  • Whats with illuminati sign ?

  • This Manga MUST have an ANIME adaptation

  • @cesarer92 I wouldn't mind that but I gotta say, I'm pretty satisfied with the live action

  • Comment removed

  • actually it the same ending as the manga it is from another volume of the manga series called 21st century boys

  • A part of me thinks 20th Century Boys is better suited to animation.

  • @atomofish

Yeah, the movies look extremely cheesy.

  • Best. Movie. Ever.

  • To be forgotten is worse than death.

  • no where near as good or deep as the manga, read it three times, always coming back for more...

  • why it has to be different?

  • i watched part one and as it got towards the end i was like wtf? then kenji..... then part 2 and 3^^! the fun goes on!

  • ehh isnt this part 2 the last hope?

  • did kenji died in the manga too?

  • @Razaej No, he didn't die. He survived the explosion and got amnesia.

  • i founf the movie :DDDD, PM if you want to watch it :DDD

  • @psycoball2011 If you actually watched the movie and ending and saw Friend's past, its quite pitiful

  • #FTW Go Movie World . com #CUTE - it's free here

  • The most important point of this story is that nobody remembers Katsumata-kun. (including readers) it's the cruellest bullying.

  • Well no movie is perfect but overall i give this movie 2 thumbs up cause it kept me guessing for a long time haha

  • The one thing I really didnt liked was the fact that EVERYONE survived that huge explosion. Also I didnt like the fact that Kenji survived the second battle with the robot. How did he tip it over? And how did he escape.

It didnt feel like it didnt need an explanation, it just felt to me like a poor excuse from Naoki to keep certain characters in the story.

Im really sad, it all started so good and ended so weak.

  • I read all of the manga and I agree that it really started to suck after awhile. I'm not trying to offend anyone or anything. Just my opinion. It was really good for awhile but it got bad fast somewhere past the halfway point. I think I'm going to watch the movies sometime, though.

  • @Godziller66

did you ever watch the movies?

  • @HiroIndo16

Well, it's only been four days since I posted that but...no.

  • @Godziller66 well if you like the manga i suggest you watch the movie. i'd love to see how much they want to make this movie close to its manga...but if you dont like it, then...yeah.

go for another hollywood anime movie adaptation, i guess?

  • Yes, I think it's the same for Monster, Anyway the part of the movie I prefer is after the end titles.

  • @Godziller66 lol american defenders of the "poor japanese" will jump at you on the first occasion when you say something japanese sucked. japanese aren't like that, it's just their american ass lickers! so just say your opinion and you dont need to say "im not trying to offend anyone"...let these ppl be offended and dont care about it

  • It's a very good manga serie but when the author makes it so long then it turns silly and boring, i read every pic of the manga when i first read the first part and skip a lot after it.

  • @kanuskiz: i'm sorry but i disagree with you. have you even read the manga twice? the ending for the manga couldn't have been better. subtle hints have been even dropped at as early as the 2nd volume of the manga to make up for the ending so it's actually a well-thought, well-organized finale.

  • @aislemyth

I sorta guessed who the final Friend would be, simply because he was mentioned and then never mentioned for a very, very long time. However, when the big revolution came along, I couldn't even remember the guys name. The ending was fine, but not great. My hopes were really high since MONSTER ended so perfectly.

  • VERY CUTE !

  • does anyone know when the dvd will be released?

  • @thehaeg released but no eng subs for it

  • man iam going nuts i cant wait for this installment. guess i have to watch part 1 and 3 over again.

  • one of my favourite movie!!!! Kenji and Shokun are very cool!!! Kanna is also very cute!!!

  • shogun* = otcho.

  • The ending is actually authentical to 21st Century Boys, the epilogue story.

  • I want to know what the movie's different conclusion is like. Dun care if someone spoils it. I read the manga, that's enough.

  • yeah, it sucked. I heard the author could only come up with shitty ending because he had planned to write a shorter story. But the greedy publishing company made him write more, forcing the author who had no ideas for extended plot. I think the "21st Century Boys" part would have never come out if it weren't for the extension.

  • @Kanuskiz

hmm, u're absolutely wrong. that statement goes to Naruto. 20th century boys was meant to be twisted, even if it's a bad ending. it's about human's emotions and the publishing company have nothing to do with it. as you see from his latest works, the "monster", urasawa naoki always had the best storytelling.

