  • いつ見てもおいしそう~に食べるね!

  • I went there on my last day in Tokyo which was about a week ago! But oh man they didn't have pumpkin when I was there! I so woulda gotten that flavor. When I went there, they had Seaweed, Apricot, Plain, and I forgot the other one. Anyways, OMG Agemanjyu is so so good. I ate a total of 4. x3

  • I'm actually wearing a Hanayashiki t-shirt right now, as I'm watching this. I bought it there back in the summer of 2006.

You make great videos, I like them a lot! Thanks for keeping them coming!

  • yeah thats one thing i dont like about japan, they dont hand me flyers or try to invite me in, its really annoying to be out-casted without reason other than the fact im foreign

  • wow! your icon is awesome, looks just like you, who drew it?

  • Thanks for the video! My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Japan and we're looking to stay in the tourist trap area. However, I am wondering what that word being shouted at you was and what it means. Thanks! ^_^

  • Which word and when? :-)

  • The word your were talking about starting at about 7:40, because you are not Japanese ^_^

  • The agemanjyu looks really good. I've actually made mushimanjyu (it's the steamed variety) and it was great! ^-^

  • Sounds good, but there's something unbelievably delicious about artery hardening agemanjyu. :D

  • aww dude lol i LOVE Asian food, whats that food that u eat the last 1? kinda looks like refried beans

  • At the very end there? That's called okonomiyaki. Specifically, Hiroshima style. It's like a pancake/omlette/pizza with cabbage, buckwheat noodles, sauce, and whatever else you can think of inside: Pork, cheese, shrimp, squid, you name it. More sauce on top, sometimes Chinese mustard, dried bonito flakes. Yum yum.

  • hahaha love the eating parts

  • Will keep that in mind if I ever do an eating compilation. :D

  • When I first came to Japan, I too got stuck without toilet paper. Once is enough to learn. So whenever I am going to an unknown area, I NEVER leave home without tissues~!

    LOL!

  • So true, so true. After so long living in middle of Tokyo I tend to slack off basic survival techniques. Need to put tissues on the checklist next time I head out of town.

  • Haven't been in Asakusa in years! Loved the vid.

  • Yeah, I was surprised I enjoyed making it so much! Even with the heat the agemanjyu goodness made it worthwhile.

  • Why don't you go to 吉原 sometimes? うへへ・・・I'm just kidding. I've been to some place like that in Dallas,TX loooong time ago. うへへ・・・^^; oops sorry...

  • あっ!?間違えた!

  • え?そう?w

Couple reasons I haven't actually gone inside any of those places.

First, general monetary rule seems to be that if you can't take a thousand dollars cash out of your wallet, set it on fire, and laugh, then you probably shouldn't be going to a soapland.

Second, whenever I've had a thousand dollars cash in my wallet I've thought of something else to do with the money. Go figure.

  • I'm very interested in your long story.

    Another Ken Tanaka? :O

  • Ken Tanaka's the real thing.

    I'm just a wannabe. ;)

  • Yeah I think I'm getting better at the YUMMY! reaction. :D

  • im intersted in yoshiwara..to check it out. sounds seedy and grimey.. just the way i like it. but i promise ill behave there. just to check it out

  • If you do walk through intending to film while you walk I recommend rigging a bag with a hidden camera. They seemed nice but something tells me they might not be cool with tourists taking pictures.

Interesting thing about Yoshiwara, reading into it. It's a lot about being classy, having good manners. Zoning laws keep them from expanding or rebuilding, so they do what they can with what they've got. Seedy on the outside, sure, but they pick you up at the station in a Mercedes.

  • i was reading that some of this BAthing assitance costs about 450,000 yen. in kabukicho, its a bit cheaper. its like a classy sex industry establishment. or so i heard

  • 450,000 yen sounds like a package deal with multiple women and small furry woodland creatures involved. Just under 100,000 yen is more typical for the expensive places. Or maybe 450,000 yen is what Dicaprio pays just for the private waiting room, who knows.

Lots of places cheaper than Yoshiwara, I'm sure. I figure you get what you pay for though.

  • YUP that was the thing i ate.. it was Pink and had that sweet bean taste.. some old lady i bought it from

  • YUP!! i been there. and i went inside the temple and saw everyone praying there hands to this Huge statue in there. and they sell these tasty little cakes on the side shop for 100 YEN~! i loved it there.. DAMn it. im going back to film a V log like yours.. good video

  • Hmmmm, beyond the beard, both the randomness of some videos and the happenings in the others make it all interesting. I'm glad I got directed to this channel hah.

  • Thank you! I'll try not to let you down. :-D

  • ahhh sopurando!!

  • Oooooh so that's what Soap Land is supposed to be haha. It all makes sense now.

  • Soaplands are... assisted bathing! Really!

    :D

  • Asakusa is koo...if ya wanna escape the west africans..they never go there..

btw those dougnut thingys are great! 24/7 niku soba!! simple and cheap..but great!

  • Asakusa for escaping the West Africans... Very true! Never thought of it that way.

  • Would you ever make a vid about your story of why japan? you moved there in 1996 but visited as a kid over 20 years ago,,, what called you there?

    okonomiyaki... i want!

  • Okonomiyaki you will LIKE! I promise!

Why Japan, why Japanese is a long story. Particularly because it involves a clerical error. I'll get to it eventually. :)
