  • @kalteich I Totally agree

  • No, Ron. MIDNIGHT IS BETTER THAN TWILIGHT. =))

  • Voldemort represents the 1st brother, Snape the 2nd, and Harry the 3rd if you really look at it.

  • This is the best thing I've ever seen in cinema EVER. I hate the HP movies. I'm a huge book fan and I've never been able to really appreciate the movies (not that there seems to be a lot to appreciate except that hottie Rupert Grint) but this scene truly paid homage to the excellent story-telling the books at least provide.

  • gahhhhh i love this

  • could anyone write the lyrics? :)

  • @eleni13bfd there were once 3 brothers traveling along a lonely widly road, at twilight. In time the 3 brothers reached a river too treaserous to pass. But they, learned in the magical arts, simply waved their wands, and made a bridge. Before they could cross however they found their way blocked by a hooded figure. It was Death and he felt cheated, cheated because travellers would normally drown in the river. but Death was cunning, he pretended to congratualate the 3 brothers on theri magic...

  • @eleni13bfd and said that each of them earned a price because of have been clever enough to evade him. The Oldest, asked for a wand more powerfull then any of existence, so Death fashioned him one from a Elder tree that stood nearby. The Second brother decided he wanted to himuliate Death even further so he asked for the power to recall loved once from the grave, so Death popped a stone from the River and offered it to him. So Death finnaly turned to the third brother, a humble man...

  • @eleni13bfd he asked for something that would allow him to go forth from that place and not being followed by death. And so it was that Death reluctenly handed him over his own cloak of invicibility...The first brother travveled to a distant village while with the Elder wand in hand he killed the wizard from which he once quarled.Drunk with the power the Elder wand had given him he pranked with his invicibility, but that night another stole the wand and slit the brothers throath for good messure.

  • @eleni13bfd The second brother travelled to his home where he took the stone and turned it twice in hand, to his delight the girl he once hoped to marry before her untimely death appeared before him. But soon she turned cold and sad because she did not belong in the mortal world, driven mad in hopeless longing the second brother killed himself so to join him. So Death took the second brother. As for the third brother, Death searched for many years but was never able to find him

  • @eleni13bfd only when he attained a great age the youngest brother shud the cloak of invicibility and give it to his son. He vanquided Death as a old friend and went with him gladly and departed this life as equals.

  • I was so pleased with how they did the story in the movie! :D

  • Best fucking story ever

  • @ paradox2776 I agree with you. Midnight is much much MUCH better than twilight.

  • I like how the three brothers even had similar hair to Snape, Voldie, and Harry.

  • @SparklesGoddess ...it is harry's father not him, harry is the son at the end

  • No, Ron was right! midnight sound MUCH better than twilight. twilight just sounds AWFUL! awful awful awful! hehehe

  • I think Dumbledore should be the one who greeted Death like an old friend, as opposed to Harry, who should be the master of death...

  • Emma´s voice :3

  • Wait so is the 3rd brother and death like "cool" like are the ok with eachother?

  • This kinda reminds my of coraline

  • This is bloody amazing!!:D

  • This is true awesome animation

  • This is an amazing story, within an amazing story!

  • Who r the brothers?

wand, stone, n cloak r deathly hallows, huh.

  • the dead looks like the general grevious from star wars but with 2 arms :P

  • @lestatdante grevious has two arms, he's just able to split them making 4 partial arms

  • this story helps me go to sleep at night, it makes me feel happy inside.

  • <3 snape died for love <3

  • I want to see a movie with this animation.

  • amazing.

  • this is actually one of my favorite scenes from the entire harry potter series

  • @MrAlexofMetal couldn't agree more. probably my favourite scene of the deathly hallows parts

  • i dont get why i like this story so much, but its like, so cool haha.

  • Hermione"There was once three brothers who were travelling along a lonely, windening road at twilight-"

    Ron: "Midnight...Mum always said midnight"

    Hermione glares at him:::0:15

    Ron: "Twilight's fine, better actually"

Hermione "Do you ant to read it?"

