  • One great myth is that if the debt deal were not to pass, the United States would automatically default on its debt. If the deal had not passed, Obama would have to decide which bills to pay and which not to pay. It would be HIS decision whether the US would default on its loans or not.

  • Obama is a loser. Sorry, but he is NO leader. He is getting run over. What a pussy.

  • @Muzzy337: Do you mean you think he's democrat? Before the '08 election I knew he was a Fundamentalist Capitalist put in place with the help of Wall St. He's delivering what his bosses want - money redistributed from the working class to the corporate elite. He might not want all the other sociopathic policies republicans want but he's certainly enlarged the gray area between dem & repub. At least now people should be able to see the demipublican plan - use big issues for publicity & do ....

  • @Muzzy337 ...basically the same thing as each other while we fight over the topic of the month. Every administration since Reagan has more or less followed the Wall St. plan of stripping away rights while putting us further in debt through sneaky financial "products" put out by con men in suits telling us what we desire & convincing us it was our idea. Then, we see we have too much to lose if we smarten up & try to quit the rat race. Remember: in the rat race, only the rats win.

  • RealNews gets it wrong again. These cuts are illusory and only reductions in BASELINE INCREASES. We will still spend more than last year and the trend will continue. The network news theatrics that you're propagating here are magnificant, though.

  • Republicans voted the debt ceiling to be raised many times when conservative presidents were in office, and reagan even raised taxes. Why are they so opposed to both ideas now? They claim it´s because they´re sticking to their principles and such, but the truth is they want control of the economy, i.e. getting sarah palin or michelle bachmann elected. Don´t be fooled, they came dangerously close to wrecking the economy a few days ago, and made it seem like Obama´s fault. Don´t fall for it.

  • Who voted against raising the debt ceiling?

95 Democrats and 66 Republicans exactly - voted against the bill

The US credit rating was downgraded because the bill didn't contain enough cuts.

  • @vechorik Reducing debt Is a hard pill for those who spread tax payers dollars around for a living to swallow.

  • Thanks for the double-dip US politicians.

  • Debt deal a republiCON policy. Isn't it the republiCON policies that got us here? Boehner got 98% of what he wanted even though he is leader of a little more than one half of one third of the administration. Why? Hey Boehner! Where are the jobs? Remember this next time you blow off voting, elections have consequences.

  • everything will be on the table my ass!

  • what is left to cut?! seriously. our country is hobbling along. these are not entitlement programs, let's stop calling them that. they are income inequality payoffs. we need more of them! tax the rich!!!!!

  • @shanestar

Sooo..... if you have an A in a class and i have an F... your going to give me your points so we both have C's? If so, why would either of us work any harder?

  • So, let me get this straight, the world is going bankrupt, whatever the fuck that means, because of this thing called debt, which doesnt even exist in the physicial reality, its only part of a game we've invented, and yet the well being of billions of people is now being compromised, intense layoffs, tense cities, accelerating poverty, schools shutting down, child hunger, all because of this elaborate fiction...what are we fucking stupid?

  • slashing the defense budget, ending these ridiculous wars, closing unnecessary military bases, eliminating corporate tax loopholes and forcing companies to bring jobs back to america through law would have solved america's financial problems

  • MORTGAGE-BACKED SECURITIES WHICH HAS ZERO INCOME STREAM IS IN THE BOOKS OF ALL THE BIG BANKS AND FOREIGN INVESTORS WHO GOT SCAMMED BY WALL STREET. SO EVERYTIME THESE SECURITIES MATURE AND HAVE TO BE PAID, MORE BAILOUTS AND QE1 TO INFINITY IS NEEDED - THUS THE NEED FOR SUPER CONGRESS SO NO QUESTIONS ALLOWED FROM THE PEOPLE JUST MORE BAILOUTS AND MORE AUSTERITY MEASURES AND BUDGET CUTS TO KEEP THE BANKRUPT SYSTEM FROM COLLAPSING. WHAT A FRAUD? GLASS STEGALL WILLEND THIS FRAUD. LIVE OR DIE

  • THE OPPOSITION MUST ALL UNITE NOW BECAUSE THE EMPIRE'S STRATEGY IS TO DIVIDE AND CONQUER THE OPPOSITIONS. GOOD MILITARY LEADERS, GOOD POLICEMEN PROTECT THE GOOD LEADERS OF THE WORLD. GOOD CITIZENS PROTECT THE US CONSTITUTION. DO NOT CONCEDE TO THIS SUPER CONGRESS WHICH IS NOTHING BUT A GROUP OF SUPREME CRONIES BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE EMPIRE TO ENSLAVE THE PEOPLE AND THEIR GENERATIONS FOR LIFE. WAKE UP AND ORGANIZE UNITE UNDER ONE UMBRELLA - GLASS-STEGALL AND THE LAROUCHE PLAN IS THE SOLUTION

