  • i've got a haze combo, if i hook it to a 4x12 it'll pretty much be the same but with more headroom? or is there more to it?

  • The Haze sounds beastly i shall check it out tomorow \m/

  • I didn't notice your socks untill I spent 5 minutes trying to catch that message.

  • STOP LOOKING AT MY SOCKS XD XD XD XD XD

  • STOP LOOKING AT MY SOCKS!!!

  • Hey chappers, sick video :)

Do you think the haze can cope with metal, like high gain tones, if used with a boost/OD pedal, or is it not that sort of amp? Cheers, Charlie

  • Does the clean stay clean at high live volumes?

  • Chappers i know this is kinda old but, are you running any boost pedal in front?

  • O' GREAT MONKEYLORD!!! Is the Marshall Haze good for Metal??? Would it fit for playing songs by Mastodon???

  • How would you say the Haze compared to say that JVM or a JCM900? I cant help it.... But your socks are distracting.

  • @BigBadBlues85 umm i think haze is a low end tube amp from marshall, whereas the jvm and jcm are higher end (and higher budget)

so if u dont care about the price, its gonnna be the jvm or jcm

  • would this be louder than say a crate flexiwave 120h? both will be through a 4x12 cab

  • would this be louder than say a Crate FlexiWave 120H?

  • Rob what type of mic do you use for the video on the cabinets? and what kind of cam do you make your videos at home with? thanks..

  • what's the difference between the combo MA and the combo Marshall Haze 40?

  • chappers, love your stuff, but just curious as to why you changed from orange to marshall? i actually went the other way, found my orange AD30 slays the stock marshalls that ive come across (except for this killer little reissue combo i tried a while back), but was wondering what it is about marshalls you prefer?

    peace

  • lol stop looking at my shocks:P

  • I live in a constant state of indecision regarding putting a humbucker in my strat or keeping the single coils. also, I fear zombie attacks. this vid just reminded me of both said inner struggles.

  • He never looks at the fretboard, very cool man.

  • great game trying to stop the vid on the "stop looking at my socks" part

  • Hi Chappers, this isn't about the ML1, although I will be getting an ML2 *wink wink" so please answer my question haha). I'm thinking about getting the Haze 40 combo, and I want to know (because I love warm leads and generally warm tone) how does the Haze handle some lovely smooth leads? I will be trying it, but I wanna know how it compares to other amps like for example a JVM...just for pure lovely good 'warmness'...appreciate any help mate. \m/

  • Nevermind Cock rock Chappers has got sock rock!

  • dont look at my socks?

  • did marshall give u the mini amp in the background? lmao

  • ha stop looking at my socks lol

  • Hi, can you tell me the differences between the Haze 15 and the Haze 40 please?

I know obviusly that one is a combo and the other dont... I know too that there are difference in the valves, boost switch, effect loop... but i have no very clear if the haze 40 has more "power" than the haze 15.

What do you recomend to me? haze 15 or haze 40?

Thanks !!! and sorry about my English... I'm from Argentina :D

  • not just normal danger but "fuckin danger" :] lethal :]

  • can't wait for the next chapman guitar, and i would love a strattype guitar from chapman

  • i wasnt looking at your socks ;)

  • stop looking at my socks

  • man i love that 85 anniversary amp!

  • i will not stop looking at your socks !!!! haha great a hidden message !!!

  • but I love looking at your socks!

  • i most certainly will not stop looking at your socks Chappers!

  • that's the best i have heard a Haze sound on youtube

  • whats the volume at in this clip?:)

  • @RobChappers I refuse to stop looking at your socks.

  • Stop looking at my socks ha great!

  • alright tht guiitar looks kick ass how much are they sellin for

  • @tjbwhatshisface 299 GBP + shipping

  • straight in or ome shit in the middle?

  • Haze is cool But I need the 85th combo in my life!! and my house

  • Hey chappers, Umm i have a question, The ML1, I would be interested in one, with the standard pickups that come with it, can they handle metal? and Clean?

  • You rock, Mr Chapman....great demo...you're a 1000 watts of fucking danger. :)

  • stop looking at my sox

  • hey i seriously cant decide between a haze or the class 5 plz which is the better deal?

  • are marshall amps bright sounding?? cheers..

