I love Dave, and have loved his music since the late 90's. Don't get me wrong I fully advocate people having an opinion on the ways of the world, but I find it a little mis-guided to preach about tree conservation whilst holding a DM signature acoustic made from exotic Brazilian Rosewood. I didn't get much from the Dave Matthews Band; seemed to be too busy for me. When I saw DM and Tim Reynolds' show in New York on tv it changed everything. I listen to that show, or others of theirs, at least once a week. What an energy they have together.

@lbap94 Time plays(at that time) was playing a 93' D-35 Martin and Dave is playing a HD-28V Martin I think. I've always wondered why Dave plays Taylor strictly. I think Taylor makes gorgeous guitars too but I think Martins have better sound and tone. Maybe Dave signed a contract with Taylor to pay him to use their products who knows.

yea bro it's a metal or glass tube that slides over you finger... called a "slide"... but it doesnt distort the sound... that bend in the string creates that sound the slide let's you slide between notes and tones of the guitar more smoothly without a finger (against the string) friction sound... long explanation but there you go.
