  • Dave @wildernessoutfitters YOU ARE THE MAN!! Les Stroud and Bear Grylls DOnt have shiiit on you Brother, I have spent hours and hours watching your videos Thanks so much Brother I'm learning so much

  • i cant make any bows now cause i ran out of osage so now all i can do is make walking sticks.=(

  • i love osage bows i can just never find the wood to make them anymore i only made on but my dad cracked it when i was trying to string it so it was really weak lol

  • hey dave i am 13 years okd and already made my first bow before this video. it is osage and has a 45lb draw back weight. The only problem is that it has no handle and is not accurate at all. but i will be making a new bow because of this video. if you need any osage let me know because i have woods behind me and almost every tree is osage. So you can comment back if you need any. Thanks for the video bye. Oh and my name is Zach

  • Videos like these are so important, I dont know about you all but im taking notes and going to try it now before SHTF.

  • Damn I love these videos. Too bad I am bubble boy.

  • That is an awesome bow Dave! The reflex in that bow makes it almost like a natural recurve. Cool!

  • looking good dave

  • That bow is starting to look great!

  • Nice video... Native Americans backed with sinew, the shorter bows usually.. Now a days people back osage with bamboo which works beautifully.. But for survival, all those wouldn't be very practical to say the least.. You just can't beat a good piece of osage!! Don't ya love those golden shavings?

  • ★★★★★

  • are you going to add any overlays on it or back it with anything?

  • No need on Osage, Backings are good for softer woods but Osage is very very strong alone, I actually have never seen a backed Osage Bow I can remember

  • @wildernessoutfitters How does the Osage compair to yew ?

  • curious as to the wetterlings you were using in the previous vids. SAW20H or SAW16H?

  • SAW20

  • @wildernessoutfitters are you sure it's the 20 inch version and not the 26? I have the 20 inch and it looks much shorter compared to yours in relation to my legs.

  • would love to see a making a chair/stool video.

things like stools, vices, looms, are the next step, after knowing how to make a fire, or build a shelter. for you to use while you make spoons, bowls, forks, bows, arrows, pointy sticks, wedges, mats, wall sections with the right vegitation, make a flute if you wanna.

i think a hammok style chair would be sweet, harder to move around, and kinda akin to the playground swing, mixed with a bit 'o' lazyboy

  • broken glass makes very nice scraper and leave a smooth finish for shaping. use the glass just like a metal scraper.

  • So overall the bow should be on the flatter side but still rounded off somewhat like an oval. If I'm correct?

  • Yes

  • Dave, you are the hardest workin man on youtube!

  • @jolietjake1970 VERY TRUE

  • when does your show start

  • Cannot talk about the show at this time-

  • Great work Dave!

  • Can't wait for part 4, it's really going to suck when you can't bring us all these great vids any more, but at least we will be able to see you on the TV soon :)

Keep up the great work Dave, I have learned a lot from your videos already.

  • Looks like its going to turn out great. With such a nice piece of wood i would go really slow with the tiller.

  • I agree 100% this bow has soooo much character and the wavey reflex is gorgous to, I will probably spend another 5 hours on it tomarrow

  • always 5/5. thanks brother i really learned a lot in this series.

  • Osage should produce a very good looking bow, and with a 60-65 draw weight, it'll be hard to beat!

  • great video Dave its coming out really well can't wait to see the finished bow.

  • looking good brother:)

  • 5 Stars as always. This is very cool Dave. Thanks for teaching me.
