  • je l'adore

  • i think this woman helps define what multikulti actually meanzs

  • I love to dance with this music! Natasha and sonique did best covers of this song. Love it!

  • Stunning version,Natasha you are incredible.....

  • amazing

  • @highschoolmusical841

I'm not a real specialist in world music, nor in Natacha Atlas. What I mean is that she probably worked very hard to become one of the most famous singer in the Middle East. This is especially remarkable as a woman. In a way she has encouraged many young feminine artists to trust in themselves. I also really like Souad Massi. I'll follow your advice and have a listen to Oum Carlsoom, too.

  • Natacha is showing a way for so many women in the world. Bless her.

  • heard this song when I saw the movie Divine Intervention and it caught my attention ever since.

  • Screaming Jay Hawkins should rise from the dead to punish this woman. He'd put a lot of voodoo on her, trust me.

  • This song is amazing..

  • As a huge cover fan, I can honestly say that this is one of the most bomb covers I've ever heard...totally original, super-badass and honestly, almost better than the original...awesome.

  • Kick. Ass. Tune.

  • Very nicely done!!

  • @CaptainSpry I agree. I think Screamin' Jay Hawkins had a great deal to be proud of by writing this song. It is arguably one of the greatest songs ever written. There are so many people who have covered this song all over the world. Fantastic achievement

  • This song was like sinking my teeth into an all American Burger marinated with Arabic spices...and let me tell you, it was very tasty...dare I say tastier than the original?!....can you tell I'm hungry?? LOL

  • AWFUL,..

  • Best cover of this song EVER!!!

  • Невероятно. Самое неожиданное исполнение легендарной песни.

  • @gvingm от такой талантливой певицы можно ожидать всего!

  • For purists I need to say virtue. OK?

  • Never mind if Natasha Atlas is oris not a Muslin, a Jewish, Sephardic, or Atheist. That's her own business. Her voice and her music is none of these. Her vertue is her singing so is the great orquestra and its musicians. I love it. Bravo! Oh! she does not need "accent reduction or improvement lessons". She is not looking for a job!

  • la la la la my ass...realy ridiculous version of a great song!

  • Ten or so years ago a Natacha intimate shocked me by saying: "Actually, she doesn't speak Arabic." Someone interrupted our chat, so I never found out how Tash managed on disc to sound convincing in Arabic. And her husband was, and presumably still is, a London muso called Abdullah - surely he woud have taught her good Arabic? Having spoken to this angel sent to spend time with we mere earthlings, I can tell you that her English accent is slightly upper-class. I can't comment on her French.

  • one of the best songs ever. i mean cover songs. i love it.

  • she's really good!

  • @LaoMinga

I agree ! You should be proud !

My comments were meant for homo-man and him taking other people's inventory when it cones to the English language..

There is nothing wrong with not speaking it well, but as with any language one should not scold others on that language if one does not speak it well to begin with ;-)

They prefer to perform live than have records and so they only have one record.

  • @elmudogolach This muzik and video have nothing to do with mexico

mexicans didnt even exist till the spainish raped natives! ugghhh wat a history

  • Lol..

    Homo..something ! ;-)

You really ought to speak better English yourself, before you start remarking on others.. Mmmk ?

You're attitude, self righteousness and your totalitarian claim to superiority is pathetic.

I am not English by birth, but I speak English AND another 7 languages.. I how ever do not go around yammering how great I am because of that..

Get a life ya douche !

  • @Embla2010

To be honest, I would be happier if I spoke better Arabic and worse English.

There was a time when I complained to others of their bad english, but these days, I admire them, cause they are patriots in their language. In my language, Finnish, people (the youth mostly) put all kinds of English words in their street language, and idolize everything American. So, to be able to speak Arabic in the middle of all that, I feel like a king, I'm so proud of my roots.

    Reply4Fun - That's me.

  • @LaoMinga it's not admirable to speak bad English. It is admirable to retain full versatility in your own language at the same time as speaking good English.

