  • Tofu is amazing, I eat it whenever i crave meat.

  • Made it today and I am sad it's all gone, need to make it soon again. Lovely recipe thank you.

  • @XarraX9009 Thank you so much for trying this and commenting - I appreciate it :)

  • Going to try this. I've tried tofu about three times but hated the spongey texture & bland taste (I know everyone says it takes on the taste of what you put it in but I didn't find that to be true). Hopefully this will be better.

  • @vegwannabe I hope you like this - let me know what you think :)

  • Wow, I will try it!

  • @ag77400 Thank you - let me know how it turns out :)

  • Looks good! I will try it. Seems like it could work for just about any sauce. :)

  • @radianceguitarista Yes, it would work with other sauces - thank you so much for watching and commenting :)

  • I wood eat tofu, soy milk, rice, fish, fruits and vegetables everyday if it all wasn't so darn expensive. If I won the lotto, I wood start my own farm.

  • what if we dont have a oven?

  • I am a meat eater and damn i remember when my freinds mom cookes tofu with noodles and such it was soo good. In the near future i will have to make tofu becasue it is actually very good.

  • im a lacto-ovo vegetarian (for now in college, being vegan is next to impossible until i can get a better income) but tomorrow I am making this and i cannot wait. Thank you!

  • @mythks00 Thank you so much for trying this :)

  • I've heard marinating the tofu overnight helps it soak up the flavor as well. Do you think this method of cooking holds the same about of flavor throughout the tofu? Thanks! Looks amazing! :)

  • I wish you were my gf. I actually eat everything but my sister's a vegan so I'm gonna make this for her it looks delicious. I'm gonna watch more of your videos. take care

  • @Robby303 Thank you :)

  • I'm vegan, what can I use instead of eggs?

  • @MissPandaaaz Hi- Another viewer wrote this suggestion; they said to use "egg substitutes such as Ener-g from health food stores. You can also make ur own by mixing one tablespoon of soy flour or arrowroot w/ two tablespoons of water." :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy thank you! :)

  • I made this last night after watching your video, it turned out great, thanks!

  • @dallasmavericks11 Thank you so much for trying this and commenting - I really appreciate it :)

  • I honestly hated tofu 4 years but then I got some sense knocked into me and turned vegetarian

Now I eat tofu like they're french fries

    I'm trying this recepie

  • Egg whites! Crap there goes the vegetarian idea to this dish =/ anyone know a good substitute?

  • The pre baking trick is great, I've always wanted my tofu more crispy is some of my stir fry dishes. Thanks!

  • @robbykband Thank you for watching :)

  • 222nd like!

  • Just made this recipe, let me tell you....it came out alot crispier and lighter in color than in your video, it smelled like chicken a little, it looked great really.......and it tasted ....simply.....AMAZING!!!!!! =D thanks alot, everytime i buy tofu im making this recipe, thanks again. Ciao !!

  • Wow youre gorgeous...uhm back to my question. Im actually using the tofu for nutritional purposes, and wanted to know if you add the bbq sauce and fry them etc will the tofu lose its nutritional value? Such as the proteins, vitamins, etc?

  • awesome job presenting,,,,,, It seems like a nice dish but, there are sugar, carbs, and cholesterol in this dish,,,, need to use sugar free bbq sauce and eliminate the flour and the peanut oil,,, can he fried in skillet using canola oil flavored SPRAY.

  • I LOVE TOFU MAN!

  • why bake the tofu?

  • @laesphanie probably that they dry out and get crispy, i think

  • @gyahahalol - exactly!

  • I freeze my tofu cubes ahead of time and it makes them even chewier! So yummy. In Philadelphia there is a sandwich shop that makes Buffalo tofu hoagies like this but with buffalo wing sauce instead of BBQ - omg. SO GOOD!

  • does it have to be peanut oil or can i use corn/veg oil?

  • @rockinsocks13 You can use corn or veg oil as well :)

  • Shouldn't it be 15-20 minutes?

  • I like the way you say Towfyu!

  • just tried this out and im in love!! thank u for sharing the recipe! will be making more of this :)

  • delcious

  • For Vegans, do you need to use the egg whites, or can you substitute with something else?

  • @Junis1st Hi- Another viewer wrote this suggestion; they said to use "egg substitutes such as Ener-g from health food stores. You can also make ur own by mixing one tablespoon of soy flour or arrowroot w/ two tablespoons of water." :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thank you very much for the prompt feedback. I will definitely give it a shot. Well done on the video.

