This happened to me yesterday, but on online multiplayer.

I rammed my jeep into an enemy car and just got out before it happened. I was expecting to run for my life when I heard a god-awful racket and saw them doing this, though the enemy players were still trapped in the car.

One got smacked upside the head by a back bumper, and the other one fired the mounted gun wildly in a desperate attempt to kill me until he died when they both finally detonated.
