about a year ago i created a small dog character that wore clothes and cud talk. i never knew what a furry was until a boy called me a furfag when he saw one of my drawings. then i found out about fursuits and anthrocon and it blows my mind that the small little drawing i did for fun turns into this! Besides, some people are naturally shy, and stuff like dressing up in a suit helps them overcome that barrier and have fun with others. AC is a convention for (of course) furries. there is an art show, tables where you can buy art, plushies, costumes and much more. there is the artist ally where you can buy costom drawings from your fav artist. theres the fursuit games, the fursuit perade, dances, and tons more. you can learn more about it on the website anthrocon (dot) org

One downside to ac is the fursuiters aren't as lively in the fursuit parade. I'll be going to rmfc this year. It's the closest one to me. Well actually I'm right in the middle of a few of them. I am amazed by all the fursuits and persona's I am wanting to become a furry because it seems like I been one all along but denied the fact. The first time I ever thought myself as an animal period was when I was my daughters age and watching zooblie zoo . And now my daughter is showing her animal side by pretending to be a puppy 60% of the time LOL so I think it runs in the family XD

It wasn't really lucky at all! I waited for coupons and sales [Which as stupid as it it to stalk papers and online sales, it saved A LOT of money!] I suggest buying from small, family owned places if they're around, they tend to be a lot cheaper than places like Jo Anns and the online stores!

The fur is also the most expensive part, and hardest to get. :(

It's mostly because of the economy, really. They're usually extraordinarily expensive and people fresh into and out of college just don't have that type of money anymore.