  • LEGIT!

  • You are so going to my play list. Thanks for the video, now I am a better cook because I watched you. Thanks again.

    :D

  • Omg, this is soooo good! I just made this, and it's delicious!!!!

  • My mouth is watering!

  • Looks yummy, but high in sodium & sugar. Any alternative suggestions? Maybe serve over brown rice and not use so much fat?

  • Holy Steps! Looks yummy though! :) This seems like one of those dishes where you devour it in like 30 seconds but it was worth the effort.

  • Great job presenting this!

  • @lowlightga Thank you :)

  • Love the video!

I am learning about tofu, I ususally order it when we go out to eat Chinese. You made this look easy so I am building courage to try to make this at home, Thanks :)

  • @ibemamo Thank you - I hope you try it :)

  • Thanks for the tip. I always wondered how whole foods made their tasty tofu. Now i know. Bake, then fry it. Great!

  • @need2know4 Thank you :)

  • Thank you so much for your response!

    Have a wonderful day! <3

  • I am newly vegan, I was wondering what I could use instead of eggs?

  • @pinkyamanbagirl Another viewer suggested "egg substitutes such as Ener-g from health food stores. No egg beaters etc. (they are not vegan). u can also make ur own by mixing one tablespoon of soy flour or arrowroot w/ two tablespoons of water." :)

  • @EasyRecipesHQ Thank you for watching :)

  • i just made it and since my dads too lazy to get me some bbq sauce i mixed A1 and Heinz 57 w.ith a little bit of catchup and its pretty good.

  • @thesuperkyle69 lol - thank you for trying this :)

  • This is really good. Eating it now!!

  • @daughteroftheking01 Thank you :)

  • Is it bad to place the tofu back in the fridge if I was too full to finish? Like how do I save the tofu for later or the next day? Great video btw :)

  • @darkmaniac11 Just make sure that the tofu is covered in water when you store it (in a tupperware or whatever) or else it will turn pink and mushy, as long as you keep it covered in fresh water, it will be fine.

  • @darkmaniac11 For this dish you can just store it in a tupperware container (not covered in water b/c it will ruin the bbq.) It will last just a few days - I wouldn't keep it more than 4 days though. Thank you :)

  • how much BBQ sauce if I want to double the recipe?

  • @flipperISdead For the coating just do 2 separate bowls of the 2 egg whites plus the 2 tbsp of bbq sauce; and then for the sauce at the end use 1 and 1/2 cups of bbq sauce :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy thanks! :)

  • Wt flour is it..All purpose i guess...or wheat flour

  • @zytimus Here I use all purpose flour :)

  • Where are you from, you have an interesting accent. Tennessee?

  • You are pretty and this is an amazing recipe.

  • i know this is delicious but it lookslikedoggy food

  • yumm! i will definetly try this tonight for me and my sister ^.^

  • I think I will try this, I have never thought about pre roasting tofu. Thanks! Also what can I use as an alternative for th eegg wash, I am Vegan. Thanks!

  • This looks good! Thanks for posting! :) How many servings does it make?

  • @Sternschnuppen85 It makes about 3 servings :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thanks! :) If you don't use all three servings right away, does it refrigerate well, too?

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thanks! How long will this dish last in the fridge?

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I just tried the recipe today-it's very good! Thanks for posting!! :)

  • Too complicated to make although I love tofu.

  • Cute! Looks yummy. Easy to make vegan too!

  • ............it looks like meat! I bet if I were to substitute tofu for ground beef or pork, I could stifle some of my weight gain.

  • @gorillaMaticIAP Definitely! Try this recipe (or any tofu recipe) and you'll realize that Tofu really is incredibly versatile, it's also much more nutritious than meat (high protein, no cholesterol, and CALCIUM). I'm going to make this with some mashed sweet potatoes and green beans, it'll be like I'm at a "steak house" :P.

  • does it have to be peanut oil?

  • @asdfgerhjkl You can use regular vegetable oil as well :)

  • Oh my god, I JUST made this, boy, it WAS DELICIOUS!

  • can you substitute the eggs? :(

  • @asdfgerhjkl Another viewer suguested "egg substitutes such as Ener-g from health food stores. No egg beaters etc. (they are not vegan). u can also make ur own by mixing one tablespoon of soy flour or arrowroot w/ two tablespoons of water." :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Tyvm, btw I have never had tofu before and this looks like a great recipe to try it with! :D im hoping to try some tofu soon

  • Yum. Looks really tasty.

