  • omg at music camp one of the counselors played this in the faculty recital and i just had to watch it again! it is AWESOME!

  • bravissimo...grande idea!!!

  • You dancing at the end reminded me of very slow head banging.

    Amusement. =)

  • absolutely amazing!

  • Ah!! Tilmann Dehnhard!! Wow, amazing performance... I have to say that your compositions are incredible! I bought "Jazz Studies" sometime ago and have been playing most of the songs in the book for my flute lessons! I enjoy playing them, and even performed one today for a small concert. I actually uploaded it on youtube just now, and I'd really appreciate you watching the video and giving some tips about how I can make the song sound better.

Thanks in advance, and all the best!

    Jayhan

  • fantastic!

  • can you give me the sheet music so y can give you my email

  • This is awesome...

  • man 53-55 was on point

  • I didn't know that John Malkovich played the flute *grin*

Nice. Especially around 1:45 and the 2 minute mark :)

  • hahaha LOVE The bow at the end! AWESOME LOVE IT!!!!! :D

  • Its crazy, but this song seems to evoke the same feelings when I do wake up! Great job!

  • 1:05 - 1:08 my fav part

  • nice makig a song out of the alarm clock's beat

  • We're looking forward to hearing this piece performed live at the 2nd International Piccolo Symposium by soloist Kate Prestia-Schaub on Sunday, June 14, 2009.

  • Correction, Lois Herbine is actually performing this piece!

  • OK MEN

  • awesome :) jazz/metal grtz ..rhscheryl nyc -flutist

  • meraviglioso!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is really cool. :)

  • woah, i never knew there were dehnhard-vids on youtube. my flute-teacher gave me his cd (breath) a long time ago .. to keep me motivated. if you get the chance, try and listen :D he's doing some really amazing stuff on that cd (more amazing than "wakeup" - but i like that one, too.)

  • 1:40 - 1:56 was amazing :D

  • amazing piece and performance!

  • Irritating just got acceptable,

and the humor just got dryer.

  • Great idea, awesome display of the jazz picc.... but it's amazing how now matter how much I try I can't get past the sound of the alarm.... that sound is burnt right in my very soul...

  • Amazing!!!

I first tried to play piccolo yesterday

and it won't connect notes together when i tried to slur it, and i haven't played flute for long time, just tried it for fun, and i like it.

  • Awesome, really nice

I need help on the piccolo. I have a teardrop and it makes my sound airy. Any tips someone can give me to improve my sounds. I did not make a All-Region Band because of my sound =(

    I missed it by 1....

  • try to start playing long and soft tones by closing your lips and letting the airstream open up your lips just that tiny little bit until the sound comes. piccolo needs a very small embouchure hole. it is a question of coordination, if you bring your lips together more you will be able to play with a fairly relaxed embouchure. good luck!

  • GREAT :-)

  • Yes! the clock must have its very own bow! I found that part hilarious and the rest of it was just too cool for words. I love all the other things Ive seen posted gere too.

  • LOL I will do so just give me what I need to know to get the sheet music thank you so much

  • Does anyone know where I can get the sheet music to this i would love to play it

  • hello nakeddancer, you can get the sheet music from me, the composer. i would ask you kindly to wear clothes while performing it, though... ;o)

    best - tilmann

  • You are very creative! I've always hated my alarm clock. Perhaps there's hope for a reconciliation after all! Great piccolo playing.

  • Bravo!

  • is it just me or does the begiining sound like the phantom of the opera when crisitne is heading out to see her fathers grave

  • fantatic display

  • BRAVOOOOOOOOOOO

  • que buena cosa tilmann !!!! felicitaciones y que gran final...jajaja... Saludos desde colombia.

  • haha the bows were the best part.

    bravo!

  • Hello.

    This piece is fantastic.

I have been watching this video for several times and I love it more and more.

Do you mind if I play it live here in Portugal?

Keep doing this, you're good and I enjoy hearing.

    Have a god life.

  • Awesome! This is great!!! Did you make it up?

  • wow...you made my alarm clock sound good ^^

  • :) whoa. you. are. single handedly. the.most. amazing. person... IN THE WORLD!

    wow.

    *gasp.*

  • OH wow! THat's awesome! I loved it! I have a piccolo but I can't play that good. I wish I could play that song...

  • That was great I love how he had the alarm clock take a bow at the end!

  • The whole improv was cool. I especially liked between 1:32 to 2:03!!!! Awesome!

  • What an awesome imagination. I love this video. Thanks.

  • For some reason, the improvisation sounds like those random pakistan/indian commercials for like candy or something. Is it just me who just thinks this?

  • yes

  • From Annie/// SUPER

  • nice.

  • Wow

  • ese man es profesor mio..

  • Dude tht was nice. And it's pretty cool how u jump from the contrabass to the piccolo. I definitely want a copy of this, even though I despise alarm clocks.

  • this is absolutely brilliant!

  • omg, my dad has that same alarm, its so annoying, but now everytime I hear it I will think of this video. Awesome.

  • but notice the background.. why is it moving??

  • yeah, don't mean to burst ur bubble or anything, but i think it's the camera that's moving, not the background.

  • funny and nice.. haha

  • I really like the idea with the alarm ckock! very funny and creative!

and i really like your playing! I always hated piccolos, but now i love them!

  • You are my hero!

  • Genius.

  • supe!

  • Hehe very clever! It's really catchy I like it. :]

  • fab

  • piccolo's rock what do u call a piccolo player a flute player is a flautist is it a piccist?!?

  • You're kidding right?

  • i think it's a piccoloist.

  • boring at the beging that it's really jazzy -nice!

  • amazing! lovely! brilliant!

  • lovely sound... this different... i LOVE different...

  • You're crazy!! Duet with an alarm clock!:D

  • wow :D sounds great :D

  • This is a fantastic piece, I believe you mentioned you composed it?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this video.

    Exceptional ability.

  • Quite an interesting composition. You take a sound with such an aggravating Pavlov effect and make it quite nice!

  • woww im jealous.i just got my piccolo last september so im still kind of rusty but im getting better but your heck of good at itt!!

  • omg lol I never thought you could do this o.o Your tone is very nice. D: mine is just a load of air and sound haha.

  • Great video, I haven't seen something as creative as this in a long time. It really is an inspiring video!!! =)

  • I like the way it sounds tuned down like that, actually, the pale sound is really pretty.

  • lol the alarm clock bowed

    :D nice playin

  • dang you show jazz what piccolo is made of.. how creative.. mad props lol and your playing aint to shabby either.. especialy your improve ability. not a jazz person myself.. but this is deffanatly motivating

  • Brilliant!

I'm inspired to have a go at improvising on piccolo with my alarm, too. But not right now, as it is the middle of the night, and that probably wouldn't go down too well...

  • Very nice!

  • this is a philipp hammig piccolo with a fischer headjoint. i have to tune it down very far to match the intonation of the alarm clock, that's why the sound of the lower octave is kind of pale.

  • What kind of piccolo are you playing on?
