  • My parents didn't subscribe to cable until 1985. Before that I watched my music videos on a show called M2V in San Francisco courtesy of KTVU Channel 2- now the Fox station.

  • I remember while channel-surfing I came upon MTV in 1981 I was so happy that my cable company finally provided it that I jump up and down like a maniac.

  • That guitar going into the TV at the end...that's what most people think of MTV now.

  • MTV used to be cool, but now it's just crap

  • I love it. It's hard to imagine now that MTV was once cool. The Talking Heads? Pat Benatar? The Police? David Bowie? Those were the days!

  • amen lol

  • righty right

  • @CultureCrash9 I agree! What does MTV, TODAY, hope to accomplish with their current programming? In my opinion, if MTV would play MUSIC (that's MUSIC! NOT rap/hip hop and/or these STUPID soap-opera-like dramas/skits aimed at teenagers and/or young adults), the generation who were born in 1980-or later, wouldn't be so dimwitted about music.

  • @AngelofAnguish agrees but now we got vh1 classic remembers when vh1 was kool to

  • Yeah I knew ALL these ppl. I was just a year old too...matter of fact, I have all their CD's! what a great period for pop culture.