  • LYNDON LAROUCHE, WESLEY TARPLEY, MARCY KAPTUR, JANET TAVAKOLI , JOHN PERKINS ARE ALL SMART AND HONEST LEADERS WHO EXPOSES THE FRAUD THAT THE CORRUPT POLICITIANS IN WASHINGTON AND WALL STREET BANKS AND LONDON BANKS, IMF/WORLD BANKS. • LIES AND MORE LIES FROM OBAMA -WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL INTENT? GO BACK TO THE US CONSTITUTION AND THE PREAMBLE EMBEDDED UPON IT. THE DEBT CEILING DEBATE IS A TOTAL FRAUD. AND NOW A SUPER CONGRESS? ITS MORE LIKE THE SUPREME CRONIES. OBAMA VETOS GLASS-STEGALL WHICH IS CONSIDERED AN ACT OF WAR BY LONDON & ITS INTERNATIONAL NETWORKS OF BANKS. PEOPLE WILL DIE FROM THIS $2.5 TRILLION AND MORE CUTS BY NOV23RD. DICTATORSHIP IS JUST SHUT UP AND BOW DOWN TO SLAVERY. THIS IS THE END OF USA AND HUMANITY.

  • you dont create jobs by spending, you create jobs by cutting taxes

  • @MrAstonfan Nah, you just let companies and people keep more money. There is no incentive to create jobs in cutting taxes. The reality is that jobs are being created in other countries and not in the USA. The Young Turks did a piece on the Bush tax cuts: watch?v=rm7VJ5domZc&feature=channel_video_title

  • everything is getting worse. somebody give america some good news, quick! this is all doom and gloom and scary as hell lol

  • Downsizing companies went out in the 90's now the US is downsizing the country. Unemployed, sick and under-educated will be the the first to go, just let them die in the gutters. The US is going to have beggars living in the streets spreading diseases leading to plagues.

    Have another cup of tea.

  • Surprise surprise, the poorest, the old and the sick take the cuts, the fat cats stay fat and the military spendfest goes on. It's too little too late and ridiculous to think that level of debt can be tackled without reversing tax cuts for the rich. It's a deal for rich campaign fund contributors not the people.

  • I find it disturbing that so many people STILL believe that President Obama is stupid, weak or ineffectual. Since the 2008 campaign, I've known he's working for Wall St. and I'm not that smart. I just pay attention and don't fall for mainstream media tricks. I saw that Robert Rubin (Goldman Sachs) & Larry Summers (World Bank, helped dump Glass-Steagle Act during Clinton) were in his inner circle - among others - and knew he wouldn't be elected unless he was in league with our masters. Wake up!!!

  • "This man-made crisis was entirely avoidable. The Democrats could have raised the ceiling last December. They chose not to, handing a sword to their adversaries. Senate majority leader Harry Reid wanted to force the incoming Republicans to accept some responsibility for the increase. We’ve seen how that worked out. If Obama genuinely believed that the Republicans would cooperate because it was the right and responsible thing to do, then naïveté was the least of his mistakes." -William Galston

  • Obama did not tax on rich people of companies under Mr. Bush Tax break. Bail out for bank and companies and wars. Steal Social Security to pay for bail out and wars. STOP steal social Security

  • if its fuck me then its fuck you.

  • stop the war and u save alot of money, so the deal is to borrow more yeah thats a Good deal, i see a water fall up ahead.

  • stupid libtards

  • California is bankrupt. But, if we stop providing free welfare services and free educations to illegal aliens, budget will not only balance but will have surplus. If we add all the savings from city, county, state, the amount will be astronomical. Who is government serving these days? Asking for sacrifice on citizens but not for illegal aliens don't make sense. And it is insulting when President say in Hispanic TV that illegal aliens have equal right .

  • Ferguson is affiliated with Soros and writes for the Huffington Post. His reputation is nil.

  • what if general motors needs more money?.

  • I was hoping some social security cuts would be shaved off, it is sad they were not. It is very unfortunate that it is not so much about making a powerful country but fulfilling an eugenicists dream of removing the "stupid" people from the country by exterminating them. Josef Megele highlights the mentality of our leadership when he says "The feeble-minded person ('village idiot') was separated from farmers because of his social status and low income", then he says technology is the enemy.

