no guide was involved, the guy recording this was my buddy that happened to be with me taking pictures that afternoon. He got a 30 second crash course on using the video cam before I began the 20 minute stalk.

Actually, I hunted this animal for over 3 months with 5+ unsuccessful stalks. Just to clear things up...I practice from 50 yards/meters a lot and felt 100 percent confident in this shot or I would have not made it!!

Every other time I tried to take this animal, I was in full camo and even belly crawled for 200+ yards (over 1 hour) and was never able to get an opportunity for a shot.

This particular afternoon we were out taking photographs of animals and accidentally got within 150 yards from the blackbuck and I said....heck, the wind is perfect, the topography has us blocked from his view, let me get my bow out of the case and see how close I can get.... The video tells the rest of the story.

now to jmj120. This place is 3000 acres and black buck have become native in the area over the last several years. And let me tell you that the deer on the ranch are not tame. they had been hunting for 2 days and nothing, they are good hunters. they were on there way out and saw this buck and just tried to see if they could get close. Getting that close with no camo there was some luck involved. Brian is one of the best archers ive seen and he can make that shot in his sleep.

in two days we walk well in excess of 15 miles doing spot and stock walking on top of canyons and glass the bottoms. on the way out we decided to get out and walk probably a little over two miles were we had been seeing some buck but never could get close. This time it was just pure luck that Brian was able to get that close. THAT IS WHY I POSTED THE VIDEO.

Ive have grown up on a large ranch my entire life and broker ranch property for a living,typically nothing under 1000 acres. So i understand how the the real rural America works.
