  • "SHUT IT!"

  • Alton Brown is a liberal who supports gay rights.

  • @kingdomofdalriada If that were true he wouldn't have so many episodes advocating being a real man and loving foods deep fried in oil. Libs (true libs) are miserable and thier misery greatly desires company.

  • @Shawshankdude2005

And you drew this conclusion from where... exactly?

  • @FrostbittenWolf Obversation

  • @FrostbittenWolf

If that's the case, something tells me your definition of "Libs" might be a bit off. That, or you're terrible at observation.

Either is possible. Or it might just be that everyone around you becomes miserable. I have a similar effect when i begin singing.

  • @kingdomofdalriada

    @Shawsnakdude2005

He's also said he keeps his politics to himself and he's annoyed by actors and actresses who talk about it.

  • Did Alton swear 24 second in?

  • The 2 people who disliked are jealous they don' have a chef's hat

  • Man, Alton looks like Wilford Brimley here.

  • I think this episode was probably pretty fun to make.

  • did someone call for a nutritional anthropologist.

  • Lol, Poor rusty got a time out D;

  • He always makes me laugh when he does go an act like he's someone else.

  • I'm in the UK and it was a mission getting hold of the ingredients but I made this chili yesterday and it was 100% worth it, best tasting chili ever! Had it on rice topped with cheddar, onion and sour cream! PERFECT!

  • "rusty...time out" *hides in corner* xD LOL

  • don't knock chili contests.

My gramp's recipe won 'Best of the West' at the church chili contest for 5 years in a row.

  • and some of the stuff i tasted at contests ... WHOO-EE those were tasty!

  • LOL at the part at the beginning about sticking a fork in it and getting what you expect.

  • Hahahah, I love how good eats can manage to slip a little adult humor into these episodes, but still keep them educational and family friendly.

  • Alton Brown's various characters are amusing, but I like it better when he's just himself. He is definitely my culinary hero.

And a huge thank you to LikeTheHat...thanks to your generous posting of Good Eats episodes, I am learning how to cook. I've learned pretty much everything I know from watching Good Eats on YouTube.

  • Alton Brown is the king of food infotainment. Thank you for uploading all of these great shows.

  • "Just break out your favorite campin' blender--I know you got one!"

  • 3:40

    Decaf is hell.

    I love Good Eats.

  • lol scotch bonnet..

  • "Kick things up another notch" hehehe...

  • rusty is the man

  • 7:04-7:26 If you look at AB's ears you can see the ear buds he uses to hear the script. He records himself saying it instead of using cue cards for those who didn't know.

  • bring chuck back to good eats!!!!

  • when did he leave?

  • well i just hadn't seen him in the last season.. but just saw him playing sweeny todd in the the shepards pie one.. so i was wrong

  • yeah, what the hell, was that a new one last night? It was pretty creepy. Widdi was on again.

  • ya know his name is Daniel Pettrow

  • yes, I've read the wikipedia article, for what it's worth.

  • i used to work at a whole foods, and that bit with "rusty" chatting up the lady isn't far off base. the place was a total hook-up spot for foodies.

  • I just noticed... In the grocery store, AB had a large buggy with Rusty sitting in it, then they randomly swapped to a tiny buggy that the meat went in.

XD I've seen this about 20 times and just realized that.

  • "a mixture of ground chiles. shut it!" lol

  • i like rustys hat too

  • Rusty? Timeout.

  • Where can I get Cascabel peppers? I don't see them anywhere.

  • grew up putting mashed tater's in the bottom of the bowl then put the chile on top try it

    good eats :)

  • i always lay down a bed of white rice for my chili

  • not only is he an amazing cook but he's also a pretty good actor :]

  • Actually Alton majored in acting during college

  • It shows!

  • @disneyrini23 Let's not forget the short time as an amateur director

  • i love cincinatti chilli which is a bit sweeter and milder myself but to each his or her own. I LOVE AB GOOD EATS for life

  • 9:52-:57 lol "shut it"

  • chili was not first made to make beans more flavorful.

when alton was making the chili powder, he was not crafting part of the chili dish. he was making chili powder, witch should have both cumin, and garlic powder in it

  • Alton needs to do this sort of episode again! I love him in a character role!

  • The fact at 7:35 is absotively disgusting

  • Better those, than Rocky Mtn. oysters.

  • I think I'd much rather eat bull testacles than bull eyeballs :P I hear they're quite delicious fried.

  • "profound broketatude" just love it

  • Who doesn't put chocolate in their Chili?!

  • Me, I put crackers and cheese on mine.

  • Actually chocolate in chili is delicious, try chicken mole, a mexican dish made of chocolate and chilis sauced on chicken, and no it doesent' taste like chocolate but the flavors synergize making it taste like awesome

  • Sucks for you :( *hugs*

  • *Shrugs* I don't mind not eating it.

  • BROKE BACK EOOD GEAT LOL

  • WHOLE COOMEN!

  • Folks from India also roast whole cumin. Note it was all ground up after. I would use a small spice(coffee)grinder. I also like coriander in my chili seasoning. You can toss coriander seeds in that pan & roast with the rest.

  • This is one of my favourite episodes.

  • I used to not like beans in my chili until I tried it with kidney beans. It was great, but I still like my bean-less chili!

  • I am a big advocate of beans in chili. If the whole premise of the episode is that chili is a food born out of humble cowboy origins, then beans certainly belong. Starchy food, with an infinite shelf life, easy to transport on the trail. Beans make sense with chili!

I do 1 pound of dried pintos with mine. Aside from that, I like most of what he says.

I also enjoy the part when AB's cowboy friend (his name's chuck, right?) shows up behind him at the grocery store with a bonnet. Hahahaha.

  • It's not just any bonnet. It's a tartan bonnet. A /Scotch/ bonnet. (Get it?)

  • Beans in chili? Blasphemy!!

  • Chili with an I, Beans Or Not Both Taste Pretty good

  • You mean both are "Good Eats!"

  • You Bet!

  • Man...ya gotta have beans in your chili! I use about 7lbs of Stew Beef, close to 2lbs of beans (various kinds) but he is right about the beer and adobo sauce...Mmmmm. I guess I'm just fanatic about my chili...mine costs me about $90 a pot and takes about 12+ hrs for me to cook...Ive never used pork and lamb though...might have to try that this year

  • "Sounds kinda like a rattle snake, gotta be careful." LOL.

  • Mmmmmmm chili!!