    Ron: "No, no its fine"

    LOL!!! :-)

  • this is probably the best story within a story I know

  • @popotitos11

Nah, cuz Harry never died, the part of him that contained part of Voldemort's soul died when he was struck the first time so it wouldn't have happened to him

  • Two dislikes from the first two brothers, one dislike from Death himself.

Or, two dislikes from the first two brothers, and one more dislike from Voldemort.

  • @drawingRICH

    Death makes the elder wand.

I think that the part that Death makes it, more important is than the tree:)

  • @Christinalovertje Actually, dumbledore explains in the book that the three brothers most likely created the hallows. This is just a fairytale in a fairytale, inception style!

  • doesn't this mean that since Harry technically died, he too should of withered like the bride in this story??

  • wait a minute... so....... the elder wand can be created from any elder tree???? because the video said that death created a wand from the nearest elder tree or is it just a really old tree

  • I love this story.

  • 0:09 Lmao did anybody noticed the twilight reference, and how Ron kinda dissed it? Well played J.K. Rowling.

  • I love how Ron corrected Hermione about how its 'midnight' not 'twilight'.

  • lol Ron admits twilight is better :P

  • Harry could the master of death if he wanted to. He once got ressurection stone, invisibility cloack, and the elder wand. Isnt it ?

  • @marioc7777 But he already said that the power was too much for one man to handle and threw the wand from the bridge.

  • @Bleachrebellion yes thats true.

  • I say dumbledore was the oldest brother because he had the elder wand in his coffin. Snape was the second brother for... I really don't know. And James potter was the third brother for he gave his life for his son AND gave Harry his invisibility cloak. And voldemort is death

  • voldemort died for power

    snape died for love

and harry greeted death as an old friend.

but Dumbledore was the master of death.

  • emma watson is a very good story teller :)

  • @FireScarlet23 i agree

  • Tim Burton-ish.

  • @BurpingBlueBunny: its impossible voldemort is the first brother, because if you recall, the first brother had the most powerful wand, and dumbledore had it in his coffin.

  • @artisticreating yes but voldemort went to steal the elder wand so it could be his after all

  • ...This video gives me chills every time.

  • so the youngest brother was harrys great great grandfather or uncle

  • @mydickmilk something like that yeah

  • You all realise that this is based on Chaucer's Pardoner's Tale in The Canterbury Tales. JKR has cited it as an influence. Medieval Literature lives!!

  • Ok since a lot of people are sound the Voldemort, Snape, and Harry comparisons:

    1st brother: bald like Voldemort

2nd brother: big hooked nose like Snape

3rd brother: bit of messy hair like Harry

Very clever if you ask me

  • THIS IS A CHILDREN'S STORY?!

  • @shinedragon1king bit depressing if u ask me!!!! for a child's story i mean!!!!

  • @TheMgemily - :) true but it is suppose to give a message to our lives, that is the purpose of the story i believe.

  • I actually somewhat want to tell this story to my future children.

    Is that weird? 'o.0

  • @MoonHawk98 : / This is better than Red riding hood.

  • Please send me with lyrics...

  • Comment removed

  • this 3 minute story is better than the entire movie.

  • the 2 dislikes are from the two first brothers...

  • they should go in to more detail with this story as a deleted scene

  • i don"t get why was death looking for the third brother in stead of waiting until his time was up? why was the third one trying to avoid death? was death trying to pull some final destination stuff on the last one to

  • @FanBoy241 Death couldn't find him to take him because of the cloak. It was only until the 3rd brother decided his time was up and gave up the cloak that Death could finally find him.

  • @FanBoy241 This is a fairy tale "for wizards" so there's a message/moral behind the entertaining, literal story. Death (the state of being dead) is being personified as a character who hunts down dead/dying people. The brothers, being wizards, have magical objects (supposedly given to them by "Death") which they think help them avoid dying, but the first two die young (supposedly due to the objects). The third brother lives a long, full life and is ready to die when his time comes.

