I am not indian, and don't know if this story is true or not, but I have many indian friends and have seen that they move their head around when they are talking...I think it has different meaning depending on the situation and what they are talking about and sometime it's funny ;)
Joe, This dickhead has absolutely no idea about Indian history. Just so you know, this head bob is done by only the people who come from a specific part of South India ( and thiese people were mostly living on trees during the British period or India's freedom struggle ). The rest 95% of population shakes their head normally to indicate Yes or No like the rest of the world. Ofcourse, there being a predominance of people from South India in US, you are likely to think its an "Indian" thing.
Britain ruled India for 400 years? He needs to read history. British Raj started in 1858 to 1947. The Company Raj started in 1757 with only small portion of the Indian Subcontinent.
This is a new storyyyyyyyyyy, common guys don't make up things like this. People are not stupid to believe everything like this. Lets accept, we Indians nod our head uniquely. It could be becoz we r confused as to what to say yes or no... its all to do with decision making too. It has been for years and years, may be centuries. Its our culture and part of our language, we as indians can understand it well... becoz we now what we are saying.
dumbass!!!, i am an indian and i never do this kind of head movement..i have no clue where did stereotype came from.. ive seen some people do it, but again there's no LOGICAL explanation behind it..
thats the biggest bullshit ive heard! this guy's exaggerating in order to gain his co-workers attention. its a bobble head alright, but not like this fool is doing it. shame on you for screwing up indias history. bobble head cause of the british. dumb idiot
Indians get robbed at gun point and start shaking their heads.

"Great guy"
FYI to all minorities, white people say this about you when they don't think you're a total savage/out to steal their wallets.
PervyPartisan 3 months ago
@PervyPartisan No, it may just mean he's a great guy. Don't assume everything a white person says is racist; that's racist.

Think about how they say YES and NO in BULGARIA.
They do the reverse of Yes and NO. And Indians do mixed (not sure ). haa haa.
Its to do with the way of expression(body language) in different parts of the world.

I used to work for an Indian company. Every time I would ask a question I did not know if they said yes or no.

@mpingola Indians try to negotiate for anything they buy. We don't want to negotiate.....but you have to sometimes.
