  • @MrHugeBastard your probably the one who should be burt at the stake! Why does a person's sexual preferance come in to question because they are a public figure??

  • Comment removed

  • @MrHugeBastard I can expect a comment of that from a guy with that youtube username.

  • @MrHugeBastard Suck a dick you mofo!!!

  • @Earthfart just had to say this but your user name is awesome

  • Ok for everyone who wants to know: "Deutschland über alles" is much older than the nazi-regime. First Germany wasn't one piece and germany above evreything means that germany should be one. The Nazis changed the meaning of this into their ideas in a masterrace, but originally the meaning wasn't bad after all. (Hope my english isn't too bad)

  • @juli66666 yes like you said it originally just meant a united germany and had nothing to do with the nazi's I've read about the history behind the saying and the phrase "Deutschland Uber Alles" was actually around since 1889 or something which is YEARS before the nazis I hate people who don't know what they are talking about and ignorantly say shit they know nothing about

  • @juli66666 your english is great. thanks for the info! it's very helpful.

  • @juli66666 ,Germany is a relative young country just like Italy .Ask an Italian where are you from, he would likely say Rome or Messina. The city.

But the cities are old.And Rome was too.

California.über alles? Das ist doch ein scheisse

  • @juli66666 The saying was created during the unification of Germany under Kaiser Wilhelm I.

  • @kibbles1053 The lyrics of "Das Lied der Deutschen", wich starts with "Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" was created in 1841, the second german reich under wilhelm I started in 1871. Also germany didn't use it as a hymn until the end of WW1.

  • The moment when you realize Jerry Brown is Governor again..........

  • ROY VALLASE LA MIERDA!!!!!!

  • Arnold power sunk away.

  • East Bay Ray rules man!! One of the best.

  • @xopowo69 ya hes pretty awesome :D hes pretty diverse in his playing, contrary to some other punk guitarists who strum power chords in every song

  • @xopowo69 Agreed. Saw him play this year and those high licks pierced me in the neck zone.

  • "Organic Poison Gas" Jello nailed it, almost 30 years ago. Could he have been any more prophetic?

  • @Earthfart ... thought so! I have always felt like this era of punk somehow resonated with my libertarian soul, haha. Just never got around to great investigation. (Suppose I still have not!)- But for now I guess I will take your word for it. That is so awsome if more or less that was the situation though. Thanks for info.

  • @Earthfart This is interesting. Makes a kind of intutive sense. Were you in the scene at that time or are you just well read?

  • @Aureliano0Peachdoor above all!

  • First one to tell me what Über Alles means will win a thousand internet points (btw i already know i just want to see who else does, also don't google it)

  • @Aureliano0Peachdoor Above everything else

  • Hardcore punk is the perfect music for the occupy movement, it's so annoying there aren't anymore good punk bands like the Dead Kennedys.

  • @SuperBspb True - punk has died and been replaced with a sanitised version more suitable for making money. Music is still sometimes OK but the spirit has gone.

  • Jello Biafra é demais, ele faz o trabalho dele com gosto. Ele intrerpreta as músicas e vive ela enquanto canta, ele empolga o público. Adoro ele.

  • 0:37 bad ass devil. haha. dead kennedys man yeah!!!

  • la raja el tema , D.K la lleva , saludos desde chile

  • BEAUTIFUL song!!!! GREATINGS FROM ITALY! ;)

  • jello biafra for president!!!!

  • The word is out! We fuck you all!!!

  • Jello for president!

  • u actually trust wikipedia dude people can write wtf rhey want dnt ever trust wikipedia

  • are they drawing parallels to the soon to be (1980) President of the United States Ronald Reagan who of course, is from California?

  • @jc2fly I don't think so, but when Reagan was elected they redid the song and titled it "Now we have a bigger problem".

  • @jc2fly How can you infer parallels? They are pretty explicit; the song is about former, and current, Govenor of California Jerry Brown and the facist left. The Dead Kennedy's were no neo-cons by any means- but apparently they understood a thing or two about "free men". The called bullshit across the board- an authoritarian Democrat is still and authoritarian.

  • apology dietrich, but ur country is used in parody as the worst / best of

  • adopted nazi wartime slogan german' uber alles' super supreme all

  • @seanhmilleable actualy Deutschland uber alles is the national anthem of germany, it is not a nazi wartime slogan

  • This song blows away the competiton.Dead Kennedys 4eva!

  • Greatest ever punk band full stop!

  • @Antoinehenryb "We're not a punk band, we're New Wave!"

  • uber alles means ftp

  • What those green gloves are about? : O

  • @ thervcaguy its was the opening words and refrain of the first stanza of the german national anthem: Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" and it was the only words used during Nazi era

  • Excellent song, and an excellent video. You should got to teach your talent to all these assholes who create the worst shit from all this fucking world puto.

    good luck!