  • @FanBoy241 Those are pretty good questions, but you've gotta remember that the Tale of the Three Brothers is considered just a story to be told to kids when they're going to sleep or something.

  • Voldermort - the eldest brother who died for power

Snape - the second brother who died for love

Harry - the youngest brother who greeted death like an old friend.

  • @foregotheparable Wow, that's...really cool actually!

  • @foregotheparable Are you saying they're related?

  • @foregotheparable Its harry's father not him.....

  • @jptso Actually, Harry DID greet death like an old friend. He went to voldemort knowing he was going to die and was willing to do it. So... yeah.

  • i love this story im gonna tell it to my kids when i have some

  • Wait, wait wait

So harry had da invisabilty clock of da,3 brother ??

  • @314teehee Yes.

  • Like it or not we all need to greet death as an old friend and without fear. Because it's inevitable and it can arrive at any moment.

  • Am I the only one or does Death look like General Grevious from Star Wars?

  • This is great

  • 0: 10

ROFL blooper look at Harry's eye XD

  • the 2 dislikes are the 2 brothers

  • Comment removed

  • @malberico19 death knew the brothers would go with him sometime, so he tricked them. The two brothers died because the first one was drunk with power, so another wizard killed him. The second one killed himself to be with his loved one. The third, grew old, so he went with death willingly. Then death had them all.

  • LIKE IF YOU HAVE MEMORIZED THIS STORY!!

  • One of the most badass stories I've ever heard!

  • 0:15 never would have guessed ron would say "twilights fine"

  • the third brother is one of harry's ancestors, isn't he ignotus peverell?

  • @BionicleHarry Aren't they all Harry's ancestors if they are brothers?

  • Reminds Me Of A Tim Burton Film.

  • I'm so annoyed that this is the only animation in the entire Harry Potter saga. I kind of wanna know what software they used to create it, and if I could do something like this using blender.

  • Cool story, bro.

You should tell it again sometime.

  • I love the story of the three brothers. It's so interesting and Hermione tells it so well.

  • I can't get enough of this.

  • In a way it didn't make sense why did death give them a wish. Or pretend to it didn't do anything??? They still got to cross the bridge?

  • @malberico19 Death wanted to trick them. He knew that he would take the brothers eventually. Two of the brothers were taken by death because they were overtaken by the power of their gifts. The third brother tricked him though, but in the end, willingly went with death.

  • @R12A3E Oh i get it now.. thanks!

  • I find this tale really tragic and moving ;_;

  • Did u know how the deathly hollows follow lots of movies>

Voldemort-the one who died from too much power(oldest brother)

snape-the one who died from a lost loved one(second brother)

harry - the one who greeted death as an equel.

or even in pirates of the caribbean (trilogy)

lord becket-died of to much power

davy jones- died from a lost loved one

jack sparrow - greeted death as an equel (kraken scene)

    cool huh?

  • @07Thenightshadow that is cool!

  • 1:15 Ron what a suck-up u r!

  • i just got the deathly hallows tatooed =]

  • This is my favorite scene gives me the creeps but still amazing

  • Hermione: "... at twilight." Ron: "Midnight. Mom always said midnight." *Everyonr looks at Ron* Ron: "Twilight is fine! Better actually..."

  • this parts so clever especially when he draws the symbol.

  • After the 3rd Harry Potter movie (which was kinda disappointing) I developed a pessimistic view to the idea of making a movie version of the books. But hot dang, the Deathly Hallows turned out way better than the books.

  • @TJCID22 Really? I thought the Prisoner of Azkaban was one of the best movies.

  • voldemort died for power.

    snape died for love

harry greeted death as an old friend.

  • @ElleonAwesome well said!