  • @flaze3

I was pointing out, that it's good to remember that anyone who speaks bad english, must be able to speak his native language admirably.

Politeness aside, even though English is the 3rd most spoken language by native speakers, and 2nd by native speakers and 2nd language speakers, also taking that most services in Asia, Europe and the Americas are available in English, I dislike it when people require others to speak English in the internet, if talking to someone else.

  • @flaze3 There is no international law that says that English is the universal language. Though I like the fact that as many people as possible understand my messages on the internet.

When I comment on Natacha, I use English because she has a lot of European fame, otherwise there'd be 50 languages going about.

When listening to Nawal Al Zoghbi or Latifa or some other arab or magreb artist, I use arabic.

When watching finnish comedy, I use finnish and discourage other finns using english.

  • @LaoMinga English IS an international language. You might as well say there's no law that requires gravity to pull. Anyway, as the internet is a huge international forum I see no harm in people using a standard international language (such as English) to communicate.

  • @flaze3 It may be that Spanish becomes more predominant. In which case it would make good sense for us all to learn Spanish! I can already communicate quite well in that language.

I'm not calling for the obliteration of other languages; I'm just being pragmatic with regard to communication.

  • @flaze3 International? Maybe in Europe and North America. Of course, because so many people speak english, it's often that vids regarding Id 'est the tension between the 2 Koreas is in english, not korean.

But it isn't that rare to see chinese in -waterproof- western songs.

But it's a very dull topic, no use in debating.

English is the A1 because of the US, EU, UN and the amount of speakers.

It might be that after 50 years in European schools, the A1 language might be Chinese or such.

  • @LaoMinga i totally agree that English is predominant because of happenstance. I wasn't suggesting otherwise...

My point was that it is not honourable or impressive to speak another language badly. I don't think my argument is all that contentious :p

  • @flaze3 Yeah I can agree with that. By saying that, forgive the bad selection of words. Sometimes people are too quick to judge other people who do not speak english.

  • 1:44 here i wanna dance

weelah weelah weelah weelah, wela wela wela wela

    فللللة الفللله

  • homo"sapiens" sa3ed's english is fine. At least he can speak some language. What an arrogance to comment on someone's language skills. As if we owe you to speak your language perfectly...

  • my mother always said ..if you can't say something nice...then shut the fuck up

  • Wow !!!! English with Arabic touch......

    very good

  • @Dashingzeb Actually it's Arabic with an English touch :o)

  • @Opiate1969 Lolz.. Agreed :-)

  • the scratching is by DJ AWE from Senser

  • jolie chanteuse

  • great version go see"i put a spell on you"dance routine.

  • i am a maroccan!!! i living in france and i like natacha and Nina simone!!!! the diference make te force!!! ;)

  • she simply has an awful voice, below average voice, and her only claim to fame is that she can swing her hips and twist her ankle. and i like her too for that. i just rather she kept her mouth shut and stayed away from songs like this

  • Sa3ed..your English is very very weak....you need more lessons in English and more lessons in Music.....Natasha's Music and Bellydancing , surely, express something.....but one like you can never read beyond the lines.........Natasha is Multi- dimensional....she symbolises the Marriage of Heteroclite Musical Moods.......do you know what Heteroclite means ??......Advice : Read more philosophical and psychological approaches......May god bless Natasha !!!.....NAFC (Natasha Atlas Fans' Circle )

  • hahah who cares about you'r "profesional" oppinion... the sence int yhe perfermance is the important topic dude ;)

  • hahahaha.....haha....For God's Sake !!! What's this ???........Who cares about your poor English ??,............Please, I advice you to go to a Prominent English school.....Work hard.....very hard.....by so doing, you may embellish your English !!!.The Sooner The Better.......Good Bye !!!

  • Hahaha...could you sing in French or in Arabian as well as she sings in English ????????