  • other final :B

  • olooo

  • love this movie...

  • friend is fu.....

  • where can i find this movie? please PM me or comment here, i want to see it so bad!

  • Is this movie as good as the manga?

  • I heard many things are changed from the original manga just for dramatic integrity however overall I have watched both 1 and 2 and I love the movies. However I think there might be two endings to this movie

  • well actually the movie is less complicated than the manga .....

  • wanna spoil the movie and tell me the ending? or what they changed?

I read the manga and it was awesome, but I feel if i watch the movie i'll lose some of the impact of the story

    (like so many others)

  • I haven't read the book but a friend of mine has and he told me that scenes have changed but only characters not in the right place etc. And to spoil movie one and two. Movie 1: Keiji and co. find out that Tomodachi is gonna destroy the world, Keiji confronts tomo and he finds out his identity presumably and later the monster he used to destroy the world blows up leaving a cliffhanger

  • Movie 2: Kana goes to tomodachi land to be reeducated, they find out secrets about who tomo might be, and the cliff hanger is that Tomo gets shot, he dies, he resurects himself infront of international television and thats the ending. Oh and Keiji turns out to be alive

  • both of them is good and better.

  • lol this series gets me so confused...so i'll have to watch the last one...and hopefully it'll answer all my questions.

    i freakin love 20th century boys :)

  • i think all of the people who played the younger versions of everybody did a very good job. they even looked a bit like their older counterparts

  • holy smokes. holy... T_T. well in all honesty, the trailer doesn't look as epic as in my fantasy. but as long as it doesn't ruin the story, and doesn't totally scrap my great memories of the manga, it's gonna be shit-in-your-mouth AWESOME

  • The kid who played Otcho is so cool!

  • i also watched it at dole cannery for the international film festival. Loved it. Ending was pretty good. I recommend watching it.

  • I've just seen this movie. I swear to god IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT. It WILL NOT LEAVE LOOSE ENDS. And IT WILL LEAVE YOU IN AWE.

Best J-movie/Manga Adaptation series ever made. =)

  • you know where i can watch it online? o.o....

  • Can anyone who has seen the final part PM me a synopsis? How is it different from the manga? Are the identities of the Friends the same? And anything else worth noting.

    Thanx.

  • is it OUT YET WHEN IS IT OUT I CANT FIND IT RAWR!!!!!!!!

  • I didn't understand the ending of the first movie. Didn't Friend and Kenji die in the explosion?

  • you gotta watch the second movie. at the ending you can see kenji riding on a bike :D

  • I liked the manga ending but I'm looking forward on the different take.

    Is Friend gonna win? hahahaaaaaaaa

  • I fucking hate how not powerful the ending of the story is compared to the rest of the story.

  • OMFG IS KENJI STILL ALIVE?

  • yes he is lol.

  • u know when is the third movie coming???

  • it's already out in japan, but i doubt the dvd version is out so it might take a while for the translators to get a hold of the dvds to sub it.

  • i don't really understand the endidng in manga. So who is really Friend?

  • Fukubei was the real Friend, who set the whole plan up. After his death, the boy who everyone thought killed himself in the science room became a pathetic replacement (character-wise; story-wise it was still awesome).

  • nice going, spoiler

  • if you want to know who is the third friend, i recommend 21th century boys. its only 2 books and including the rest of the story.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rmlohner

Oh well, the "pathetic replacement boy" make the plan better than Fukubei did. And...when Fukubei died? When he fall from that palace? Or in the science room, after years and years?

The point of the manga is that there is a Friend, no matter who's behind the Mask. That's why he have followers even after his death.

However, ALL the answers to all the questions are in the first part of the volume 16 (tankobon), all chapters including Superhuman.

  • it's doesn't matter they changing the original ending.. but they have to make a great ending

  • its not called redemtion in japanese doesn;t it mean "Our flag"?

  • ... They changed the ending??? D: WTF. I just hope it doesn't ruin the series. 'Cause the ending was REALLY good. :(

  • i LOVE the series, but i have to say, the original ending was not that good. If i was the director, I'd change the ending too to make it more appealing to viewers (new and old to the series), but well see if its good =P
