is It common for pain from this to go though out the abdomin? I find recently I have had horrible stomach and side pains that sometimes make me unable to stand straight or lie a certain way seems to worsen after eating and is relieved after a BM. and sometimes pain worsens when I become active like running or something, I'm now sure if this is ibs or what? possible pulled muscles? idk, pls let me know what you think, thanks
Medicinal Marijuana helps a lot for my irritable bowel syndrome, its the fastest way that manages it immediately and "as far as I know" nothing else can ease the pain faster, it is also an anti-inflammatory and gives me no diarrhea for the rest of the day/night and I highly suggest if you can get legality in the medicine, props to you!
This video is absolutely true. I was diagnosed after a year of symptoms and wrong diagnosis', IBS is terrible to have but I still feel lucky knowing that it won't kill me like lets say cancer. I have already made the necessary steps to live with it, it can be controlled but never cured unless the lord does it. I am now 20 and have been living with it for almost 2 years.
I have had severe IBS for about 6 years....to the point where yes not eating for a few days was better than eating something and dealing with the pain after. I have been praying to GOD knowing that he can heal people SUDDENLY and then i decided to start drinking ginger tea(just chopped up fresh ginger root in boiling water) I haven't had a reaction in 2 weeks now....try it people!!!
@ziDMx That's very young. I am sorry this happened. But there is no time for sulking. You have to accept that you will probably be like this for a while. Even the rest of your life. So start living life again and ask your mother/father to start helping you do the right stuff like buying healthy foods. One guy said ginger works well and it seems to work well true. Get involved with sports. Pray the lord it will go away.
Tips: Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. Don't sleep in and get up randomly. Run after you have breakfast. I did this for a week and my symptoms were controlled
please reply, i am a 13 year old and i think i might have IBS i am a student doing my exams and i suffer badly while doing them. the doctors say their isnt anything wrong with me but i have the same symptoms as my dad who suffers from IBS. can you please tell me what to do
@Tupac786Jr ok I saw your comment and im 14 with the same problem does your stomach growl all the time try eating eggs if it gives you a bad attack then you probly do also does your stomach hurt alot or more often in the summer?
@Tupac786Jr I have a similar difficulty. I've just turned 15 but it's been going on for months and I don't see what causes it. Don't let it get too much and try not to give in because IBS can get you down. I try to eat an apple or a similar fruit in the morning along with a probiotic drink to help stomach and bowel bacteria. Try not to overeat or snack between meals too often as this seems to cause me a lot of bowel discomfort. Try and drink water and fruit juice (orange/apple) & nothing fizzy.
@AWhiteMansAfro Getting you down is an understatement! I'm 24 and have had it for 4 years. I've lost all hope that I'll ever get better and I've been depressed for the past 2 years. My passion is biking and snowboarding, I can't do them anymore. Everytime I go biking I get severe cramps and I cough up stomache acid. Then if I go snowboarding I can only last an hour. I don't have a social life anymore. I'm on youtube trying to find help.
@ThePantyDroper I feel your pain my friend. But you should not let it keep you down. I use to do football and cycling before I got it and it put me down for the first year because I was depressed and the doctors could not tell me what was wrong with me. Now that I know atleast I am not dying of cancer I have vowed to beat IBS and I am now back doing cycling and football. My IBS is much more controlled now please my friend you have to beat it or you will be depressed forever!
@ThePantyDroper Go back to skying and snowboarding and cycling. Eat like you are suppose to. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Don't miss meals. Get the right amount of sleep and just start living an overall more healthy lifestyle. Cut out chocolate and other stuff that give you attacks. Eat lots of natural fruits and vegetables and fibre. All of us IBS victims can beat it it is not the end of the world. I know trust me I had and still have it bad. My biggest problem is maintaining weight.
@youneke Ya I eat what I'm suppose to. I went to a nutritionist who did a blood analysis. Based on my tests, she made a very specific diet. I've been on that diet for about 6 months. My symptoms went from severe to moderate. If I fall off the diet then I have bad days. I have no idea how I got it. I'm a vegetarian, I've never really eaten junk food. Weight is a problem for me too, I gain it very easily. As of this week I started working out at the gym. I'm hoping this helps.
@youneke But my biggest problem is a costant urge 24/7 to have a bowel movement and every time I do I don't feel empty. It's gotten to the point where I guess if I have to go or not. This is what's getting me depressed. I can't enjoy biking or my favourite activities if I feel the need to go to the bathroom and not knowing whether I really do or not. I can live with the other symptoms, just this one is really getting me down.