  • When the dollar collapses, just look for cars with Obama stickers parked in front of affluent homes!

These people will most likely be unarmed & willing to give their shit up if you tell them it's for the greater good!

    Ron Paul 2012!

  • The Rich and the Corporations have two parties. We, the people, have none.

  • Why are people surprised? The Democrats had historically always been bipartisan in their protection of the rich elites and ensuring that the wealth disparity remains exactly how it is. They are passionate imperialists who have always supported military interventions, and have always supported the tax breaks for the elites.

They are not liberals, they are establishment conservatives. No U.S. politician is a liberal, that is beyond naive to think they could be. They represent the empire.

  • ~Republican$ voted 7 times to raise the DEBT CEILING under Bush JR. & 18 TIMES under REAGAN. BUSH JR. put us in not 1 but 2 MONEY LAUNDERING WARS. Their GOAL is NOT to balance the budget BUT to keep Obama from getting re-elected. What is DISTURBING is the extent they are willing to go. If the USA defaults the economy will essentailly come to a halt. It's predicted that 1/2 MILLION ADDITIONAL JOBS WILL THEN BE LOST..WHAT THE REPUBLICANS ARE DOING IS NOT ONLY CRIMINAL BUT TREASONOUS.

  • he dose seem like its all about CUTS i think Obama was a fake democrat now.

  • Having been born of one tax revolt , the U$ seems to be dying of another. There is an exquisite irony in this.

  • someone has to stand up to obhama in the next election......

  • So, I voted for Obama, not because I thought he was the Messiah, but because I liked the things he said he would do, like tax the rich and end the wars. He hasn't done anything, and I'm really not buying this "I don't have any choice" bullshit.

  • Obama's just doing exactly what he set out to do...

    None of this is serendipitous.

  • "Social Security does not add to the deficit." Someone fire this guy, please.

    factcheck. org/2011/02/democrats-deny-social-securitys-red-ink/

  • @sonnybrown Ferguson is not a Democrat. That link has about 1/3 of the story right. SS SURPLUS goes back the treasury in exchange for bonds, the surplus goes to fund the rest of the fed gov. Just look up this guys work (Ferguson), or dean bakers. Ferguson worked for the CBO, Annenburg Public Policy didn't.

  • @hippydog123 I'll take your word on Ferguson. My point wasn't really that he was a "democrat" denying this, but that it's a common statement from people like him. If it doesn't add to the deficit, why did Obama say repeatedly that he could not promise SS checks would go out Aug 2nd if the ceiling wasn't raised? I mean, we have a surplus right? In government Bonds though. Not treasury bonds. Boo.

  • @sonnybrown @hippydog123 agreed, Definitely boo! Tell me what you think of this short article; "From New Deal To Raw Deal: The Real Economics Of Cutting Social Security" It answers a lot of these questions. Yeah man its cool you take my word. However man if you have free time you can Google that guy too. I think there is even a Wiki regarding Ferg. Good stuff sonny!

  • @hippydog123 I have major issues with this view. First it names the downturn as "unseeable" by those who claim deficit problems. What was Ron and all Austrian economics screaming about in 07? Economic collapse. Second, they seem to think that everything is A OK because they don't have to deal with the problem with SS now. It's the kids problem, is basically what I'm hearing. That's not a good way to think is it? In my opinion, the baby boomer generation has failed us miserably. Spoiled brats.

  • @sonnybrown I think you might be assuming somethings about the view. Ferguson didn't think the collapse was unseeble. He saw the budget BS coming in the fall semester last year. He also like dean baker predicted the collapse. (just for different reasons then the austrians Economics) If I am reading the article closely enough it seems they are saying "they don't have to deal with the problem with SS now" they are saying its not a problem. (or a minnow to use the language from the article)

  • @sonnybrown The baby boomers; It does feel that way. Why or how do you think they failed us? I hesitate to blame them because i think the problems are structural and need structural solutions. (the structural problems to me came about during the baby boomer period, but i don't think the government cares that much about what "the people" or baby boomers say anyway. ) Thanks for responding man.

  • Obama should join the GOP.

He is useless for the American people.

  • I know how to lower the debt. How about leaving those countries that no one wants you in? I'm talking about Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Libya. Perhaps stop giving money away to Israel?

  • “This is a guy who has just not delivered on anything he promised the people who elected him.” Tom Ferguson

  • @patrickcorliss

    Correct.

Obama is a lying cheater. He should join the LIE PIG li CON party!

