you use?

  • @givemeajackson as of now i use a b52 at100, with a boost and eq to really tighten it up. soon ill upgrade to a peavey xxx, and about $4500 later ill buy an engl se670 lol

  • @wxp24 i have the one above, and i love it! had a smoking deal, 750 bucks used. i have a xxx cabinet, it's quite good. played the se few times, it sounds massive, but i think it's overpriced. a victor smolski powerball or invader sound exactly as awesome. i even liked the invader a tad better. but man 4500 bucks? where do they charge such a ridiculous price for that amp? costs about 1000 bucks less in sitzerland, and all stuff is shit expensive here!

  • @givemeajackson 4500 USD haha. And the reason I say that price, is its including a footswitch and tax. Also, around the us, its HARD AS HELL to find a used engl at a price thats worth buying it used, IF YOU CAN EVEN FIND IT USED.

  • @wxp24 hm, i feel lucky to live in europe.

  • @givemeajackson haha theres its ups and downs for amps wherever you live

  • This guy have no clue what he is doing! The sound suck all the way thru the clip! If he wanna see some amps, he coulden do a worse demo!!! Im not getting one now cus of this bad video!

  • why the fuck does he have to make the sound scooped when playing heavy, it destroys this amps tone.

  • this dude sucks! he can't even make a demo....

  • nothing in this clip sounds even close to richie, right ?

  • @MYTUBEISAPUSSY right

  • @MYTUBEISAPUSSY this amp does neither. the 4th channel is uber brutal!

  • i went this shop when i was in Frankfurt. They were very kind...

  • Great amp. Beautiful, fat clean and semi-overdriven tones and tons of additional gain if you need it. 4 channel moster

  • Comment removed

  • Hallo Stimme!!!!!!!! HALLO???????

  • Gotta love that signature Engl bark it has.

  • we have that engl in our rehearsal room with a marshall 1960 lead cabinet. sounds awesome.

  • Hallo,

mag eure Testclips.

    Danke

    Dominik

  • stop being jealous of this guy! :S

  • this tone sucks in my opinion

I like the Steve Morse ENGL much more

  • n demo mit ner strat wär in meinen augen passender gewesen (zumal man eh net versteht, was der redet)

  • Why can't they learn English!!!?

  • @GameKid98 it's a german shop and they want to speak to GERMANS!

  • @VKzGibson Well, i guess that under half the views are german

  • @GameKid98

And i don't think, someone from USA buy some amps from Germany ;)

  • At 4:55, even at low volumes, it sounds really nice but not sure which cab it's hooked up to. Nonetheless, the Blackmore is an underrated amp as all believe it's only designed for classic rock...not so.

  • come on, this is the Ritchtie Blackmore's signature amp!! you should be testing it with a strat!!!!!

  • i´m sure this guy don´t know richie blackmore

  • ich hab jetzt so n dingen. ;)

  • is the 2x12 or 4x12?

  • @Jumpfruit

    Danke

  • holy shit powerfull tone!!!!!!!!!

  • I have a blackmore. Very versatile amp. However not the best for really brutal metal. It lacks the deep saturation, but makes up for it with great voicing.

  • Hey dude,

I'm thinking of buying either the Blackmore or the Savage. I play power metal like Dream Evil but love real clear metal sounds without being too mushy. Would you still recommend the Blackmore and also, does it sound good at low volumes???

    Thanks

  • Yes I would recommend it, However, it is based on the Savage so anything the Blackmore can do, the Savage can do better. At least that's what I thought when I was demoing the amps. If you can afford it, I'd go with the Savage with a Decimator in the loop (and yes, it needs it). But if not, then the Blackmore will work well too. As for low volume, not so much. It sounds fine, but it lacks the tone and tube growl when turned below 1. And it is LOUD.

  • Ok thanks for that, I think it will have to be the Savage after all. Thanks

  • @5150VanAlien you can buy my ENGL Savage it's mint, I'd like to get $2000 for it.

  • blackmore wanted something simple, a plug&play amp without too much knobs, they took the savage, stripped it down. eays like 1,2,3 :)

  • @damaged01 what do you mean with deep saturation? the gain or so?

  • i want it for christmass XD but i have a question... its not a real 4 chanell amp after all so it means that i have to press 2 buttons on the pedal board if i want from clean to hi gain? Or with the Z5 pedal i can controll every single channel with one separate button? And how much does affect the sound of the channels the shared EQ?

  • Z5 foot switch allows you to change between the 4 channels by pressing one button only. Shared eq works quite well on this amp, once you set eq to match the cab/guitar/overall volume. I use the contour button on the z5 which changes the eq for solos and single notes, etc, and find that i end up using one clean and one dirty ch for live playing, rarely use all 4 ch. Ps: this vid does not really do this amp justice, I wasn't impressed. Check out some other vids.

  • Any 1 got ENGL Blackmore sig. slow hand motion limited edition?? Its equipped with 6l6 GC. I got that amp and its really ql, but i dont know any sick settings yet... so if any 1 have it to, pls tell me :D

  • sad that the Signature 150 is no longer built :(

  • I want to live in that room!

  • Practise, then make your music, then hope that we like it, then play it in a world tour, get a sponsor with Engl and if everything is normal, you will have the same room at the end of your life.

  • I think It will be easier to just make the money to by them all

  • You'll have to make room for me too dude...but I know what you mean...:-)

  • C'mon, this is not a demo! You play only metal riffs with an Ibanez.... please use a tuner at least!

  • Well, people know of Engl as a high end company of high gain amplifiers. And be glad he doesn't only play death metal riffs and tune his guitar to Dropped Ab down 8 octaves.

  • I know Engl are first class amplifiers, and they works not only for metal. I really like Engl in general, but I don't like the demo, so what? This ampli is a lot more versatile than shown here.

  • @ugouthi it would be helpful to understand german, before criticizing. the video should only be a short presentation and no analysis, if you want to analyze it, you should go to the store! apart from that he extra underlined, especially for people like you, that he only could present some functions

  • @V3eroZ Anyway, these sounds are not a good presentation for this good ampli. Peace and music!

  • @ugouthi cause the kid talking and playing there is a noob :D

  • hey, its funny that you downvoted my comment ,when i said "learn another language" it was in response to the moron who said"speak english" he said it to the reviewer.

we are here to hear the tone, its alright if we can't understand the reviewer but i guess the tones speaks louder then words ))

  • He does but being that he is in a German shop there is no reason to do so.

    MfG ;)

  • moderne mainstream kacke schon

hör mal n bisschen tech death, dort hörst dus nicht

  • ok zu teuer -.-

  • Hi, das ist ne Ibanez RG 1820 X. Ab Steg sitzt ein Evolution, am Hals ein Paf Joe.

  • welche ibanez ist das ?? selbst zusammen gebaut ??
