What I understood by deadstick was RC plane not responding to one of the control axes (control stick), usually because of PCM failsafe. Engine... can flame out simply? I have seen many videos called deadstick when plane rides to ground with no control.

Deadstick = forced landing due to engine cut out/no propulsion. Flight controls may still be partly or fully functional.