  • @patrickcorliss Obama doesnt have the power to overrule 500 polititians and business men of power.

  • No one wants to attempt an intelligent resonse to my question? I think its a pretty simple question, although I understand that these things aern't always that simple. but realy what is stopping us from reinacting Clintons debt reduction plan? Why wont it work now as appossed to just 13/14 years ago?

  • If we could duplicate what Clinton accomplished, we would have a budget surplus whitch would provide enough money to improve our health care. So again I ask, Why cant we just do what Clinton did?

  • @lastritesread We have different understanding. It must be understood that the govt. doesn't require of itself what it required of public-traded companies in regard to long-term liabilities. If that were changed, we wouldn't have had a balanced budget at any point in many decades.

Also, the Fed under Greenspan had created the dotcom with easy credit/low rates. It created an ephemeral prosperity. The phony credit flowed and everyone felt richer for a while. Tax revenues swelled, then it popped.

  • @joepeeler34 I will admit that I dont understand all the ins and outs of the deficit or how the Government keeps its books as opposed to how I keep mine. All I do know is that while Clinton was President there was work to be to had, the middle class was growing, and people were happy.

Are you saying that Clinton actualy started what we are experiencing now?

  • @lastritesread Sure, but were those jobs sustainable or were they the result of a credit bubble of central bank creation. Many of those jobs were dependent on cheap money/artificially low interest rates. A boom can ensue if interest rates are kept low enough long enough. It distorts the economy. Labor and material resources are misallocated.

Interest rates should be driven by the supply of savings and the demand for credit. Bubbles send false signals and the conditions aren't real.

  • @joepeeler34 Excellent post

  • @lastritesread I'm glad you point out that you don't know the ins and outs. Lots of people pretend they do. But, you should take that into account when people like Clinton are given credit for things that really aren't their work. Sure he was in office at the time, but do you remember the tech boom? That wasn't his doing. That was a market bubble. And it gave large revenue to the federal government.

  • The tonal remodulation that Obama represented, epitomized by the mantra CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN, was in hindsight a TOTAL FRAUD. These people think they can continually deceive the body politic by LOOKING and SOUNDING like one thing and ACTING in diametrically opposed fashion; realities gotten TOO RAW to allow for that game. 9/11 was a staged event perpetrated by THIS GOVERNMENT.

  • I have a simple question. Why cant we just go back to what Clinton did when he was in office? He not only managed to balance the budget but he took a huge deficit and by the time he was done we were in a surplus, and there were jobs everywhere, so again why cant we just copy what Clinton did?

  • Republican WIN - Obama FAIL

  • @spakuloid Nobody "wins" with this except interest factions feeding at the trough for a short while longer.

There are no real cuts. Govt. spending is set to go up by 7% a year under the plan. The make-believe cuts are reductions in the CBO's baseline of projected spending increases. This adds trillions of dollars in debt.

There are only cuts if spending is frozen then spending is reduced from that frozen spending baseline.

This a charade that is insulting to the American people.

  • @joepeeler34 I agree with you - BUT - this is clearly a win for Repubs because once again they have stifled Obama and proved him publicly incompetent as a leader. So while the policy is horrific for us plebs - and it is fuck all terrible - it is a win for Republicans who give up nothing in this. No new taxes = Republican WIN. There it is. Obama is DONE.

  • @spakuloid I don't have any use for party tribalism. Besides, deficits are just delayed taxation. This deal adds many trillions in debt--delayed taxes in other words.

The parties are nearly identical. Most of these plans are a joke. They do nothing to cut our empire overseas. It doesn't address corporate welfare or entitlements.

The worst tax of all is the stealth tax of inflation. Govt. has been monetizing its debts for awhile. It will accelerate. Double-digit inflation tax is coming.

  • @spakuloid Yes, Obama is done. Unfortunately so is our nation.

  • The good Ol' USofA is falling apart..It's almost here folks...what are you going to do with your ipod,,jersey shore watching, dumb downed American asses then????

  • Dis-manteling 'regulatory' will fix the budget.

The ‘regulatory /police’ is very dangerous and must be dismantled around the world locally by locals, but locals must first understand how and why they are being ‘corralled’.

'Federal Regulatory', 'Federal Police State' 'Federal IRS' the elite will control your transactions/savings/investments, movements, health/records, property usage, what you drive, who you talk to, what you watch or listen to, eat and drink, even monitoring your trash.

  • Does it surprise you that there were no increases made in taxes on the wealthy? These politicians are part of that group. Why would they willingly accept a cut to their incomes?

  • you lost my vote obama.

