  • To bad to many people thought Johnny Lyons was Springsteen light.. what can ya do about stupid people?

  • @DrFeelRotten No shit. SSJ doesn't owe shit to Bruce,

I've seen SSJ and the Asbury Jukes with the great Billy Rush. I've seen Bruce five times.

    SSJ wins.

  • could you possible upload the song from this same album "take it inside"? All I can find are live versions unfortunately.

  • REALLY COOL!

  • This is one of my favorite albums. Bought it in 1978. Bought the CD around 1997. Now I can listen online. Thanks!

  • wow just wow

  • SSJ kicks the shit out of Bon Jovi

  • My personal favorite by SSJ is the album "The Jukes" Wait in Vain, Living in the Real World. Fricking MASTERPIECE!!

  • d.d. castiel get rid of her

  • This is great!

  • Great song. Great songs on the entire LP. The songs on the LP have an early to mid 60's "Soul" sound. This one, I remember a reviewer saying, sounds like a tune that would have been sung by Dianna Ross and the Supremes. When I listen to this song that's who I hear. Loved the followup to this album also. Have this and the followup on vinyl. Can't find it on CD

  • Great memories...oh '78, can it really be 32 years ago?

  • @viewfromthebronx No, it was just yesterday.

  • kz5757 - This is actually one of the first songs that Johnny wrote and he handed to Bruce and Steven to clean it up a little and therefore they received a writing credit - but it's 98% Johnny's song.

  • Should be the title track for the TV Show - RESCUE ME!!

    Get it Dennis?

  • Should be the title track for the TV Show - RESCUE ME!!

    Do you hear me Dennis?

  • Having worked with pro artists through the years I can tell you few write their own music...AND few deliver it with as much heart as SSJ and the Asbury Jukes

  • Well said 1776freedom. These guys were great, but they never could get out of Bruce's shadow.

  • Great song!! Sounds like "The Boss" produced this song. Just my opinion.

  • southside johnny was and still is a great songwriter and perfomer

  • great great song. steve van zant wrote it. he also sings backup

  • I like Southside Johnny mmegb65 but Springsteen did write both The Fever, Hearts of Stone, other songs and partly this song. That's not a criticism of Southside Johnny just a fact. I saw them last night in Cardiff and they were really good.

  • Superb song and band. I crown Southside Johnny the King of all NJ musicians (and far beyond Jersey boundaries) as of this moment. This song, The Fever and Without Love earns him priceless rewards that will one day be reaped. Sorry Johnny but it might take a little more time before people wake up from their slumber and realize what sparkly gems your songs are. Please don't hate us for being so dim.

  • definitely brings back memories of my teenage years...love these guys.

  • Brings back memories of down the shore.

  • Thanks for letting me enjoy this again, and again, and again...

  • I love this song,It's one that you forget about...then you hear it again and freak!!!!

  • This song leaves bruises - brilliant!

  • Love it ! 1979 Rockdisco "Badewanne" in Bielefeld, Germany, when i was young.

Great songs, great sound. I`m trapped again !

  • I can't find this song anywhere for karaoke.

  • thats good for mankind

  • The video was great too.

  • Thanks for sharing this great song!

  • Great song from a great album. Going to see Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes this Friday (02/20) at the Sea Blues Fest in Clearwater,FL. Hope they play this song, Thanks for posting !

  • Thanks for putting this song up. Hearts of Stone was one of the best albums ever. I bought when it 1st came out. My teenage daughter loves this song. She was born in 93. Too bad Johnny Lyons never got his big break.
