I said it before and I'll say it again; this was worth waiting 35 years to see again. If you were a "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" fan you know what I mean!
@aiken1 Well, Mary Hartman was dead too. I used to watch that show when I was a kid and I experienced my first case of genuine depression from it. It had no laugh track, dim lighting, odd story lines and Mary seemed to be nursing a serious case of the blues.I used to dread that opening sequence where the woman shouts 'Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman!'
@ritter89 Yeah, if this show were on today the viewers would clearly see that Mary had a mental disorder. But I guess in the 70s she was just like the strange lady down the block and her "antics" were weird but adorable to them. Sorry for you trauma.
I just got the Norman Lear collection and saw Mary Hartman for the first time. STRANGE! I grew up with this sketch, so that's all I had to reference it. I'm so glad to see it again on youtube! Carol and friends did these characters perfectly!!!
Wow, this is the first time I've ever laughed at Carol Burnett. Normally I think she's downright cheesy, but this skit was the funniest skit of hers I'd ever seen!
I remember tying my Teddy to my stomach and running around my house peeka booing my family.

Only Carol can successfully parody a satire. Is she God or what?

Mary hartman would have been much better as a comedy rather then satire.

This is better than the original show ! If Carol and crew replaced the cast of Mary Hartman, they'd still be on the air today. Hilarious !!

This is one of my favorite Carol Burnett skits. I'll never forget how Tim Conway "peek-a-boos" the police from the kitchen sink! :)
