I am a life-long resident of Birmingham, Ala. and I always liked this song; but there is one unintentionally funny scene to the video. YOU SEE -, the Birminham area is notorious for being inundated by as little as one inch of snow accumulation. (SERIOUSLY.) So when the chick in the video goes out to her snow-coated car it always flashes through my mind,"Honey, you picked a lousey day to pack-up and leave. My "Birmingham" was Gainesville, FL, and the times there have been hard freezes and light snow, no one knew how to drive. At least I got out in September. I'm not saying where my Promised Land turned out to be, but "Birmingham" was my anthem. I sincerely hope it was for other women, too. I like it *much* better than the Dixie Chicks' "Goodbye, Earl."

I started really listening to her music and this song in paraticular has really made me think about my life and where I am.