  • dude, asking someone how something sounds is nothing compared to hearing one yourself, and if when you hear it you dont know if its bright or not, no offence but you aint ready to spend marshall kind of prices on an amp.

  • @Hughespipe mate i can tell a bright sounding amp from a warm sounding amp my last marshall amp was a bit on the bright side but it was solid state so now im looking for a all valve amp that are warmer due to the valves true??

  • thats right mate. in most people opinions valves yield a much warmer, richer sound and in valve amps, if you ignore the gain controls and get the distortion purely from high volume levels, although you wont get as much gain it will be incredibly organic and lovely sounding.

  • yep thats what im looking for but something i can use in the bedroom, im torn between a few amp. like the blackstar ht5 the marshall class 5, the peavey classic 30 and the line 6 spider valve or lastly the marshall dsl401 but its a fuuucckkking mine feild!! lol cheers mate..

  • The only advice I can give you is that once youve shortlisted a few like you have, just ring around stores, see who has them and just go and try em out for a good amount of time. Make sure you play them at a volume that you would use in your house so you get a good idea of how each sounds at a practical volume. All of those are great amps so just try them all and dont be embarrassed if you go into a store, try an amp for 3 hours then leave without buying anything . I do it all the time!

  • yep thats the thing about going to a guitar store that puts people off i think theres some pressure on people to pull off some crazy shit on the geetar or atleast it feels like that when you have the helpers breathing down your neck haha..think thats what im going to have to do il pick a day and go with a mate who knows a bit more than me and have a go with the amps on my list..they must love you in the shops to go to lol..thanks for the pointers mate cheers...

  • hope you enjoy whatever amp ya choose!

  • @fretboarder

    Forget the Marshall Class 5.

I was drooling over getting one and had the guy in the local music store play through one. Man it completely blows away my 15Watt MG15FX solid state amp.

Honestly the Class 5 is way, way too loud for bedroom use. 5 Watts Class A valve amp does not necessarily equal good for bedrooms. Plus the volume has no gain so to get the it break up and give it that Marshall rock tone you need the volume up high.. Deafening in a shop so punctured ears for you.

  • @chymist66 hi mate..yeah thats what was putting me off, i managed to find a marshall dsl401 used for the same price as the class 5 new 300 quid in perfect condition its hardleys been used its got everything i need full tube sounds amazing compared to solid state..

plus its got a master knob so i dont have to have it deafanin to get a good tone in my room..cheers mate..

  • @fretboarder

On the class 5 front.... that thing defies the laws of physics.... to anybody out there who is thinking of buying it.... you must try it out first otherwise you could be well disappointed. It has a huge sound.

I thought I could fart louder than 5 watts..... how very wrong I was.

I tell you what sounded good though for bedroom use I tried a Laney VC15-110 Great classic rock valve break up at any volume with its separate gain / drive volume control. DSL401 rocks my friend!

  • @chymist66 yep i got a marshall dsl401 for the same price of a class5 its fookin amazing..!! cheers mate:)

  • I prefer the combo!!!

that's the tone I like to hear.

  • chappers*

    spelling fail xD

  • cheppers i really need to know this my lead guitarist is thinking of getting a haze 15 head and a 2x12 cab

do you think that it would be able to compete with my laney lh20 with a 4x12 ?

    thanks

  • Hi mate, yes that will be fine - the Haze is really loud

  • @RobChappers can the guitar be shipped to Philippines? I want one badly. I did reserve an ml-1 through your site c:

  • @MrTomZombie sry but i´ve heard that the haze isnt that good.if you want a hard rock or metal sound i would prefer a engl

  • Stop Looking at my socks :P

  • isn't the haze 15 watts?

  • The more I hear of this amp the more I like it so i just bought one. The new Fender VM 40 watters sound great too. I'll pick up on one of those after x-mass. to to buy toys for other people for awhile.

  • Could I get a pair of them smokin' blue socks with an ML1? I couldn't pay any attention to the guitar I was so freakin' on those socks.

  • 0:53 stop looking at my socks.

    ahahahaha

  • i will buy an ML1 if it has two dimarzios and a bare knuckle, that would be a kick ass combo. btw why does EVERYONE notice your socks?

  • definetly carve your face into it.

  • Are the socks an intergral part of the review technique ?

  • wow intro has some sick ass shredding CHAPPERS!!!! ARGGHH!!

