IF you re-fit the push rods on the wrong rocker arms (they run from Fore & Aft buttons on top of the crankcase up to the head) the engine runs happily sucking air in the exhaust and dumping fumes into the cockpit..
Some of these start clockwise, some counterclockwise. This can be set by switching out the camshaft. They set them up one way or the other depending on how the engine is installed and the direction in which the prop must rotate.
I don't see how you could set up the engine to run the other way. There is only one type of camshaft available from the factory. And starting the engine can only be done the normal way, as the crank handle is loose when you turn it the opposite way. This is because otherwise the handle would spin around when the engine is running. There are no parts available to change that. And there are no electric starters available from the factory that will turn the engine the opposite way around.
Great engine got one my self, search for Sabb type G startup and you find it. You from Norway or Sweden? Anyway, when cranking you should stand on starboards side of the motor and use your left hand to crank and right to turn over the de-compression.
music to my ears :D!!

This engine sounds good and looks very reliable, if you keep her filters clean, she won`t let you down even under arduous conditions I guess.
