Balowin: welding your spider gears is a terrible idea if you have a low grade rear end and if you want to drive it on the street. your wheels will skreetch and drag when youre turning. you will blow up your dana 35 if you weld it. do not do this on your daily driver. if you trailer your rig weld the shit out of both axles.
@Balowin Pros:constantly locked(drifting,track car only), no slipping, cheap if you have everything and the tools.
Cons: Constantly locked brings too much attention on a daily driver and wears tires fast. Eventually you will get annoyed if it is your dd.
If you are serious about tracking a car then don't weld it. Get a limited slip differential. Stay away from viscous limited slip differentials as they wear out fast.
