when i open with archive utility, my minecraft.jar doesn't turn into a folder called minecraft. it turns into a minecraft.jar.cpgz and when i rename that to minecraft.jar and open it an error message comes up and tells me to check console for error messages. can you help me?

@jak12124 archive utility is preinstalled on your mac. if you dont have it try to find something that does that same thing off the internet otherwise reinstall your OS.

@girguy101 No you don't need to delete it. If the TooManyItems doesn't show up try pressing 'O' after pressing 'E'

Thanks, this was really helpful, although there is one unrelated problem. Since yesterday, I haven't been able to play online. Offline works just fine, but whenever I try to log in on the launcher, it just says "login failed". This is especially strange because I can log in on the website. Oh, and I tried playing in the browser, but it just crashes. I was just wondering if you had any idea, being that you're using a mac as well.

@TheLotharx The reason you can't play online is probably do to the servers "Bukkit's" not being updated. That means they still need to update all of the mods they have installed on the server. This can take as little as 2 days and as much as 2 weeks. And the browser problem is probably minecraftnet acting up. Hope this helps! :)
