How to make fuses PART 1 OF 2

Please, check out my video. I made a fuse of matches , rope & water.

It burns always with 1.5 cm/sec (1 inch/sec).

The fuse is 100% windproof and only need a small spark to ignite.

det är natriumnitrat i santamarias inte kaliumnitrat, det är ett substitut! det brinner 80% segare, vilket betyder inge bra

pyromaniac in 3:02 you say you need sodium nitrate (NaN03) but on the pakkage you see it says salpeter wich is potassium nitrate (Kn03)

so or it's just me or you got it wrong

true butt there is a product called

"Chile saltpeter" which is sodium nitrate and has very similar uses. so mabey some brands put sodium nitrate instead of potassium nitrate in there pruduct.

what you really should try is baking sugar in the oven until it turns to a carmel and then add salpeter to it and it forms a sticky flameable substance.

There are many types of salpeter. This type was NaNO3. They are nitrates (they all end with NO3)Ex, NaNO3, KNO3 and sometimes Ba(NO3)2 can be called salpeter.

better living through chemistry :) Based on you opinion - what would you suggest as the best method to safely detonate Acetone Peroxide? (many ways to do this one) but what would you suggest?

Well acetone peroxide is never safe. Safest way would be with an e-match (electric ignition) and standing far away from it.

But if you don't have that a long visco is safest. Just make sure that no sparks from the fuse can ignite the peroxide to early!

I made an electronis detonator using a doorbell as a switch, and powers off of 4 AA batteries. Do you think this has enough power to detonaite the AP? Or should I use a stronger battery

Use an e-match ignited by your device. There is a good guide for how to make them at pyroguide(dot)com (fuse section)

hah funny story about visco fuse and my bomb i had my friend light 120 grams of flash powder and the fuse which was like 5 feet long burnt out for some reason to where it had like 2 feet left so i told him to light it up again just run really fast and he did it but idk how he got the fuse to throw a spark in it even tho the whole thing was enclosed and it went off about 3 seconds after he lit luckily he was far enough away that all he did was get hit by shrapnel but didnt hurt him too bad

Use a regular blackpowder blend and add more

charcoal like 1:2 mix and that will slow down the mixture and still insure fire to the charge.

Better use KNO3 instead of NaNO3, which is very hydroscopic. I see the NaNO3 fuse is disapointing. The tape match burns well though.

Yes it was quite disapointing. And I didn't use KNO3 because I wanted to make a fuse with easy to get ingredients.