@ThePantyDroper We all have this.. I use to go bathroom like 4, 5 times a day, but now with my controlled eating and so on. I have managed to do twice a day and sometimes only one. When you get the feeling to go bathroom during the day, just fight it, it will go away. Make it a habbit to go early in the mornings or late in the night and fight all the other urges. Eventually you will get accustomed to it and you can bike normal again. TRUST ME THIS IS WHAT I'M WORKING ON.
@ThePantyDroper Same as me and same as most of us. It's not going to happen over night. Just start living a more healthy lifestyle and control the IBS. DO NOT let it control you. Go early in the morning then when you get the urges during the day ignore them. They will stop and you prolly won't even notice. Then go again at nite. A couple months from now stop going at nite then go only in the morning. You will be fine in time. But you must believe and do the right stuff.
@ThePantyDroper It's not going to be easy. I have been in pain all weekend because I broke the rules I have to follow. It is going to be hard for all of us. But anytime you need help don't be afraid to ask me. I know what I have to do but it is still hard following it, then I suffer because of it. I am still learning to control it though.
@ThePantyDroper Yeah mate don't let it get you like that. It sparked some depression from me but learn to control it. Experiment what works and what doesn't. I use Buscopan tablets and they work amazingly. It will never go away, but it's been controlled and I have conquered it for now. Don't let it be the cause of ending your life, socially or otherwise.
@AWhiteMansAfro Thanks, I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. I've recently discovered exercise helps a lot so I've been going to the gym almost everyday. I also discovered iberogast. Takes away the gas and bloating. I've felt so much better in the past month.
If I had to stop eating foods that irritated my bowels I'd have to stop eating EVERYTHING. Some times all irritates me and sometimes non does. I hate this crap. I have had it all my life and I am 27.
"Fortunately it won't destroy your organs or shorten your life" haha! yeah maybe, but looking nine months preggo NINE months out of the year will certainly RUIN your life!
I guees I feel for you guys... I've had it since I was born, and they still can't get rid of it. They can't find whats causing it, and sometimes I'm in so much pain I can't move... No-one knows I have IBS, because I've had it for so long that I know how to hide it.
Why don't all medical experts automatically rule out any approach that involves adopting a "non-chaotic, non-stressful life"? Such an approach simply is not realistic. People are far too busy and too overburdened with life's complexities to change everything in the hopes of reducing their symptoms of IBS or other ailments.
Personally, I'd like some HARD FACTS. I mean look to the right: there are 50 people claiming that THEY alone know how to cure IBS, and they all suggest something DIFFERENT.
Also, my doctor prescribed me a medicine called Dicyclomine which works very well. Of course that's only for when I eat so a few hours after I eat when it wears off the pain comes back but those are some awesome few hours >______>
I've had IBS for four years ever since I caught salmonella from peanut butter. At first I refused to leave the house because my anxiety would kick in but that was no way for a 18 year old to live so I had to figure out a way to ignore the whenever I left the house. My way of doing this was to listen to music. I never leave the house without my ipod now. I still had a problem when it came to things like getting my license and taking my GED test (9 hours of hell) but you just gotta tough it out.
sadly i have had this for 3 year, its ruined my life, the pains too much to handle, i tryed to kill my self with strong class a drugs just three months ago because no one will help me, i cant live like this, and i probly will try again, i feel for every one of you that has this, i hope it gets easyer for you, i need help
I have diverticulosis an ibs an im only 19 years old...my doctor just tried me on some new meds....hope to go it works, cause just like everyone else i wake up hurting like no other!!!
ive had it scince i was born! and i have extreem drepression so its hard to be happy. i have ansomnia so i cant sleep. my life is hard to balance so its hard to not have pains left and right... i throw up cause i cant poo. the asid levils get to high and i vomit blood... i need help
All this bs about trying dieting. Nothing new here. I.B.S has as much chance of dissapearing as i do of winning £1million. So i refuse to listen to this "advice". Fibre=Major pain
It's no joke, when I had my first ibs attack, I was screaming hysterically in the er for about 3 hours. I literally wanted to die. The pain is worse than childbirth and I've been to go into shock from the pain. It sometimes feel like if you just ruptured an intestine and have appendicitis. Of course cat scans come back normal. Ibs is also secondary to fibromyalgia. If you have FM then most likely you will get FM. Possible causes are too much Serotonin, too much intestinal flora.