  • @ElleonAwesome

You got that from FB on a picture

  • @ElleonAwesome ahhh now i see the relation in this

  • Love this story.

  • I love how Ron hates Twilight.

  • I love this story. It has a good ending with a good, simple message

  • loves this sceen

  • @megastar2390 you spoiling mother fucker!

  • "Twilights fine...better actually." Lies. There's a reason your mother said midnight, Ronald.

  • Awesome fuckn story. JK is a genius

  • amazing tale

  • This was such a brilliant scene. I absolutely loved it. And Emma Watson's voice is so soothing :D

  • Ohhh I get chills! Absolutely brilliant

  • @Bobbiegel, @omgcowshaveudders, @fran2382, Twilight is the time between the end of day and the beginning of night. It is also referred to as 'the gloaming' or dusk. The reason the Meyer series is called 'Twilight' is referring to the 'half-life' the vampires live - not human, not animal, never sleeping. Caught between day and night, like twilight itself. Ron has grown up with the story handed down from family stories, rather from the book. He's merely being a know-it-all! Brilliant animation.

  • Death is my only consolation ^^

  • I love how this feels like a independent film. It's great!

  • gross gore?

  • Who's the guy with the stone and whose the lady?

  • @projecthades The guy with the stone is the second brother, and the lady is the woman the second brother was going to marry before she died.

  • J.K. Rowling is a genius.

  • Emma Watson reads this astoundingly.

  • "do you want to read it"

  • The story reminds me of the Limbo XBLA game

  • I'm going to read this story to my kids at night! xD

  • twilight is fine...better actually. isit me or is there a twilight reference? #Justsaying.

  • @Bobbiegel no, twilight MEANS midnight, u cant call it a reference simply due to vocabulary -.-

  • @fran2382 Actually twilight and midnight aren't the same thing. Twilight is when there's a little bit of light, like in the early morning. But anyways, I think the makers of this movie are actually trying to poke fun at the Twilight franchise when Ron corrects her.

  • @Bobbiegel Yeah I actually think they're trying to make fun of Twilight, when Ron says "Midnight. Mum always said midnight."

  • mom always said midnigh love it

  • My favorite story :)

  • "twilight's fine, better actually"?!

    are you crazy ron?!

  • sound is bad

  • i cant wait to my newborn goddaugther grow up so i can tell her this story.. :D

  • Is it just me or does Death look just like General Grievous?

  • @marelicainavokado Death will kick General Grievous's ass!

  • I think Harry has the cloak of invisibility

  • @jacob61916 he does

  • magical

  • Lord Voldemort: The brother who died for power.

Severus Snape: The brother who died for lost love.

Harry Potter: The brother who greeted death like an old friend.

  • @nerdtasticpirategirl fuc%&/ clever reflexion:D

  • @nerdtasticpirategirl Wouldn't the last one be James Potter not Harry?

  • Comment removed

  • Emma has such a beautiful voice, this is the first time you can actually appreciate it :)

  • I love this story

  • the stone is called the Ressurection stone

    not sorcerers

    not philosophers

    RESSURECTION

  • @780HK. You are stupid!

  • to me i think this tells you how greed and idiocy comes back to hunt you and also how you should look at things...which really stretches out to not just the here and now but also to the future; like ten years from now....the third brother was by far the most intelligent

  • the stone must be the soccerers stone... it makes sence

  • @780HK No...it's the resurrection stone. The sorcerers stone was created by Nicholas Flamel, an alchemist. The sorcerer's stone wasn't made to bring the dead back to life, but create the elixir of life, which was solely to expand the drinker's life span

  • @780HK ... I guess you're talking about the "Sorcerer's Stone." And no, the stone isn't the Sorcerer's stone. The Sorcerer's Stone keeps you immortal forever, while the stone, which is called the Resurrection stone, brings a person who is already dead back from the dead.

  • Emma Watson is an excellent reader!

  • here one question i dont get it What stone did the second brother suppose to be
