I have had floaters ever since I can remember, as a child I used to play around with them. Trying to find them in hard spots and such. Currently as a 22 year old I find these things extremely annoying. When I am reading, watching, or playing video games. Even while looking at the night sky and it is very sad.

I live in CT. I know so well what she is talking about! I've had them since I was a little kid. But now, they are worse. I have a thick line that is twisted in my line of sight in my left eye for example. I have like a one cell floater that is dead on in my line of sight in the same eye. Each eye has so many floaters ...man, help! Is there anyone doing this in the northeast?
hi floaters sufferers. i have had these little beasts since i was like twelve. now i am in my thirties. i think everybody with nonpathological eye floaters should try this and see. in my country, the doctors, they are only speaking about vitrectomy but nobody with physiological floaters should undergo vitrectomy and make things much worse. so laser treatment is a really big chance. take care. do not lose faith. we will beat them in the end.
So does this treatment actually get rid of eye floaters and spots?
Ive had these eye floaters in my eyes for over 2 years now, tbh ive gotten used to it and it dosen't really bother me anymore but i would still like to have them removed, could i get more information on this surgery (were i can have this done, how much the treatment costs, will there be any after effects, is it reliable...etc)
BTW I have acute myopia(or something) which in effect means my vision has not stabilised at the age of 23. Is there anybody else with this condition? I would like to know whats the upper limit for this i.e. when can this be expected to stop. My doctors keep giving me a load of crap saying stuff like 'we expect this to stabilise soon so dont worry'.
I think the people who say that floaters can be simply ignored need to know that there are varying amounts of floaters in the eyes of other people. Iv got 2 that stay on my field of vision in all light conditions and 8 to 10 that show up when the conditions are grey and dark - which in sweden is most of the time. What worries me is that im only 23. I have been to several doctors and they have all asked me to simply ignore it. I have tried ignoring them but at times feel extremely stressed.
@Andre8869 omg i hate doctors like that please keep me posted about your condition, and if you find a doctor that helps you. im adding you as a friend
Ok i'm very cautious about this laser. I have floaters and my doctors are at UCLA Jules Stein Eye Center, which is one of the top eye centers in the world. They told me there is absolutely nothing I can do about my floaters. So this leads me to believe, although this laser seems to get rid of floaters, it must not be safe enough or FDA approved for floaters if the top eye center in the world is not using it. I would think twice about this you guys. I'm sure if it was safe UCLA would be using it!
You are not a UCLA doctor. It is not your position to relay what your doctor thinks about this considering the fact that you don't know what your doctor thinks about this.
This could very well be a product that is still being tested.
yeah i have them too... and im currently training for the army..as a wanna be tough guy i shouldnt give a fuck..but yes i cant help to feel the same way hang in there brother lol Dont be a girl and think too much...is thinking too much that hurts the most ...eye floaters cant really harm you unless they float into your thoughts
I've had floaters all my life. When I was a kid, I used to play with them, moving my eye rapidly to make them rocket across my field of vision. Sometimes I would try to navigate them around objects in the background, such as light fixtures, pretending the floaters were characters in a video game.
As an adult, I find them annoying. They're especially distracting when reading off a computer screen.
For both of these reasons, I find this video completely awesome. Pow! Zap! Die, floater!
Has anyone else been to an eye doctor, mine told me they really arent a problem, but he asked me if I'm seeing "flashes of light" and ever since then ive been seeing little mini white "light" things when I spuint my eyes really hard, does any1 else see that?
you guys would not believe how horrible my floaters are. I have had them for like 13 years now and they still drive me crazy. Ever since my retina was detached I see black ones and clear ones. They are huge I need to meet this guy
one time in the future this stuff will be commomplace.
like lasik is now and lasik is getting easier to do and safer with time. (I'd rather have my glasses I like and be able to read like a human in my 50<s)
Thanks for posting this. I'm not a candidate for this type of treatment unfortunately, even though my worsening floaters have been driving me nuts for over a decade. It was just nice to see what floaters look like from an eye doc's perspective. They look more disgusting than what I was expecting. lol
