I am old enough to remember seeing these cartoons when I was a kid when they were first broadcast. That is so many years ago, Hulk fanboys did not even get "owned" or "pwned" into every letter to Marvel (way before personal computers) like they do on YouTube now. In other words, the good old days.
I remember when these fuckers first aired on Teletoon 10 years ago. Thought it was the coolest shit. Little did I know I was watching The King's work.
In the original Hulk #1 comic, he was gray. Stan Lee didn't like the way it looked in print, and there were some problems printing with gray. So the everlovin' Hulk became green. I had the flimsy pull out record with a song that went "His skin is green, a horrible green.. His eyes are mean, like you never seen..A mountain of a man, way stronger than, the every day man, better get away man".
@Agentsub they sound like, "doc bruce banner, belted by gamma rays, turns into the hulk. ain't he unglamorate? wreckin' the town with the power of a bull. ain't so monster clown. who is as loveable? as ever lovin' hulk, hulk, hulk."
Ah this gives me childhood memories, I always rented this VHS tape at the local library and loved it every time I saw it, The Hulk has always been one of my favorite superheroes/antiheroes.
this cartoon is basically ish 1 of the Hulk from the 60's. Aside from some dialogue changes, the only other difference is that Hulk is green in this, not GREY like he was originally meant to be.
The guy who did the voice of Hulk in this cartoon was perfect. Nowadays they always make hulk mute, in the comic he talked all the time, & I pictured him just like this
Curse my love for Bruse Baner without his glasses (he looks sooooooo old with them on)... but seriously, what scientist is that ripped... (curse my love for lovable marvel characters)
Cool jack kirby art.I remeber watching these when I was 3 or 4 in 1966 on CKLW ch9 Detroit/Windsor.There also was a cool marvel superheroes song to advertise these cartoons.
I used to watch these cartoons when i was kid in the early 1980s. I used to love them! At least they were true to the comics unlike certain other adaptions...
My next door neighbor looks like the Gorgon.I read these stories years later-pretty actuarate adaptions here.Saw these cartoons first-then read the actual comics.
Marvel wasnt one hundredth the size in 1966,that it is today.DC was still a MUCH bigger company, and marvel was desperate to strike while the iron was hot,and hot it was in 66!!The Batman tv series, sold a LOT of DC comics. 1966 and 67 were some of the best boom years the comics industry has ever had.
Did someone seriously just say the 90's FF series was better than this? What an idiot, that series is regarded as the "Batman and Robin" of Marvel series. The current series even makes THAT pile of crap look like "Perfect Blue"
This was the product of their time, back when characters had depth, and morals guiding them, not the sensationlist crap you see with "The Ultimates" where they spend more time making the heroes look like wife-beaters and predatory PR leeches and stalkers.
Part of the reason some of the kids here thinks this sucks is because people in the 60s had a longer attention span. The garbage made in the 80s and 90s got by on action alone = faster moving flashy images, watered-down (lazy) art with zero quality. If you've got no attention span (and bad taste) you'll figure it sucks. If you think the art itself sucks, ask yourselves why these comic isssues are worth hundreds now.
This is immensely better than any of the Marvel garbage they've turned out since then. For starters, this is Kirby's artwork, which the lame-asses from the 80s and 90s can't even begin to touch. To the moron comparing this to Disney: the stills are DELIBERATE. It's meant to capture the still panels of the comics directly, a different form of animation. Please, do your homework before you open your mouths and make yourselves sound like absolute imbeciles. Keep silent and fake your intelligence.
You must be on crack, this old shit is lame.Though I'm sure it was dope back then, but compared to the Iron Man series, the FF4 series and the X-Men,Spider-Man & Hulk series from the 90s it's garbage.
Lmao, the only one smoking crack around here seems to be you, dude. You don't want to compare the art of Jack Kirby (hailed as one of the greatest comic artists of all time) to the hack-made garbage of the 90s. Trust me you'll lose. Artists back then COULD ACTUALLY DRAW! THe least you can do is show respect cause without this there would be no 90s cartoons, etc.
It's 60's tech/animation. This was considered progressive animation. Taken in context, this stuff is great! Cadorbolin; if you really think it sucks; I want to buy it from you! I LOVE this stuff! Thanks for posting!
This is ridiculous. Walt Disney DESTROYED this crap with anything he touched. 30 years before this nonsense at that. A low, low time for American animation, this.
@cadorbolin I agree. I was 12, back in '66, when this came out. First of all, it ticked me off that I'd already PAID to read the damned stories, and the fact that they'd obviously just photographed the comics really bit. Even the Flintstones had better animation.

Kirby was a brilliant storyteller... a terrible writer but great at telling a story with visuals. His comic panel layouts tell the story beautifully.
