Sodder Sucker? It's the English language, so it seems only proper that English natives should decide how it's pronounced. O.k, I'm Engish and I can tell you that the 'L' is pronounced. It is definitely sol....der. All you Yanks get over it and start speaking correct English or you will get a slap.
I looked it up in the Encarta Dictionary and it is pronounced "Soder" here in the states. For you being an foreigner your dictionary may have it pronounced another way. How come you don't say Col - o - nel for colonel. Honestly get over it people! Who cares how one says it as long as you know what they are talking about!

@28019ab you can pronounce it both ways, the British version is solder, but you can also say sodder if you feel the need :P