well like i said theres lots of causes like getting specks in your eye, im no doctor but i looked it up, there was a myth about you going blind if you jackoff which is ridiculous, but the truth is that when you ejaculate way too much (im guessing something like 2-3+ times every single day is too much) for some reason you get floaters...i dont think its dangerous but some people have bigger ones that are annoying so they are usually the ones that get the treatment
Again Masturbation does not cause eye floaters, the google search you are talking about gives you nothing but myths and rumors. There are no studies proving masturbation causes vitreous detachment (floaters).
That is probably the dumbest thing I've heard. sorry but I have a strong science background, especially in the life sciences, and your rationale and the rumors online are just that, nothing but myth.
@sanjose21ca well that was random...but actually in the long run it can, if done excessively masturbation causes (in men) disruption the acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions and causes your body to put out too many hormones. (acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin) This can effect you mentally and even physically.
@sanjose21ca im not spreading anything do you not know how hormones work? pick up a book...and im not making up anything its well known in medical science that sex affects your hormones what the hell do you think your sex drive is
if you would like more information on this "excessive practice" leave me an inbox messege i will be glad to help you with your problems, i will also direct you to where you could get more help, thank you!
eye floaters are caused by over masterbation due to the excessive release of epinephrine norepinephrine, the fight or flight chemicals. low serotonin and GABA nervous functions cause this as well. Try taking a GABA supplement and 5 htp supplement along with fish oil and l arginine 3 times a day it should clear up the floaters within a week or two with continual usage. be honest with yourself dont overmasterbate/ejaculate. there is such a thing as TOO MUCH of a good thing. GL all!
well they're not the thick dark ones, they're quite thin but that means they create one big blur.
Mine said the same + "if u see an increase you should get your eyes checked again" and i told them "if i saw an increase i wouldnt be able to tell since there are already so many" and they just shrugged it off =/
Dont get flashes though and I thought it was to do with your retina not your cornia?
I need your advice. I have a large one in my direct field of view that began about a month ago. I'm 51 years old and its bothering me alot. I just got laser surgery 2 years ago and I enjoyed 20/15 vision and now my right eye is like 20/500.
@garbage793 Tell me your secret! I cannot ignore these bastards ;-( I too rather stay in doors during the day just to avoid them. I only enjoy the night now.
i have eye floaters! i got them a few months after i had fractured my skull. my eye doctor who fan a hour+ long eye exam said my retina isnt detached. he said it might be from the skull fracture. he said that my migrains could also be the cuase but the floaters should only be there when i have the migraine. it is odd of me to have eye floaters because i am younger than 16. they said they will go away but they arent. my migraines worsen them so much i can feel them going acros my eye. what do i d
My eye doctor said that some floaters are normal because there is jelly like substance in the eye itself. I see clear bubble spots and the streaks like a lightning bolt when I look at the clear blue sky.
same thing bud, giant strands of circle dots, the worst one is a huge mass of them lol but they are harmless, just ignore them and they kinda help me concentrate on daydreaming lol
plus, laser surgery only gets rid of current floaters....in a matter of months maybe weeks the jell like tissue will still break off and keep producing
VERY easy to ignore. You only need surgery if you are at the point where ignoring is IMPOSSIBLE. Where it even shows in your peripheral vision, THATS when you rush to doctor seuss...
i know it might seem a bit private but did you and do you masturbate. there is direct correalation between people who masturbate and have floaters at an early age.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
im 13 years old and I first noticed my eye floaters when I was 5 y/o then they went away and came back this year my parents dont know I have them neither does my docter.
But if you go see Docter Jesus your quality of life will be better and your eye floaters will be gone Docter jesus told me to pray to him and stop masturbating and trust him I will be heald you will be healed too if you trust him and pray.
but the more powerful way is to extract thc from the plant to make a potent oil which can be taken which does not get you high - has BEEN PROVEN TO CURE CANCER and COUNTLESS other diseases

