  • I had one and it was terrible...took it back oin a box....now im a happy Gaggia owner...

  • *Part 3* The B 800 has more than average looks yet delivers less than average results. The problem is in the double wall filter that builds pressure in a chamber, squirts liquid through a tiny pin hole which makes the crema. But the flavor & body suffers. The filter clogs easily with gunk too. The Mr. C has a lighter pf but roomier double wall filter. It's pucks are dry, solid, better flavor extraction. B 800's filter basket is always a soggy mess so the extraction of oils & flavor is poor.

  • would you recommend this machine I have read reviews that say the coffee is rather cooler than ideal.

  • hi , check links on the right (on the description)

in my opinion this one is the best , almost everyday from few years i tested coffe from different places , still like coffe from ikea for example .... (ikea coffe machine cost about 5-6.ooo$) and BORK can do the same ;)

  • *Part 1*

Honestly, when I bought the Breville 800 and set it up on my counter my excitement was hard to contain. It was replacing my Mr. Coffee ecmp50 (pump) machine. The first shots I pulled were barely decent but not very good. I bought about $20 worth of 4 days old roasted medium & dark beans aged perfectly for espressos I was told. I gave them a sandy grind for the ppf. A half pound later and various blends I still pull only a decent shot. I was missing my $70 Mr. C! (to be continued...)

  • *Part 2* I set up my 'old' Mr. C emcp50 & used the same beans & grind as I did with the B 800. Taste was like night & day. Mr. C makes tasty espresso shots! Even the crema was darker, denser, not mottled with blonde spots. I couldn't believe it! I felt ripped off. Mr. C makes great soap bubbles in milk but no microfoam. B 800 makes silky foam like a pro. B 800's espresso is very hot. Mr. C not so much. B 800 looks great, foams great but the espresso is barely tolerable. So it's going back.