  • Dude, sorry for looking at your socks, hahaha

  • Hey Rob! Could you teach us how to play some Steel Panther songs now that you have your brand new signature guitar? :)

  • Comment removed

  • so you're a marshall endorsee ? i see the class 5 , the haze , and the JVM *_* great gear man , and great tone ;)

  • I love the ML1 the pickups are awesome, I don't care what all your infinite wisdom says haha just kidding :P

Love your style, Chappers for life, and soo sooo English it's awesome,

    I'm thinking ML1 purchase soon hopefully :)

  • What about the bridge in the ML-1? I noticed you haven't bothered with the whammy bar yet. Is the idea it's a nice nice sounding Strat-type bridge, but don't expect much?

  • Comment removed

  • Stop looking at my socks!!

  • hey chappers i just noticed that the little volume knob in the intro behind Chapper's Reviews goes to 11 ;) badassness man.

  • I need a new pair of monkey pants. Damn it thats one TASTY GUITAR!!!!!!!!

    Yum

  • "Big Trouble In Little China"

    Awesome poster!

  • i wasnt looking at you socks

  • Awesome, the Haze is quite impressive sounding with the ML1!

  • That guitar is a tasty piece of ass!

    Any confirmed price yet?

  • Thanks mate, yeah it will be roughly £290 - definitely under £300 ;-)

  • what pickups are on this beast?

  • El cheapo pickups according to the Monkey Lord himself.

  • Stock.

  • @RobChappers in US dollars that is?

  • Waiting For the 3 Demo! Do it with some Metallica and Pantera Licks with a Mid-Scooped Distortion!

  • Dude ...where's my guitar dammit?? I guess I should pay for it first. So stoked to get the ML1. I'm snagging the Class 5 as well and throwing a Blackstar DistX in front of it and I'm going to chug until your lower intestine's explode....cause that's what the Verbius does!!!

  • stop looking at my socks...

  • I would love to see you carving ur face into the ML1 lol

Might be painful to watch if it goes horribly wrong tho =/

Oh...And how good does it feel sayin "I'm Rob Chapman from Chapman guitars!"?

Must be rather Exhilerating to say the least =D

    \m/

  • SUBLIMINAL SOCK ADVERTISING!

    Bahahahahaha Nice video Chappers!

  • Rob, you probably can tell me something about the fast picking. I see you doing that sometimes. I have problems with it; I feel like my left hand is OK, but the fast picking is very hard. What to do?

  • PRACTICE LIKE FUCK!

    \m/

  • masturbate 4 times a day

  • k...i still suck but i jack off a lot :D

  • hahaha, then just carry on doing that and practising, and then expect a call from sharon osbourne in the near future ;)

  • You rule man. Keep it up. I will contact you in the near future. Hails!

  • dude you looked so happy being able to say "I'm rob chapman from Chapman guitars"

Keep rocking dude... see nice people do come out on top ^_^

  • hey man, that guitar looks awesome! what kind of guitar does it remind of? fenders?

  • you changed the volume and tone domes lol ^^

  • god that guitar looks like it's ready to become a horrifying monstrosity.

route out the body for 4 humbuckers, specifically DiMarzio X2Ns, take a fuzz pedal, rip it's guts out and install it in the guitar, remove the volume, tone, and pickup selector, and wire all the coils together in series creating the ÜberBucker

rip open the control cavity and install a metal plate on the top for mounting the fuzz pedal

  • insert Evil Laugh Here

  • Hey Chappers, can the ML1 play metal? Could you demonstrate in a video please? : )

  • if i had a ml1 i would change the bridge to a original floyd and change the pickups to emgs or seymore duncan ; )

other than that its so sweet :)\

  • was that little fast message 4 me?? XD lmao

  • stop looking at my socks i think

  • i know, i asked him if its 4 me cause last time i made a comment about his socks lol . i think it is 4 me XD

  • Sounding great man. Have a go on that Class 5 with it. You know you want to :p

  • i am loving those direct mounted pups!

  • Is the ML1 be available in only one color ?

  • stop looking at my socks

  • Hey Rob, wouldn't there be a significant volume drop between the humbuckers and the single coils?

  • Thats why you adjust pickup height. ;)

  • it looks likes a pretty sweet guitar, but i think the body looks to chunky. you should have some reliefs carved in the body where it meets the neck. kind of like a prs but do it up Monkey Lord style!!!

