In 1976, when I was 10, our family took the QE2 from NYC to Cherbourg, France. The trip took 7 days instead of the customary 5 because one of the screws was offline. What a great trip. The crew would put the clocks forward one hour every day at 5:00 am. R. Arnott was the Captain.
Wait, she's becoming a hotel?! Crap, I wanted to take a trip on her after my voyage on the QM2! >:l Oh well, like what Scrabble2x said, at least she won't be scrapped.
At least she won't be scrapped. AT least she'll be somewhere, in some form. :( I'm American and have traveled on both old Queens as well as the QM2 & QE2. They are the most ravishing things on the sea. God bless the old girl.
how long does it take to get there on the QE2?

More to do than you think on a ship...personally, I like it better cause you don't have jet lag, and it's just more fun!!

Most beautiful passenger liner ever built, with a similar sweeping grace as Concorde. British Modernism at its best. (QM2 has none of this beauty!)