  • Amazing how so much changes, yet so much stays the same. Pretty much all the lyrics apply today as much as they did when it was written. Gov. Jerry Brown anyone?

  • 3:09 look the boys at the right O_O

  • You would be seriously worried about Jello if there was no music being played.

  • interesting lyrics reflecting FEMA camps and all thats coming up next year, hhmmm

  • RAWR

  • How ahead of it's time, seeing as Jerry Brown is governor again. Bwa ha ha ha.

  • 26 people SUCK!!!!

  • Governor Jerry Brown. Ha. Fuck him and his Amazon Tax Bill.

  • Golliwogg APPROVES of this song.

  • Isso sim é que é rock na veia, o resto é lixo!

  • I cant fucking believe that we are all Jerry's Kids.

  • Hail Jello.

  • Some footage from Target Video in here, mucho thanks to Joe Rees.

I was at the Mab for one of the shows in this medley.

Too bad Jello is such a chump, other than him the DK's were great.

  • awesome video and song

  • tom hanks was a freak

  • FUCKING LAUGHED AT THE TEXT IN THE BEGINNING!

that's what i like about Dead Kennedys, they arent scared to say what's REALLY happening.

    unlike TV.

  • Jello Biafra is the best kind of prophet. He doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks of him, and he's half-crazy, as the best prophets always are.

  • "individuals who prefer to not deal with reality" i fucking love that line

  • 26 faegs

  • Its the suede-denim secret police.....they have come for your uncool niece.

Haha...always loved that line. Beware 'soft' fascism.....................Jello knows. Thanks for the upload

  • He's governor again.

    :o

  • One of the greatest bands ever made up by some of the most talented musicians ever. Sucks I was never able to see the band live with all the original members, the most recent line up I saw live was good.. But not original. =(

  • @nastySJpunk Avengers, also from SF, were a much better band, perhaps the best SF band ever. Penelope and Jello are friends, but Jello sucks ass.I always hated him at the Mab but loved his band. I used to stage dive at DK shows and make a big effort to throw and elbow or two at him. He doesn't like me much as well as we saw each other at the Dirkfest in '07 where he was the MC, he wasn't too happy to see me, vice versa!!

Mutants and Avengers = always better than the DK's.

  • the dead kennedys drummer looks like the gay black dude from revenge of the nerds

    dk for life!

  • No matter how Uber Allies translates , the reference is to Nazi Germany where they sang "Duetcheland,Duetcheland Uber Allies". Comparing Jerry Brown to the nazis was/is particularly witty for the time.

  • jello got so old since than lol but still the best

  • Am I the only one who is kinda freaked out when I see Jello not covered in sweat?

  • @RobSingsLikeaBoss i feel ya

  • When Biafra was in the band they were the best , all you Foo Fighter fans out there - this is what real music sound slike. Enjoy.

  • I guess this is one of the very few punk bands that really had a ideology,so I salute them.

  • @KingNurk Correction, there were very few BRITISH punk bands that had ideology (the clash and Uk subs come to mind) cause almost all british punk bands were influenced by the apathetic tossers that were the sex pistols (i still like them though :P ). American punk bands 9 times outta ten had a set of political beliefs (Usually extreme left or anarchist). So yeah ...

  • @Laidleypunk12 I guess you got a point there,The Exploited,New Model Army,right?And all the anarco-punck scene?The Stooges too?Nah just kidding now.And I agree,the Pistols are a shame,what kind of "Punk" sell the entire band copyrights to EMI?

  • There speaks a simpleton with no idea whatsoever

  • @parnellsimon1 There speaks your typical youtube arsehole who thinks he knows everything

  • -A-

  • JERRY BROWN!!

  • AMERICAN WASTELAND YEAH!!!!

  • me: Man, I need a gun, quick

salesman: here it is an automatic pistol

    me: I need 25 bullets

salesman: OMG, will you kill them all alone

me: No Sr., I have others 1.563 to back me up

  • whats uber alles mean?

  • @thervcaguy It means...

Above everything else / above all

  • literally

    over all

uber = over alles = all

  • @rp61wasinnocentok Actually it means "more than anything else", "above all" would be, "ueber allen"

  • @thervcaguy i thought it ment super allies

  • @Bakery994 Lawl no it means above all. It doesn't mean super allies >.<

  • @thervcaguy it can mean afew things including about all, super alles and above all.

  • @thervcaguy above all

  • @thervcaguy The song is about a hippie president who acts like Hitler.Hitler often said"Deutschland über alles",what means"Germany about everything."

  • @thervcaguy

uber actually seems to come from the German word 'über' (umlaut), meaning exactly what rp61 wrote.

It's kind of a superlative IMHO.

    Joe.