  • its screaming dude!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if u can get these out by christmas i will love u!

  • cool white socks.

  • nice socks man

  • dude, im loving that guitar! and the amp, ooft, so warm and nice, sounds so awesome

  • And if people aren't happy with the amount of gain from ther Haze at low volumes, surely a boost pedal or a good quality overdrive pedal would be the way forward?

  • But I can't stop looking at your socks!

  • Damn that Haze sounds nice!

The more I see this guitar, the more I want it! Roll on November.

  • that would sound sweet for hendrix or older satch. i love it.

  • haha hey chappers remember saying in one of your old videos about "plugging an orange amp into some marshall crap"? :D no offence in any way but just a funny coincidence:D

  • Ha ha.. Thank god Marshall bought out some awesome new amps ;-)

  • exactly!:D and congrats, the ml1 rocks! keep up the good work!

  • How about some Krank reviews?

  • chappers, your face at 0.49 is amazing.

i cant decide whether you've been gobsmacked by the force of win, or whether you were on the brink of drooling over the gorgeousness that is the AMAZING sound that is coming from that guitar there :)

  • and then a couple of seconds later you give this tiny smug smile because you know that whoever is watching this vid is jealous to the core.

  • sounds good..any chance of a demo of that class5 rob..tar

  • nice socks and i like looking at them...:)

  • Want. Still... I think an actual amp for my current guitar is probably a higher priority. I'm just running on Garageband's preset ones at the moment. =(

  • Comment removed

  • I would absolutely throw a Dimarzio AT1 in the bridge and Dimarzio Cruiser in the middle and neck position to make this my Andy Timmons style shred axe.

  • I love the fact that every time you say "Im Rob Chapman from Chapman Guitars", at the point of saying "Chapman Guitars" you get the biggest smile on your face hehehe.

Well deserved and congrats again buddy ;)

And i couldnt help it... for most of that vid i kept looking at your socks lol :)

  • Will this guitar be a limited run or will you keep selling it as long as there is interest?

I think I could have fun modding this blank canvas ;-)

  • that guitar is definitely epic win!!! I hope you decide to make a ML1-FR lol for us tremolo players! I want this guitar so bad!

  • I think you should have 2 3-way switches. Why? 1 for the bridge and neck pickup and the other for the middle. The middle switch would be off - on - just middle.

  • i like the way u thought of a "blank canvis"

  • rob im sorry but no i will not stop looking at your socks lol

    nice little millisecond message there

  • I would be cool for a 2 Humbucker coniguration on the next guitar. that would be cool.

  • Comment removed

  • How much is it gonna cost?

  • WHAT THE!!!??? 0:45 Was that a double string, octave pinch harmonic?? Holy crap!

Chappers, I'm looking into the Haze 15 stack. What would you say of the Celestion Marquis drivers in the cabs?

  • what brand are the pups?

  • hahaha, it took me a while to "catch" the message

  • I have to say your tone with the Marshalls is the closest to "Chappers Tone" that I've heard from you in a long time. :O

  • I fucking want one!

  • sweet color on the guitar. since its sorta black it'll look sweet if someone would add silver or white tribal and stuff to it :P

  • There is no doubt that that Haze small practice valve micro stack is the best on on the market but its a tad pricey £670 with both cabs for that i want a built in coffee maker and gum ball despencer

In vid 1 you mention it not being a Guild or something so will it just have Chapman on the headstock?

  • Soooo......

The question is Mr Chapman from Chapman Guitars, would you buy an ML1 ? ;-)

    Regards,

    Brad.

  • Well, they are nice socks.

  • The Marshall Haze 40 is the most affordable reproduction of classic rock sounds in my opinion. I would like to hear a skilled guitarist play some Hendrix licks.

  • Hah, "I'm Rob Chapman from Chapman Guitars." That will NEVER get old, and it looks like you're rather delighted to be able to say it :]

  • I'll buy one when it comes in a H-H config, Rob :).

  • What would a single cut ML-1 look like?

  • Probably the most hardcore Tele you've ever seen.

  • congrats chappers! I'm lovin the ML1, good luck with everything

  • "stop looking at my socks"

  • scallop em!

  • rob, I think you should do a video of the ML1 through the Class 5. I would LOVE to see how that sounds!

  • THE WIN COMMETH!

  • sounds great!