medication out today is not true medicine i can tell you that
i'm only 13 and i have like a ton of those fucking floaters in my eye, seriously want to get one of those. but fortunately, my floaters are not caused by the eye broken of something like that, it's just that those shit protein leaked out, somehow......
I had a very bad case of floaters in both my eyes I found a doctor in California whose name is Dr. Johnson he has all but eliminated my floaters with this laser.. my quality of life has dramatically changed, I had to stop reading for any long period of time.. now I can read.. my life has changed, I should pass this information along. this doctor's phone number is 877-487-4448 he is located in Irvine California
im 16 and i have one black floater with junk around it in my left eye and some clear ones in my right i think will they go away? Is this laser thing safe?
I have to admit that I really enjoyed watching those cursed things get blasted! I was just imagining that it was my floaters which were being obliterated.
About the only qualm I might have about this is the question of how the laser manages not to damage the retina. I'll have to check out your web site to get the details. I'm on to something good here!
I have too many to count. I'd be happy just to get rid of the dozen or so main ones that obstruct my center of vision. The peripheral ones don't bother me so much.
i seem to have different ones everyday and im only 16. Im worried it could lead to something harmful. I was wondering if unhealthy eating could effect this culd im not a very healthy eater.
I am truly scared of seeing an ophalmologist again, Since I stared posting, I have received 3 emails from 3 people who experienced almost exactly the same problem. Just scarey!. Could eye ultrasound be and alternative to pupil dilator drops?
It could be rare but the dilator drop was the only cause of my floaters. I am a healthy middle-age man who went to the ophthamologist for a routine check-up. The droping had to be repeated because the first attept did not dilate well. The day after and till today (5 months) I see many floaters.
I have floaters too. Started out in my right eye and now my left eye is showing signs of it too. Floaters can be indications of retinal detachment. Which means that your retina peels off from the wall of the inner eyeball. If you guys start seeing clouds of floaters or bright flashes of light, call your optomitrist immediately.
Iam 25 and have had floaters for as long as i can remember. They seem to be getting worse and is affecting not only my quality of life as i hate going out into the daylight, but also my relationship as i constantly cry and whinge about them. Is there anything that can be done in Australia??? Iam despereate!
Im 16 and i was wondering why i have so many floaters some are like clear and if i swuint and look into the sky i can see them clearly they have like a black outline i have probably 4 noticable ones. Is there anything i can do to stop getting them?
my email adress is sagarchahal @ gmail if you guys can help me get some info on a placve in atlanta i can get the sergery done in it would be really helpful
There are only two places in the US where you can get it done. Dr. Karickhoff in Virginia and Dr. Geller in Florida. Look up laser surgery in google and you'll find their sites.
Yea they are very normal and extremely common, even in younger people. Its also normal to see them suddenly, especially during the brighter summer months.
kallisnet
You should google "floaters ezboard" and read the section on laser surgery. From what I have read it is fairly safe, but mostly ineffective in young patients, (young being younger than 40).
Hi Scott, I am aged 27yrs with 6/6 perfect vision with glasses... though i see lot of floaters from past 10 years... i dont know should my case be idle for laser treatment.. because they annoy me very much... what about health of retina... how much is the success rate of this procedure... thanks.. Kallis
i.m only 24 years old...it' s normal that i have several floaters?i woul cry....i have the floaters from 2 months, it is normal that i' ve seen them suddenly?
i like the way the laser destroys those floaters. Just slice and destroy the floaters apart... that person did had a lot of floaters... just eat the slimy nasty floaters

eye floaters are caused by over masterbation due to the excessive release of epinephrine norepinephrine, the fight or flight chemicals. low serotonin and GABA nervous functions cause this as well. GL all!

i have 2 differnt ones tell your optometrists mine said if i see a whole bunch then to tell her so seriously you conria could be detatched
Aarondz46 2 years ago
well they're not the thick dark ones, they're quite thin but that means they create one big blur.
Mine said the same + "if u see an increase you should get your eyes checked again" and i told them "if i saw an increase i wouldnt be able to tell since there are already so many" and they just shrugged it off =/
Dont get flashes though and I thought it was to do with your retina not your cornia?
HeilHendo 2 years ago
sorry, ment retina
Aarondz46 2 years ago
Oh man. I was at the same stage as some of you guys. I have tonnes of floaters. I got so obsessed about them that I would not go out in light.
Now I only see them like once a month. Do you know what cured it?
Selective attention and adaptation. Do not under-estimate the power of brain.
PM me if you are depressed and need help.

