i visited the catacombs right before watching the movie but not similar at all except for the skulls, lol it isnt scary that much and no parties like that, loved it and the writer and director have a real big imagination to put all the events in the movie together in a very coherent way

She all jumpy at the start and her sister says something like "there isn't a maniac in every shadow", Probably meaning she was attacked at night or something and that's why she's on meds to help her over come her depression. They were doing the same thing as Jigsaw from saw, giving her a near death experience to set her free and make her live life to the fullest.

The beginning, where there is a loud party going on, and the girl tries to follow the light to the party, and gets stopped by that creature and supposedly killed...THAT SCENE WAS RETARDED. yes, the catacombs stretch for miles and miles and it's not known how deep they go. Read on the history. Paris did run out of room to bury its dead and ppl were catching diaseases from the dead b/c they were badly buried so they were moved to the catacombs. There are millions of corpses down there from the black plague, I believe.