  • Amarica on the way to selfdestruction. Nice.

Obama is obviously incompetent or a tool of the bankerster elite.

Maybe he really gets his commands from the people at the Bilderberg conference?

Becomes more and more a possibility. But more likely they all are moronic underachievers who live on a very different planet.

  • Hand the bankers their money back and print your own american treasury notes!

No need to lend from any banker. Every nation can print it's own. Make it a 2/3 majority legislation. Problem solved. And take the money out of bankers hands.

  • One thing is for sure if we are poor and living on Social Security. We are in real trouble. And all the Rich want from us is our money! The words that come to mind out Doomed and Abused. We are *ucked thats the word that seems to fit in this note. But I am pure and can not say it.

  • wanna stimulate the economy..? arrest, try, and hang the treasonous gov't, seize their assets (they've taken in bribes) and divide it up between legal US taxpayers.. globalism is treason and will be our doom if we don't remove these traitors from office.. we need to undo what has been done in the past 40 yrs.. no SS Card, go home..

  • Americans are the least-taxed nation on Earth. Do they realize this? Did they follow the "made in the USA" campaign in the '80s? Did they care when the last shoe manufacturer closed in the US? Has anyone stayed out of debt enough or saved enough in the US to start a real, useful mfg business? Hey, I had to leave the US to get healthcare years ago, & I warned everyone they'd better get their safety nets & valid passports in order, get another citizenship! I did & am still American.

  • @slobomotion You've got to be kidding. A lot of the figures that you see for foreign citizens are only at the national level. They aren't including all the state and local taxes in many instances. You also aren't including the hidden tax of inflation. Deficits are just delayed taxation. Have you seen our deficits (delayed taxation) recently?

Even if the rest of the world actually did have higher taxes, what would that prove? All governments overtax.

  • @joepeeler34 Yup, and the waste and corruption is what irks me. Pork barrel! I do know statistics, they are in my work and educational bg, I am a trained analyst. You are right, it is hard to crunch the numbers and calculate what the actual costs are. Americans have to pay so much for healthcare it totally skews everything! I started saving 20 bucks a week in the USA in '78 and started accumulating gold in '83. I never earned more than 25K a year a few times. People LAUGHED at me!

  • check out Economy In Crisis (dot) org for more about this preposterous debt deal

  • as much as we need to raise the debt ceiling we def need to raise taxes and most good hardworking americans have no prob paying their fair share well except the rich they say they cant function on the 50mill they would have left over after a tax increasewhere did the dems balls go?

  • No one, I repeat, no one should be taxed more to cover the spending of an out -of -control government! As always the taxing will start with the rich then spread to everyone.

  • @rctube1958 Well alot of tax spending is taxbreaks for corporations and wealthy...so you kind of have to remove those!

  • What deal???

Raising the debt ceiling is not a fucking democrat issue... it's a fucking American issue for both sides.

    Fucking hell

He's not giving his side shit!!

Primary! and get his weak ass out of office for fuck sake.

This president has been the most Disappointing Dem president.

He's not a progressive, he fucking admitted it when he referred to Progressives as "you progressives".

    He's a fucking shill

    He's a failure

and I never want a republican.. but damn it, he fucking sucks!

  • It was not a show for the people,it was posturing for corperate America. They want us fighting in the streets for scraps, which would put a target on our backs and give them an excuse for ML.

  • Lets just walk up to Capitol Hill with a couple of million out of Work out in the Streets and what ever comes to mind kind of folks and Start Throwing these bums out of the White House with the exception of the few Like Mr. Sanders and Mr. Kucinich and the good ones left OUT ON THEIR ASSES! Backed up with an Army of a Million or More we would get the job done and it Will Come to This sooner than you think. Thanks Mr. Jay for the Great Reporting with Mr. Ferfuson. Excellent report.

  • The defense/military/homeland security and prison budgets will not be touched, I can guarantee it. Too much corruption and too much malaise amongst the population.

  • Obama is a joke.

  • Fraud.. predatory loans, packaged and securitized into mortgage backed securities and CDO's, most of which robo signed, credit rating agency knowingly gave BS ratings to junk securities, then sold by banks knowing they were junk to hedge funds who trusted the ratings. Banks knowing they were junk took out insurance on same securities understanding imminent implosion. Banks take tax payer money for bailout, fed takes BS balance off banks balance sheet at 100%. Printing=dollar collapse=hidden tax.

  • @phuketdoidoi Sure, that was part of the problem, but those things only changed the composition of who held the toxic debt when the credit bubble burst. Where did the phony credit come from to blow up the bubble?

