Damn that brought back some memories...I was thirteen when I heard this song, and I still remember wantingone of this vans more than anythingin the world. It was part yearning for a vehicle, part having a cool room of your own, and all about getting the chicks
Hey i have the same van you have, its a line 6 and 3 on tree, ment running condition I'm trying to restore this van, I was 5 when my father put this thing together from engine to the carpet inside, but needless to say you have a nice van man, I'm here in dallas so mabe I will c u on the high way
I remember building one of these in 79! it was a 74 Chevy. JC Whitney Auto Parts was my best friend for custom parts then! I see they are making a come back!
Farout, Dude!! LOL!! No, really, one of my favorite songs from the 70's. I miss the custom vans of the 70's, and wanted one as a kid, and now as an adult, I still want one! Where have they all gone? Keep up the great work and videos, and Keep on Truckin!
I had a 94 Chevy Choo-Choo Customs conversion van when I was stationed at Ft.Drum,NY,spent more time in the van that in the barracks(with my lady friend of course)
This took me straight back to the 70's, CB radios and vans!!! My dad's first was an ex Bell telephone Dodge with three on the tree. The next was a 77 yellow Chevy shorty. Damn, I'm old now!
Oh! A little confession, I took my first drink of beer at age 5 when my dad had been working on the van he was customizing (a used South Central Bell '65 Chevy) and went in the house for something and a left his bottle sitting on the edge of the van. I came from the back yard where I'd been playing and was looking for something to drink and took a big swig of that Miller since it was there after all. I remember putting it down too fast and it shot that beer foam up my nose, lol...
Proud owner of a 93 G-20 Chevy Work van, never fails to get me on the job, loved the song back then, love the vid you made. You really need to experience
Van-life to feel the flowing, fulfilling feeling of the van owner passion.
Thanks! I've got an '87 G-20 work van and fell in love with these things in the 70's when I was a little kid and my dad was customizing a '65 Chevy van (one of the flat faced ones with the engine in between the seats). I had a Dodge B-200 SWB custom job when I was 18. A jim dandy decked out with hardwood parkay squares, desert murals, a little metal plate on the back that had the hippie and "keep on truckin'..." inscribed oh! and in big reflective letters said "GOOD TIMES MACHINE" I miss it!
i hate vans

I propose that the words have been recorded wrong for this song...I think the chorus goes like this:
" 'Cause Like a Princess she was laying there..." I just think it sounds more like what I am hearing...

Which words were wrong?