I have a question. Today, I bought some tofu, (im a newcomer vegetarian) I didnt cook a slice very long, and it was all ... ehm... "gooey" but firm... Can tofu harden up?

  • @VENOM10299 There are different types of tofu - silken, firm, and extra firm. The regular extra firm is the hardest and best for slicing and stir frying :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Ohh ok. I just made this yesterday AND around 40 minutes ago. Boy, it's delicious!

  • looks good...

  • I love her accent. Is that Texas?

  • I made it yesterday . It was delicious! Thanks.

  • just saw it and made it for lunch. it was wonderful!! thank you so much! :D

  • verry good.. i just made it... it was the first time cooking with tofu :D thanks

  • why is that the tofu that i bought is slimy? is there different types of tofu?

  • @ISmileSunshineforyou Yes, there is silken tofu and regular tofu. I'm thinking you may have the silken type. For this recipe I used regular firm tofu :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy oh thank you yah i think i should buy the firm one :) do you know ways you can cook with silken tofu?

  • @ISmileSunshineforyou I don't usually use the silken version in my cooking, but I know it's used in a lot of desserts and some sauces. It's also used as a substitute for eggs and cheeses in some vegetarian recipes as well :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy thank you lol i think i wanna try the firm one lol it would be nice if you do the siken one with desserts lol thanx again

  • can i use other than peanut oil? btw thanks for the great tutorial!!

  • @pspHackable You can use regular vegetable oil or canola oil. Thank you for watching and writing :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy ok!! your welcome and thanks again!!

  • Hey girl, I would give this a try. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial!

  • It doesn't only look delicious, it is delicious. I made it yesterday and served it with some white rice and wow! wow! Good. It is crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. For vegans just put some cornstarch with a little water and boil until it thickens and use this instead of the eggs.

  • Looks Yummy. People give tofu a bad wrap for nothing. Its really good.

  • i can't cook...well i can now...but i'm not known to be a good cook, but I made this yesterday and it tasted amazing! Thanks for the video.

  • im in love!!

  • I'm gonna try this tonight! This is helpful cuz I don't eat meat

  • u can purchase egg substitutes such as Ener-g from health food stores. No egg beaters etc. (they are not vegan). u can also make ur own by mixing one tablespoon of soy flour or arrowroot w/ two tablespoons of water.

  • i tried this and am eating this by itself as i'm typing, i must say; it's reeeeeeeally good! tastes like meat seriously~

thanks for the recipe..i didnt measure anything but it still turned out well :D

  • If I'm a vegan and don't eat eggs, do you have any suggestion of what I could use as a substitute?

    Thanks for the video, BTW!

  • The egg whites in this recipe both add texture and help to bind the flour coating. I actually don't know of a substitute that would not change the texture. I think the best thing would be to simply leave them out and just use the 2 tbsp of bbq sauce to bind the coating on :)

  • how if I don't have an oven?

  • The oven actually dries out the tofu and firms it a bit to give it texture. If you have a grill with a cover you can use that, but don't let the bottom of the pan get too hot :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy I don't have a grill with a cover either

  • love the tofu, and your high-pitched voice too. haha

  • looks bbq-licious

new to tofu (tofu-phobic i was)

from what i read it s a very good source of non meat non dairy protein which is my goal

if it tastes as good as it looks im a convert

can you prepare other tofu dishes too

    for us youtube viewers?

    thanks for this one ...

  • what did you do with the egg yolks?

  • I actually put them in a container and keep them in my fridge and try to use them for sauces and other recipes. But I do sometimes end up emptying out the container and throwing some out if they are in there for a while :)

  • Can I stuff these with meat? I'm a carnivore, well, an omnivore. I like the barbeque sauce idea. Could I stuff the tofu with pork, chicken, beef, or fish, then wrap it in bacon, or panchetta, coat with your flour mix and deep fry, then add the barbeque sauce? That would meet my high protein, high fat, greasy goodness quota for the week. Guess how much I weigh.

  • minor error, but there's a typo at 2:00. it's supposed to say 15 to 20* min.

  • Oops - Thank you so much for letting me know :)

  • you're welcome =) keep up with the good work, lila.