The Federal Reserve created the credit bubble with its cheap money/artificially low interest rates. Collectivized risk and Freddie/Fannie and other govt. programs made it even worse.

All market actors are mislead and many behave badly in the middle of a bubble. FED created the bubble.

  • Great interview! So if Obama is challenged in a primary, who would it be? Dennis the menace?

  • Obama's the best Republican president in my lifetime. Primary him to force him to the left.

  • This confirms what Peter Joseph talks about in the movies Zeitgeist. Politicians are only there to maintain status quo. They can't do shit coz they have no knowledge how to and in this case they were not aloud to do anything. What we need is professional people with certain skills like tech, economy and so on. What we have here is the wolf watching over the henhouse. There will NEVER be any change this way. Wake up ffs!

  • im an ordinary citizen, and im not suffering one bit from this. if i am suffering, it's because i foolishly relied on the govt.

  • Darkly coloured rainbows...with a pot of poo at the end. I was a big supporter of Obama, but I'm starting to think that a primary challenge might not be such a bad idea. Can't believe it's come to that. :(

  • Your political ass is grass Obama, let's get these traitor dems!

  • "The only difference between the GOP & DEMs is the velocity with which their knees hit the floor when Corporations, Neocons and AIPAC knock at the door."

    - Ralph Nader

  • @kikila007 The only ways a third party president will be elcted is with instant run off voting in every state and the electoral college points, 10 points or more, divided proptionally according to vote totals.

  • i don't think any president would of been able to clean up bush's mess don't be mad at obama...not to mention....if he done anything radicle [aka; for the peopel] he would of been shot...people we have no idea

  • @regularolpoet if that is the case, then the most gallant thing is for him to step down. Is that possible for an american president to step down. Sure he can. And let Joe Biden or Clinton do the job as they are more than half white. How is that for irony and satire?

  • You guys are idiots. You're 15 trillion down the hole and it is "republican" policy to pay your effin' debts off? Get over yourself and your idiotic democratic wonderland wishes, that ruined and continue to ruin the American nation, hand in hand with the republicans.

  • Bullshit.

  • Not only were they not committing to any tax raises, but they were reducing certain ethanol subsidies and SAYING that THAT was "revenue raising". NOT SPENDING MONEY IS NOT AN INCREASE IN REVENUE.

  • Well, this is the worst outcome possible. Now it is put off to November.

  • I'm thinking that at some point even the rich must begin to be unconfortable with the level of unfairness.

Sure, some of them are just money driven psychopaths, but not all!

I mean, you don't get any joy from winning a game thats rigged. And at least some rich people must begin to feel that this has gone too far?

  • @TheSaltyAdmiral Some of the rich ARE uncomfortable with this level of unfairness. Warren Buffet, for example often complains that his secretary pays a far greater proportion of her income in taxes than he does.

  • Huge mistake. PO has no ideas of his own. He'd rather appear "reasonable" and "appeal" to hostage takers than stand as a man on his principles--which he has none.

  • Obama's gonna bomb the shit out of some arab state next year, to show he's not weak and lilly livered, just in time for 2012.

  • We hate to jump to conclusions prior to having all the facts, but judging from how far the White House’s negotiated stance has mysteriously drifted toward the predicted “no revenue” option, a true cynic could surmise the fix was in from the very start.

Face it, Americans got played by the political process and their President

    RetroVision Media' Issues Under Fire

  • LOL... Liberals still think Obama does not want to fight.

He's bought and paid for by Wall Street.... and so are all your other liberal leaders.

Whether you like him or not you need to vote for Ron Paul.... He will take on Wall Street and end the wars... that is change you can believe in.

  • @jjcale1111 You think they will let Ron Paul do what he wants to? They will let him go and wreck welfare and regulations and the EPA and that kind of thing, but when it comes to the military industrial complex, all of a sudden he will not be able to do a thing about it.

  • @dangerouslytalented I honeslty dont know... but for me it is a better bet to than letter Obama or one of his clones on the Repubican side continue this madness.

That said, I think they would kill Ron Paul rather than let him be president... look at what he wants: End the Fed, the CIA and the Drug War and let the insolvent Wall Street banks fail. If he was for only one of those it would guarantee a "trip to Dallas in an open top motorcade" much less the lot.... and I think he knows this.

  • @jjcale1111 Thank you for assisting me to let off a little steam before attempting to write a controlled response. Also, thanks to T. Ferguson for expressing genuine anger. If there is actually anything left of the genuine Democratic Party, they should announce open rebellion against this phony liar in the WH. Better even a Romney or Bachman than to pretend Obama is anything other than a criminal. He belongs in Gitmo with his predecessor.