I need your advice. I have a large one in my direct field of view that began about a month ago. I'm 51 years old and its bothering me alot. I just got laser surgery 2 years ago and I enjoyed 20/15 vision and now my right eye is like 20/500.
mac071605 2 years ago
@garbage793 Tell me your secret! I cannot ignore these bastards ;-( I too rather stay in doors during the day just to avoid them. I only enjoy the night now.

vauxpartz 3 years ago
i have eye floaters! i got them a few months after i had fractured my skull. my eye doctor who fan a hour+ long eye exam said my retina isnt detached. he said it might be from the skull fracture. he said that my migrains could also be the cuase but the floaters should only be there when i have the migraine. it is odd of me to have eye floaters because i am younger than 16. they said they will go away but they arent. my migraines worsen them so much i can feel them going acros my eye. what do i d
gearheadgriffin 3 years ago
can you zap the smaller ones too or no?
stephenthehitmanhart 3 years ago
My eye doctor said that some floaters are normal because there is jelly like substance in the eye itself. I see clear bubble spots and the streaks like a lightning bolt when I look at the clear blue sky.
doostoos1 3 years ago
does any one see spots along with the strands??
Pharaohinthetemple 3 years ago
I kinda do. They are what i would describe as flashes if that makes sense?
Its really annoying if I concentrate on them. If im out doing something or not thinking about them then I dont really see them. Anyone the same?
Brenho 3 years ago 2
same thing bud, giant strands of circle dots, the worst one is a huge mass of them lol but they are harmless, just ignore them and they kinda help me concentrate on daydreaming lol
Xpninjastriker 3 years ago
you might have retinal deattachment. a few floaters are normal, but if you are expirencing flashes too, then you should defintley tell your doctor
hopohop21 2 years ago
yeah the same for me,i havent think of them since 2007,and yesterday i saw them again so, i began nervous again
djpariss 1 year ago
shoot that thang
stephenharperbest2 3 years ago
Judging from the movie here, it looks as though the floaters are being blown apart, only to re-connect again.
It looks like bits of hot lava getting zapped with a laser. Looks cool, but what effective outcome does this prove ?

HEY I GOT A QUESTION THAT PUZZLES ME. HELP ME.
How could eye floaters be seen at night? If they are seen at all. I mean how do they manifest?
Isack007 3 years ago
what do u mean by night?
waterpistool 3 years ago
im 13 i have a fly sized floater and tiny little floaters that follow it around
viralvirol 3 years ago
Hey dont worry about them, I know they suck.
Just have to live with them. Im about your age
Isack007 3 years ago
plus, laser surgery only gets rid of current floaters....in a matter of months maybe weeks the jell like tissue will still break off and keep producing
DanTheRepairMan 3 years ago
im 15 and have it, i fucking hate it,
DanTheRepairMan 3 years ago
VERY easy to ignore. You only need surgery if you are at the point where ignoring is IMPOSSIBLE. Where it even shows in your peripheral vision, THATS when you rush to doctor seuss...
tenshupuro 3 years ago
I have those freaking things in my left eye too. I hate them. Maybe some day ill go to laser surgery, im 18 year old :(
juuso8989 3 years ago
Doctors recommend you ignore them until you are 21+vor 25+ Cuz ur still growing.
tenshupuro 3 years ago
What if you are 25+?
Do they become less frequent when you stop growing?
I'm 25, I've had them since about 16.
wimpog97 3 years ago
i know it might seem a bit private but did you and do you masturbate. there is direct correalation between people who masturbate and have floaters at an early age.

hey i saw that you commented on the eye floater vid here, i have a few questions to ask you, messege me back plz

