At $10k a pop I think I'd be putting it in a different case especially if you were a gigging muso. Lovely sounds created from the customisation but $10k is a lot of money to pay for a "COPY" of an original guitar. IMO. you could probably build one yourself and get a pro set up for a tenth of that and serously guys whats with all this ageing to guitars these days, who's conning who? next you'll be buying ya shoes from a charity shop for that didnt buy em yesterday look.
He Jim, ik zie nu net pas dat je gereageerd had op mijn Giant Steps tribute to The Police filmpje! Bedankt alsnog (6 mnden later ;) voor het compliment... groetjes van de zangeres van het filmpje :-) keep on rocking!
"It was a few days after Ike Turner 's passing December 2007 (There was a wreath on Ike's cemented handprint) when Jim from Holland picked up his $10k guitar."
- My question is how did Tina allow someone to put a wreath on her face?
Comming to The Prime Spot (and say hello to KaRi), why not. Although I have all reasons to be modest regarding my guitarplay. But maybe who knows. Thanks for your comment. Jim from Holland
Very cool purchase. I love the police and andy summers guitar playing, and finally got to see them live last summer in Oakland. I was literally 20 feet from the stage in front of Andy and he is truly a remarkable guitarist. All those wild chords and the effects he uses. I was blown away.
Hi Robert, Yes, Andy Summers is a very inspiring guitar-player. I'm often listening how he play's the songs and then try to play it myself. I've seen them play in Amsterdam last september, unfortunatly I sat at the back so only saw them on those big videoscreens. The ambience was great cause the Police played everyones favourite songs.
Last september I checked out since years the Fender site. And then I saw the one and only guitar I wanted to have in my life, as I am a Police fan since Roxanne came out. A dream came out. Thanks for comment. Jim from Holland
I asumed too that there was no battery in the guitar, cause I heard no distortion after I turned the switch on and turning the third knob. But at home I removed the backplate and saw a 9V battery was already in the guitar. I was confused, cause I thought there was a distortion device built in. So I called GuitarCenter, they checked out an other Andy S. Telecaster and came to conclusion that the device buit-in, only amplifies the guitarsignal.
Someone also told that stringtrees (you know, those 2 close to the tuners) never has been used before 1970. This guitar is the icon of The Police music: Who is that student Andy bought this guitar from in 1972? And who is the former owner who made all these changes? What is their reaction now? There are many questions about this guitar. At least I would have expect Fender to explane. Thanks for your reply. Best regards JfromH

@SteveBZ69 I'd never spend $500 on a guitar. But maybe because I don't play..

Now you have to spend another ten grand to get all his classic effects pedals.
Then, maybe another ten for an old Roland guitar synth and the module.
