If you earn $50,000 per year and dont have insurance, expect a $1500 fine per person in your family if you dont have insurance (2.5% fine on income). That violates the constitution and the 10th amendment. You cant force a "living" tax. Too bad these progressives dont understand that!

Why would tax cuts hurt the economy? Because their one very clear effect was to increase the budget deficit. Combined with spending on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and a huge new prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients, the cuts helped drive the annual deficit to a peak of nearly $413 billion in 2004. Last year, it dwindled to $162 billion. But the nation's cumulative debt has nearly doubled since Bush took office and now exceeds $9 trillion.
"If tax cuts aren't paid for, the extra debt hurts the economy more than any direct benefit from the tax cuts," said Jason Furman, a former adviser? to President Bill Clinton who is now at the Brookings Institution. "If you cut taxes without cutting spending, you're just shifting taxes to the future."
There is little disagreement among most economists on that point.
Even the Bush Treasury Department found that failing to cut government spending commensurate with the tax cuts would leave the cuts with a "negligible effect" on the economy, Carroll said.
Because the tax cuts were projected to yield giant budget deficits, they were written to expire in 2010. Bush and other Republicans, including McCain, want to make them permanent, arguing that the specter of higher taxes in 2011 is adding uncertainty to and weakening today's economy.
That move that would deprive the treasury of $2.4 trillion over the next 10 years, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation.
Democrats, including Clinton and Obama, have said they want to keep the social-relief provisions, as well as income tax cuts for households making less than $250,000 a year, to help strengthen the middle class. By taking tax cuts away from the rich, the candidates suggest that they will generate cash that could be spent elsewhere.

Allowing companies to grow into a virtual monopoly means others can't compete and jobs lost, plus somebody suffers debt when a business fails. Virtual monopolies are bad for the economy! @hume12345 He needs to use technology and use some of those TARP FUNDS to hire construction of fences with razor wire, duplicate backup fence a couple miles away with security cameras spotting those that get through the first fence! I believe that security will pay for itself in the amount of health care savings to illegals, prison cost, and loss of taxes because illegals don't pay taxes! Plus, there's a lot of jobs right there! You've got to close the border to help end the recession!

You can keep the health insurance you have. If you don't like the freedom of choice built into this, then take consolation in that the Congressional Budget Office, a non-partisan entity charged with analyzing legislation has predicted that this legislation will reduce the deficit by $1.2 trillion over the next 20 yrs.

As long as the legislation was hypothetical, teabaggers could make all kinds of assertions; and they could use FEAR as a weapon against the American public. Now there can be a discussion about something that is concrete. I'm sure the legislation isn't perfect, but it is certainly an improvement over NO ACTION at all, which by all accounts was not in the public interest.

Anyone earning over $25k/year or more will either have to buy health insurance under this bill, or be fined at least $800. If you earn $50,000 per year and dont have insurance, expect a $1500 fine per person in your family if you dont have insurance (2.5% fine on income). That violates the constitution and the 10th amendment. You cant force a "living" tax. Too bad these progressives dont understand that!

Without doubt a large majority of our Democratic Party representatives in Washington are tainted by corruption, and the liberals among us are supporting the ideologies of progressives with their agendas based on moving our Nation deeper into a socialist form of government. This is a real threat to everything we hold sacred in America, and they are gaining evermore control over our Democratic Party, our Nation, and the American people.

Republicans cry freedom at the expense of a multitude of their fellow American's freedom to have a decent, reliable, living wage job, health care, and not give a damn! They are running policies that turn more and more jobs in America into slave labor and put more Americans in missions, in prisons, and sleeping under bridges! They are heartless! The Democratic Party is closer to the people. More so if you get rid of progressives(AKA pseudo Republicans) spouting conservatism and giving away our jobs! Giving tax cuts because it's politically popular when it runs up the National Debt and cost us jobs and inability to give incentives large enough to raise a blister on a gnat's butt, much less get the economy on it's feet! I criticize Obama for leaving Bush Tax Cuts! That's bad! IT COULDN'T BE MORE RIGHT THAT WE ALL HAVE HEALTH CARE!

Why would tax cuts hurt the economy? Because their one very clear effect was to increase the budget deficit. Combined with spending on the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and a huge new prescription drug benefit for Medicare recipients, the cuts helped drive the annual deficit to a peak of nearly $413 billion in 2004. Last year, it dwindled to $162 billion. But the nation's cumulative debt has nearly doubled since Bush took office and now exceeds $9 trillion.

Warren Buffett said without taking advantage of the exemptions allowed him and all rich people, he pays only 17% of his income while his middle class secretary pays about 20% of hers!
Somehow, you rationalize that as being fair! 10% in America own 90% of the wealth, so it's fair they pay more than 90% of the taxes since they live in great excess while others struggle!
