  • This may be true if your freezer is on the bottom. Our coldest shelf is on top so I guess your theory will not work for our fridge where the freezer is at the top.

  • The 2nd best tip I have learned for cukes. I just threw away 3 because they became soft after 5 or 6 days as they do most of time. Here's a tip also for ensuring you don't have a bitter cuke, I saw a chef do this 30 yrs ago and have NEVER had a bitter one since. Cut cuke in half unpeeled and then cut off 1/2 inch off ends and rub in a quick circular motion for 10 secs.s If there is a white residue around the end, wipe off that is the bitterness.This results in a sweet cuke. Crary but works
