I remember years ago, when the snow was still mushy from the rain just a day before, I was at my pre-school and this tune use to play on the last day before the Christmas Half-Term. As this tune was playing, my friends dared me to square dance with a girl, and me being an absolute twonk agreed. It was actually really fun, once people saw me and the girl dancing, loads of other people joined in xD. I think one of the teachers joined in too xD

Hey, Matatyt - somewhere there has got to be an album of Mike Oldfield with one of the folk woodwind players, like Paddy Moloney. The sound of the woodwinds is very Irish-sounding, like here in In Dulci Jubilo. I've only heard these tracks on college radio WHUS back in the late 80s. I could never find them anywhere else. It would be so cool if I could find them again!

@Matatyt - Thanks for that; that was my first listen to Ommadawn p2. It's NOT THAT, though! Ommadawn p2, at about 10 min in, sounds SO CLOSE to the style I heard. But that's not it.

I'll hafta find my files and put them in a video here. My guess is that Mike Oldfield did a compilation with one of the woodwind players, which is why I can't find it. I'll let you know when I get it online. Might take awhile ...