  • @jjcale1111 As much as I hate to admit it, you have a valid point. However, we've lost faith in the American political process to bother giving more than a $hit anymore.

  • @lbines Yes, the structure has to change. At this point in the empire, we have devolved into an unlimited democracy where power is centralized in D.C. Everything appears to be up for a vote.

I advocate federalism whereby most laws are made at the federal level. We need a return to constitutional precious metal money and to end the Federal Reserve system by slowly phasing it out by introducing private mintage/competition.

A return to a federated, constitional republic would be nice.

  • @t666234 It's the American way. I think they are arrogant instead of gullible however. People who are gullible are usually meak, and can be taught. That is not the case today. Seems like those that still vote for the "one party system" are intent on destroying the Country because their egos either cannot accept the truth, or they refuse to accept the truth.

  • you have no choice. ron paul wishes 911 truth would go away..and if yu think he will cut the FED out of the picture, not. He's part of the illusion..they are all Satanists, period

  • Wow u ppl are really fukin stupid. Go ahead and fool yourselves. Trade one politician for another. SMFH at idiots.

  • Use your "freedom" to tell Ron Paul that we live in 2011 and not in 1850.

  • DEMOCRATS.. If your BEST case scenario is Barack Obama for another 4 years, maybe it's time to consider Ron Paul...

    .

Obama has escalated both wars and dragged us into 3 more. He's passed the BIGGEST military budgets in history...!!!

    .

3 years ago, you Liberals voted for change, do it again. Give Ron Paul a chance.

    .

    WE CAN DO BETTER, PEOPLE.

  • @hob976 Ron Paul is far, far worse. He has some good policies, and some bad policies. However, the System hates his good policies (getting rid of a massive amount of military waste) and loves his bad policies (tax cuts, getting rid of regulations and welfare and so forth). Result: He will be easily able to make a bunch of bad decisions that benefit only the very rich. And by very rich, I don't mean mere millionaires.

  • @dangerouslytalented Exactly. I get so sick of hearing about Ron Paul. He named his son Rand Paul after the speed freak psychopath idolizing nut Ayn Rand. Their entire philosophy is apparently best embodied by a psychopath who kidnapped, murdered and mutilated a little girl for shits, giggles and money. Goggle: +"ayn rand" +psychopath

  • @DrStrangelove666 lol. Nice strawmaning of Rand bro.

  • 450 billion a year good for 300 million americans on medicare/aid.

600 billion a year for your prisons.

Yeah your Gov. has all its prioritys straight.

  • 2 trillion in cuts over the next 10 years, but what does it matter that your adding 7-8 trillion to the deficit. Its all good.

  • EVERYONE GO TO WORK THIS MORNING AND CHANGE YOUR W-2 TO 8 DEPENDANTS. DONT GIVE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ANY MORE OF YOUR MONEY TO SQUANDER.

  • damn, obama really is a trojan horse. brilliant move on behalf of the corporations, disastrous move for the country.

  • You gotta feel sorry for American voters & the political choices they don't have. The ruling oligopoly owns the political system now to the extent that they hardly even try to hide it any more. Obama's a total sell-out for the average citizen; a slick, media friendly spiel merchant who works for the enemies of democracy.

Ralph Nader put it perfectly when he asked just how bad he (Obama) has to be before the Democrats dump him.

The future, my friends, is not looking bright!

  • Just a band aid ,buying some time before the inevitable collapse of the U.S. of A. economy. When they down grade the credit rating , interest rates will sky rocket. All bonds will become junk bonds.

  • October 6th 2011 is the first day of the occupation of Freedom Plaza, Washington DC. Enough is enough!

  • Bipartisan doesn't work when both parties suck. ~_~.

  • @Kooshkff Are people still listening to these guys?

  • Vote independent. Vote small party. Stop letting Obama take your support for granted or he'll just keep slaughtering working people.

  • no military cuts hunh??????

  • No taxes increases? It's okay, our middle class will pay for it.

  • There is no way to deal with the long term deficit without raising taxes.

  • @Uhmu45 A sensible tax on the insanely rich would be some good start.

  • @ONESPECIES

True, but that won't be enough.

  • @Uhmu45 over 60% of the deficit is owed to the american people. might as well give to us in the form of tax cuts.