  • @thervcaguy "over all"

  • @thervcaguy During the nazi regime the german national anthem started with: Deutschland, Deutschland über alles

  • @DieGoldenenJahre2 That was the "Deutschland Lied" and was the national anthem from 1870 to 1945. The first stanza is no longer sung. The origins of the song are less ominous than nazis. It was written at a time of nascent German nationalism, long before Germany existed. 1840's or so, I believe, when there were a collection of German-speaking countries, principalities, empires and kingdoms in Central Europe. The idea was that there should be a "German-country" above all the existing lands.

  • @DWGarvin Thanx for these interesting facts, I didn't knew that.. Greetings from "German-country" ;-)

  • @DieGoldenenJahre2 and earlier?

  • @DieGoldenenJahre2 You are correct my friend! It means Germany over Everything!

  • @DieGoldenenJahre2 My bad, I meant Germany Above Everything

  • @DieGoldenenJahre2

well that obvious isint it ? oh I got it u just stating the fact right ?

  • @thervcaguy

    It's german. Think Nazi

  • @thervcaguy

"All over", meaning "everywhere...." in English I Jello saying " all over California"

  • @thervcaguy german language is close to english...uber-over, alles-all

  • @thervcaguy and...anthem of nazi germany was called Deutschland uber alles, Germany above all

  • @thervcaguy It's from Nazi Germany. The slogan was "Germany uber alles," Germany over all. It's closely linked to the idea of the "master race."

  • @LordBalto no. it has nothing to do with the Nazis. it is much older...

  • @TheDANSKPOWER So, the references to "camps" and "poison gas" are just, what? And secret police, just, what? And "showers"? And "zen fascists," what? And "master race"? Who exactly do you think you are kidding? "You'd look nice as a drawstring lamp"? Were the Germans doing THAT "earlier," before, say, the 1930 and 1940s? I don't know what you've been smoking, Sonny, but these are all references to the guy with the moustache and the locked elbow named Adolf.

  • @LordBalto calm down...go to wikipedia and search "deitschlandlied" I am sure that I know more about Germany than you do. I only said that the phrase "Deutschland über alles" is older and abused by the Nazis. Same with the swastika, which is also older than "Adolf". Sonny, you are a ignorant American...

  • @LordBalto it is deutschland uber alles not germany

  • @mrmasterofnothing1 Last time I looked, "Deutschland" was the German word for Germany. Did they change it recently? Is it now a brand of soda pop?

  • @LordBalto No, it is the first strophe of the national anthem of germany. It was writen before germany was founded and means germany over all in my mind. The nazis used it for their ideas, but they have there own song, the "Horst-Wessel-Lied", which became the offices titel. After the war, olny the thrid shrophe without "Deutschland über alles" will be sung.

The DK used "über alles" as a synonym for chauvinism and fashism.

  • @biobanane99 Not to be argumentative, but it's pretty clear how the term is being used in the Dead Kennedys song, and it's a clear reference to dictatorial regimes. What it is in the eyes of Germans isn't important. What it is in the eyes of Americans who fought Germany during World War II is what is being referenced. Gerry Brown is being compared to a mid-20th century German dictator.

  • I've been disliking Jello Biafra more and more for some time, and have actually come to the point where I agree more with some of the sentiments sarcastically and satirically delivered in this song!!!

  • ustedes son bastante graciosos, peleando por cualquier idiotez, no tiene sentido, no hay diferencia entre humanos, espero algun dia todos lo entendamos.

  • one great thing is that u really push people's buttons getting responses and that's what we need to have a good productive change 4 the better

  • @mikerybs

All part of the service ;-)

  • 24 people are offended by reality

  • I feel ashamed listening to this shit.

Everybody knows that we true Euros are "uber alles".

Yanks and especially Californians are below all...

California belongs to the Mexican people.

  • @klepzo If you're a real Euro you would've written über alles. Didn't you learn German in school, or maybe you meditated.

  • @klepzo Well considering that our ancestors came to America and fought for freedom and we had to fight to get all of what America is now, we should be able to stay here..Now what we did as a nation to the Indians was unacceptable but look at what the Germans did. Americans look down on Germans and everybody who was involved in The Holocaust. Just remember that America may be bad but you guys are no better. I have total respect for other countries, but when you're gonna talk shit I'm going to too

  • @klepzo Wait are you fuckin bein sarcastic man? Europe, california, america, mexico...any other country or continent, all have something wrong with them. To try and be superior than us Californians is almost like what the white supremacists do. If i totally missed the point of ur comment I'm sorry but shit man....

  • Wow that's a cool ass story hobomaster...right on and something to NEVER forget!

  • ótimo os cara são de mais principalmente o jello

  • When you look at his expressions on stage, you know that he really believed in what he was doing, he was not just acting!
