Qasam rockets are made within Gaza territory and are comprised of basic everyday materials that can be bought in a store and composed into explosives by a few good chemists.
The rockets you were talking about are russian "Grad" rockets supplied to Hamas through Egypt by Iran. One of those nasty things can easily waste an entire house. A friend of mine had a few of those land in his town.

The sirens signal 1 minute before impact, how much time do you think people have to get off the streets?

I served in the Jordan valley with many palestinian villages around. Nothing against a palestinian state. Palestinians as well, only the people who have from the beginning cut their gut and spewed blood to prevent Israel from being. HAMAS opinion hasn't changed. Back in 67 when Jerusalem was occupied by Jordanians, their archeologists destroyed all evidence of there ever being a jewish temple. (Ancient money, artifacts pottery and such); anything that could prove the jews once resided there. People like that will never have live in peace with us.

The closest the palestinian auothority ever got was right after Camp David Summit of 2000 when even after being offered 95% of the west bank and east jerusalem, they still refused. Ar the next meeting they said: if you completely withrdaw any settlments near jerusalem and get your army out then.. MAYBE we will negotiate. That's fucking nasty.

Current borders? meaning what...? The seperation wall or the taba agreements? Let me make it clear again, the east jerusalem issue was NEVER the real issue. We agreed to give it to them, but what they wanted was the return of near a million refugees who would "safely" distribute across the land. Israel wanted 10% of temporary, moderate control in the west bank just untill the refugees settle in. No go.. why? because they wanted to resettle in their 47 borders, meaning Israel included.

Khlaed Mesal actually said it when he met Jimmy Carter in July 2008. They reached an agreement whereby he would respect a two state solution with the 1967 to present day borders and east jerusalem of course. With responce to your point how would you feel if you have been kicked off your own land in 1947 forcibly. You have to understand the arab posiiton on this.

I understand tha arab position regarding 1947, but what I would've done is accept Israel's existance and that it has the right to be as much as a Palestine. Much like the sovereignty of Bahrain from Iran, Palestine could prosper alongside of Israel if only there wasn't such a deep rooted, religious antipathy going on.

They stopped because when they came into power they needed international recognition. So Khaled Meshal outlawed sucide bombings. These walls are only going to make the situatuon worse. The make the palestinians fell like there in a prison. Again no country agrees with that wall. If it were removed I can assure you peace talks would resume.

Well, as far as Israel's concerned from 2002 -2005 the bombings stopped significantly as they have because of the wall so Hamas election didn't really change much. Everything that has to do Gaza's economical and social structure there wasn't much of a change either aside from a growing number of military peoples. There were and still are weapon's smuggling and storage within schools, hospitals and the "late" gazan university o_o

That is obviously a lie. I knew people who were there during the fighting and they told me Hamas fighters were firing at them from a hospital. It was said that Ismail Haniyah himself took shelter in that building. In any case, the fighting was very difficult because the soldiers had specific instructions not to fire at hospitals.
The university in Gaza had storage of qasam rockets and laboratories where they were produced. They thought Israel wouldn't dare bomb a university, they were wrong

Qasam rockets are made within Gaza territory and are comprised of basic everyday materials that can be bought in a store and composed into explosives by a few good chemists.

The rockets you were talking about are russian "Grad" rockets supplied to Hamas through Egypt by Iran. One of those nasty things can easily waste an entire house. A friend of mine had a few of those land in his town.
You know those can be a lot scarier than the blunt Israeli attacks on Gaza, because at least there people were warned specifically to leave their homes.
With a Grad you never really know when and where it's gonna hit.. that's terror

There's a few good miles between Gaza and Khan Yunis to Rafah. There's also the beach.
The air raid shelter is a small, windowless room installed in the backmost corner of most houses and does reduces chances of being hit but far from 100%. A Grad has enough power to plow through it. The sirens signal 1 minute before impact, how much time do you think people have to get off the streets?

A few good miles. The place is 9 by 12 miles. Thats tiny. There is no where to go. The beach faces naval bombardment. The israeli towns have an air raid shelter which can withstand most bombs hamas have. 1 minute is luxery compared to what the gazans have. They have no shelter to move to no protection.

Correction, they had hours before the operation started. Check on google earth just how much open territory they have to escape to. It wasn't about that at all, people started running in all directions when the bombardment started but nobody thought of escaping beforehand. Think, every palestinian has a large family who wouldn't dare run unless the house patriarch permits it. "We will stay and die if we must" - familiar with that mentality?

I served in the Jordan valley with many palestinian villages around. I remember people would leave their sick children by the gates of our base because they couldn't afford to admit them to the Jericho hospital. The base's medical team offered free care. Our army isn't interested in unecessary killing, believe me. Every soldier recieves a pocketbook with a list of values of the IDF spirit, one of them is never to use your weapon against innocents. In the latest op tho those morals went to crap..
