Dude, this video says that pilots have to come in so low because the runway is short, if they came in so low they would get a high Angle Of Attack (AOA) and would therefore need to use more thrust to keep from stalling which at this airport is too dangerous and risky to do. Now think about it, they would come in normal GP (Glide Path) and make a harder contact to the ground, that harder contact will slow the airplane down much faster than if it came in low and fast.