Marijuana is not the cure to everything, it comes with it's negatives. For me it led to HPPD, google it.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
im 13 years old and I first noticed my eye floaters when I was 5 y/o then they went away and came back this year my parents dont know I have them neither does my docter.
But if you go see Docter Jesus your quality of life will be better and your eye floaters will be gone Docter jesus told me to pray to him and stop masturbating and trust him I will be heald you will be healed too if you trust him and pray.
sn00piedog 3 years ago
If Jesus could get rid of floaters he wouldn't have made doctors. Don't buy into Voodoo.......

honestly, in a situation like this with floaters (no cure) , jesus/god is the only one to turn to.

is laser eye surgery for floaters harmful?
lufcjoeg06 3 years ago
I had a very bad case of floaters in both my eyes I found a doctor in California whose name is Dr. Johnson he has all but eliminated my floaters with this laser.. my quality of life has dramatically changed, I had to stop reading for any long period of time.. now I can read.. my life has changed, I should pass this information along. this doctor's phone number is 877-487-4448 he is located in Irvine California

im 16 and i have one black floater with junk around it in my left eye and some clear ones in my right i think will they go away? Is this laser thing safe?
H0MEY02 4 years ago
I have to admit that I really enjoyed watching those cursed things get blasted! I was just imagining that it was my floaters which were being obliterated.
About the only qualm I might have about this is the question of how the laser manages not to damage the retina. I'll have to check out your web site to get the details. I'm on to something good here!
kimchiman1000 4 years ago
Im 14 and I have 6 floaters.
davefan12 4 years ago
I have too many to count. I'd be happy just to get rid of the dozen or so main ones that obstruct my center of vision. The peripheral ones don't bother me so much.
kimchiman1000 4 years ago
i seem to have different ones everyday and im only 16.

Could eye ultrasound be and alternative to pupil dilator drops?
qelmasing 4 years ago
It could be rare but the dilator drop was the only cause of my floaters. I am a healthy middle-age man who went to the ophthamologist for a routine check-up. The droping had to be repeated because the first attept did not dilate well. The day after and till today (5 months) I see many floaters.
qelmasing 4 years ago
Pupil Dilator Drops caused permanent floaters in both my eyes!!
qelmasing 4 years ago
That's an extremely rare phenomenon. Dilation has also rarely induced retinal detachment and acute glaucoma.
Then again, people have died from injections of Xylocaine at the dentist.
scottgellermd 4 years ago
I have floaters too. Started out in my right eye and now my left eye is showing signs of it too. Floaters can be indications of retinal detachment. Which means that your retina peels off from the wall of the inner eyeball. If you guys start seeing clouds of floaters or bright flashes of light, call your optomitrist immediately.
Wushu17 4 years ago
Iam 25 and have had floaters for as long as i can remember. They seem to be getting worse and is affecting not only my quality of life as i hate going out into the daylight, but also my relationship as i constantly cry and whinge about them. Is there anything that can be done in Australia??? Iam despereate!

sagarchahal 4 years ago
There are only two places in the US where you can get it done. Dr. Karickhoff in Virginia and Dr. Geller in Florida. Look up laser surgery in google and you'll find their sites.
Imanoobie316 4 years ago
tarantino1983
Yea they are very normal and extremely common, even in younger people. Its also normal to see them suddenly, especially during the brighter summer months.
kallisnet
You should google "floaters ezboard" and read the section on laser surgery. From what I have read it is fairly safe, but mostly ineffective in young patients, (young being younger than 40).
Imanoobie316 4 years ago
Hi Scott, I am aged 27yrs with 6/6 perfect vision with glasses... though i see lot of floaters from past 10 years... i dont know should my case be idle for laser treatment.. because they annoy me very much... what about health of retina... how much is the success rate of this procedure... thanks.. Kallis
kallisnet 4 years ago
i.m only 24 years old...it' s normal that i have several floaters?i woul cry....i have the floaters from 2 months, it is normal that i' ve seen them suddenly?
tarantino1983 4 years ago
i like the way the laser destroys those floaters. Just slice and destroy the floaters apart... that person did had a lot of floaters... just eat the slimy nasty floaters

i need to get this surgery done so can some one send me information where to get this done becuase it is very annoying in the summer time