  • Dear Mannyala 1 : I can sing in Arabic French and English...but you....What can you do ??...Nothing special !!..Nothing at all !!..My Advice to you..Gentleman's Advice : - People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...!!!..The next time : Don't ask what others can do for you...ask what you can do for others..........is it clear ??

  • excuse me man? soo what u have voice like natasha atlas or what?so what i speak three languages too but it doesnt mean that i can sing good on all of them.U shouldnt bee soo proud by the way u know nothing abaut this woman so how can u say she cant do anything?have u met her???

  • @homosapiens500 well said, brother! in my country they say - you are as many men as many languages you can speak! nationality don't mean that much when you can absorb multiple cultures and multiple languages!

  • @homosapiens500

It is odd that you feel so confidant in putting down other peoples use of English, when you write with excessive amounts of full stops, question, and exclamation marks and not in complete sentences.

  • @homosapiens500 I suggest that, if you feel it necessary to criticise any person or persons for their (poor) grasp of the English language, you proof read your own diatribe... 'I advice..' Really? You advice? Personally, my advice to you is get you head out of your arse.... You have now been advised. You idiot.

  • @bionicbela .........Idiot is not Meee..........The Idiot is youuuuuur Mother's AssHole...!!!!!

  • @bionicbela I just .loved. this reply =X

  • @bionicbela haha, calm down, homo500. Everyone likes to criticise other other people's English. It's the fashionable thing to do, dint cha know?

  • I merely expressed my view, you ought to chill a bit, am not after personal feuds here You are right: i need more lessons in Music, philosophy and psychology... but that would not be for the sake of analyzing Natasha's musical genius.

PS: since you mentioned Psychology, I would love to hear what Freud has to say about you belonging to a NAFC.

  • @sa3ed

Freud would just be grumpy (or indifferent) about it, as with most things.

  • Sa3ed..1. Thanks for answering me..It's a chevaleresque attitude.2. As you know, We are bound up with not only similitudes but also with differences..it's normal to be different either in Views or in other things 3. Freud ( May God Bless his Soul ) is already Dead...so, how can he express his viewpoint..??...Maybe by Bluethooth ( it's a High Tech !! ).hahahaa !!4. What matters above all is not our Friendly War..What matters is :Together, we provide New Spirit to this Site..do you agree ?.......

  • you fail.

  • PS2: you sound like a knobhead

  • Bollocks brudda

  • @sa3ed

accepted... I think Eric Burdon and John Fogerty would both like to hit her with a pie as well... and god knows what Screamin' Jay would've done... (!)

  • why n.simone..this is a screamin jay hawkins song

  • Qué musica tan sublime

  • who can tell me who sing i put a spell on you please!!!

  • Creedence Clearwater Revival

  • thank you!!!! merci beaucoup!!!! ;))

  • originally Screaming Jay Hawkins

  • @manelita, the original is by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, but there have many covers, the animals, creedance clear water revival, marylin manson and many many others

  • oh, i am sorry, this is awful, especially that "yo, yo, yo" part...

  • i love it !

great cover ! natasha atlas is a great artist

  • This song is so good that it can be covered in many different ways and sound great each time. Love CCR's version, enjoyed this, too. We don't all have to carbon copy each other all the time.

  • she was born in brussels in belgium, origins : egypt, morocco and palestine. she is really good!! good musician

  • arabic is sooo beautiful

  • this chick has got soul but totally misses with this number.

her styling is off-point and she doesn't seem to get to the heart of the lyric or the melody.

just putting an arabic beat on top of it doesn't automatically make it interesting.

  • You have to listen better, this lady is fantastic musician

  • @dvaculiky FANTASTIC MUSICIAN, BUT SHE SHOULD NOT TRY WITH LEGENDARY SONGS,... :-(

SHE IS VERY VERY GOOD WITH HER SONGS, BUT HERE ,.... :-((

HOWEVER COMPARING GIVES MORE CREDITS TO CCR.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR.