  • @JackofOneTrade567 Give it to 'us'? When did 'us' become fucking millionaires? What this is is Democrats helping Republicans steal from the little guy and there will be hell to pay for both parties. Wondering where the real American left is? You assholes just woke it up.

  • @NoCommentChick wtf are you talking about? i didn't mention millionaires.

  • Uhmu45 There may be a way. I listened to an interview done by Glenn Beck recently with a spokesman for an automatic financial transaction tax system. Its on YouTube. Sounds too good to be true, and undoubtably there would be obstacles, but it does put an incredibly small burden on all transactions and raises huge revenues.

  • @33115566

The cost of medicare will skyrocket. The only way of dealing with that is reforming the healthcare system and raising taxes. The fact that US spends already more then other industrial country's and gets less healthcare back should be sign that something is wrong. Add to that that the population is ageing and even social security runs out of cash with the current tax level. There is no way around tax raises if the US wants to have healthcare for the elderly.

  • @Uhmu45

Taxes are ridiculously high as it is. Here's an idea: cut spending by getting rid of useless government programs, bring all the troops home and stop empire-building, and stop giving research grants for cow farts. Then as soon as possible, LOWER taxes so people have more money to spend and circulate in the economy. Sales tax should then take care of a lot of national debt. Raising taxes would just cripple the economy and destroy the middle class (which is the workhorse of this country).

  • @Kiithknight

One can cut military spending to 0 and you would still run out of money. The cost of healthcare is going up too fast. Medicaid is the problem. US government size is 20% from gdp. Thats one of the lowest in the developed world. Sweden's tax level is over 50% and they have a huge middle class. Lowering taxes is just keynesian stimulus, but the government needs to pay for things in the long run too.

A flat tax to everyone and a sales tax would do good, i agree with you there.

  • @Uhmu45 Medicaid is the problem? I am sure you can trace the problem to the insurance industry having a tight grip on things... keeping the costs up. Government cannot negotiate drug prices ect.

  • @daveruda

Sorry my slip there. I meant medicare.

  • @Uhmu45

Sure, I can agree to all of that. Sweden's economic policies are much different from ours, though. I think what's killing us is that we think the government should be protector and provider without wanting to give most of what we make to it. Either we need to pay very, very high taxes or we need to provide for ourselves and only have the government as protector. My vote is for the latter, but that seems to be the minority position when it comes down to it.

  • @Kiithknight

To cover basic healthcare to everyone, that does not take very high taxes. The current system is just that flawed and wasteful, that it will drive up the cost exponentially. Tax levels at maximum 25% and a good reform should keep US on a relative low tax level and with basic security for everyone.

  • @Uhmu45

I'd like to see something like 10% flat income tax plus sales taxes, and then let me decide my priorities as far as my own life, including insurance. Health insurance isn't a basic human right - insurance moves risk from you onto someone else, and in exchange you pay them a fee. I don't want to pay for everyone else's bad health choices. There are unfortunate circumstances beyond our control, but that's life; everyone has to be responsible for their self and their families.

  • @Kiithknight

"Health insurance isn't a basic human right" i agree with that, the reason why i support it because it's good for business. If everyone would be covered by heath insurance we would have a more productive economy because people could work for longer; spreading the cost and risk on everyone will just lower the price.Win-win-win situation. Business gets more productive workers, government more revenue due to higher productivity. Its not a argument for you, i understand that, but still.

  • @Uhmu45

That's not necessarily true. I agree with preventative healthcare in that capacity, but healthcare typically means just getting a quick fix (antibiotics, surgery, etc) for a condition that develops, not preventing the condition from developing. While businesses may get healthier workers, their wages will go to paying everyone else's medical bills. That's why I would prefer to take care of myself. And no one is denied emergency medical service, even if they lack insurance.

  • @Kiithknight

That would still leave a major cap. There are many things that aren't easy nor cheap to fix or need lifelong treatment and are unpreventable. How big that cap is and how big of a drag that would be down the line i don't know. That would take a major study to find out.

Preventing a condition from developing is what most of healthcare is about, i don't know, i don't understand how you view healthcare.

  • @Uhmu45

Unfortunately most healthcare is about drugs and surgery. And it's become so commonplace that everyone goes to the doctor for a cough now. Read joepeeler34's response to me - that's my view on healthcare.

  • @Kiithknight We have corporate/socialized medicine, not free market, localized medicine. Check out what Ron Paul proposes to get rid of the corporatist system.

  • @joepeeler34

I know Ron Paul, and while I do support most of his political views, I can't support him for personal reasons. It's unfortunate.

  • @Kiithknight

How do you know that its mainly about drugs and surgery?
