  • IM' A SPANYARD PUERTO RICAN and i have alot of pride being puerto rican.. alot of people think im white but i tell them No! im puerto rican... I hate my skin complection it's called struggle not white !!

  • @Djteedoe420 what you said makes no sense, you said your a "spaniard puerto rican" spaniard=white puerto rican spaniard = white, most puerto ricans are white why hate your skin complection

  • @WW3Future What she said is actually true.Spain and puerto rico are 2 different countries (PR a commonwealth)spaniard-is people born in Spain located in Europe and other Europeans countries don't consider spaniards white because 400 yrs ago they were taken over by native indians and arabs.Puerto rico-is 61%taino,amerindian 27%african & 2.1%cacausian,basically they are more taino than anything.NOT WHITE.how i know all this?i read and research.im also Spaniard/Puerto Rican/Cherokee indian.

  • @jewelzqueen i keep getting updates on these comments i have no idea how, but my cousin was pribally talking about this don't mind him -.- lol

  • @WW3Future Oh okay :) lol

  • @WW3Future My dad was born in Spain, barceleona and so were his mom and dad who migrated to puerto rico yrs ago and my mom is half cherokee, her dad migrated to pr,mayaguez in his 20sand half puerto rican, her mom born in pr,ponce

  • I spoke about my dad so as he is the one who can fill the census(as it is for "jefes de familia")and he says he doen't want to put "taino"because he also want to embrace his african and European ancestry and he says putting latino is like putting mixed as Latino are miexed people, what is your opinion on this?

  • Latino is Not Mixed race dude! Latino/Latin people are the Southern Europeans like people from Spain,Italy,France,Portugal...Basically any nation of people descended and culturally related directly by the Romans. The Romans are the true Latino's, and they are White "Caucasian".

  • @samuraioj Actually it is not limited to Southern Europeans. There were migrations from Germany, Ireland and Netherlands to Puerto Rico. Especially since the 1800s when Spain gave the Real Cedula de Gracia, thereby allowing Europeans not from Spain to come to their colonies.

  • @samuraioj

Exactly, we are only Spanish speaking mixed people, sorry for the confusion.

  • @Fulanipr saying that sombody is mixed is an illusion on its own because general speaking, everybody is mixed now...but everybody only has one continental orgin with a few cultural influences here and there.....

the way i see it, puerto ricans are taino indians with spanish influence here and there.

  • @arab3515

and Spanish and African mixture in them. ;)

  • @prjibaro1 okay so let me clarify, PUERTO RICANS HAVE ORIGINS OF TAINO INDIAN BLOOD WITH SPANISH AND NEGRO ANCESTRIAL INFLUENCES

i am a negro (origin of negro blood, meaning most of my ancestors are negros) but i also have creole ancestrial influences....

  • @arab3515

Exaclty, but all Puertoricans have diferent ancestries, meaning there are PR of pred white ancestors, other of pred black ancestors and others with pred Taino ancestors.

  • @prjibaro1 correct, the pred black puerto ricans are known as AFRO-PR, and the pred white puerto ricans are the true SPANIARDS of puerto ricans...but those who have pred taino ancestros ARE TAINO puerto ricans

its alot more simple than people make it, but the issue that comes up is what we call "race"

race is a big illusion, we are ETHNICITIES before we are "races"

  • @arab3515

I consider Mongoloid, negroid and caucasoid as races, but consider American, Cuban as ethnicities.

  • @prjibaro1 yes, being identified as mongoloid (asian), caucasoid (white), or negroid (black) are simplified terms to identify people WHICH IS A BIG ILLUSION, not ever asian is the same, not every european is the same, and not every african is the same.

but if you identify specifically such as chineese, german, and nigerian, THEN ITS ALOT MORE SPECIFIC.

If my father is spanish and my mother is japaneese, that would make me i am spanish with japaneese ancestrial influence.

  • @arab3515

Yes, Race can't be used as an identity, but rather you can identify with your culture. There are sub-races on each macro -race.

  • @prjibaro1 right

  • Great job as always brother... Haho!
