@penpa2005 what we're hearing is actual narrative writing. A 'real' story told in song form. You seem clueless about this particular style. Crystal wrote this song - torn from her heart - and I'd pretty much guarantee that she wasn't thinking of 'hitsville' when she first sang it alone in her hotel room with her baby boy. See, that's what the rest of US who relate to her hear. It tells US who she is...someone we can truly admire. Perhaps the likes of Lady Gaga and 'loud' is more to your taste?

reminds me of my mom years ago but now I'm older & smarter I know that I have control of how I feel about her. Still love her but still at an arms length....boudaries! It's sad but yet a comfort to see how many people are feeling the same thing...in time (trust me)..the pain turns to something else..not sure what it's called...but it's better than the hurt. Crystal didn't have the strongest voice of the girls on idol like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, or Jenifer Hudson but she may be the most talented female that's ever been on idol because she can sing well, play many instruments, and is one hell of a song writer. @TheJoslyn2009 You should watch the video; this song goes full circle with THE ABUSE STOPS HERE & at the end of the video she hugs her own son,.it's a song that is sad for sure but it is also helpful and shows empowerment..don't stay with the abuse and dont' pass on the abuse; 2 excellent messages! There is so much child abuse in this world that we could use a song like this to be their voices and nothave the subject kicked under the rug + it's a true story and you can feel her honest passion!

The proof came afterward when Crystal sold 58,000 to Lee's 39.000 (Lee the worst amount of sales of any winner or runnerup in AI history!) & Crystal is doing way better than Lee now. She has made an epic debut CD. Lee had 2 non-selling CD's b4 Idol and Live it Up is even worse then those. Crystal won in every way that counts, she rocks!!!!!!!

I love the acoustic version and the extra verse, Crystal and her guitar, however I also love the CD version; the song itself is remarkable, Crystal's vocals are always incredible; the fact that it is so personal and a true story is so sad. @kamkazeVX Both versions are beautiful but for radio the CD take is better because acoustic alone isn't that radio friendly for the most part. Very few people can pull it off like Crystal can but even so for radio more instruments tend to get more airplay. In any event Farmer's Daughter is going to get mega recongnition and win prestigious awards! Did you watch her video of this song on Youtube? It's powerful and without showing actual violence the message is clear: + positive ending. EPIC!
There's some people that cannot see outside the box. Crystal is destined for superstardom. Somebody does not have to be the next "pop princess" in the fashion of Katy Perry or Lady GaGa to be HUGE! All it takes is talent & Crystal has that hands down beyond either of the forementioned or anyone else in recent times. She is unstoppable with megatalent to back her up. And she it totally refreshing & unique; extremely gifted both vocally and as a songwriter. Her debut Cd is best debut on Idol!
It's ridiculous when somebody says Crystal would be upset because somebody doesn't like Lee's music. GET REAL! Cyrstal is in a new marriage, she is a hot, rising superstar who is doing fantastic, she was burned on Idol but supergraciuos nonetheless while Lee never personally complimented her music, she is doing WAY BETTER in sales and on the charts than Lee; busy busy not concerned in the least that somebody thinks Lee sings flat and is average. People love opinions only when they are theirs!

Lee is a sixty with a down arrow on rock and off the top one hundred on all other categories on Amazon.com. I have said from the start as did many others that the true winner in every way that counts is Crystal. That has been proven more than ever before. Idol has to change their voting system; it isn't fair to have unlimited calls for four hours straight because the only ones with the time for that nonsense are tweens and it ruins the real result. Landslide win 4 Crystal if one call apiece!
The fact that Crystal outsells Lee D proves that America has AGAIN made the wrong choice to elect a LESSER TALENT from AI.

She looks so pretty in it too! Yeah, I also think they should have kept the word fucking in the CD, instead it skips and you can tell they extracted it. OMG! Watching the video did help me to like the CD/studio version of Farmer's Daughtger more! Glad they kept the word "fuckin'" in for the video--though I don't understand why they then cut that word on the CD! Really? Are we still worried about that word? Nonetheless, some of the notes go up on the CD where they go down on this version and it bugs me. I'm sure I'll adjust. God she's so talented.....
@Faustkateer Crystal sounds amazing here and always! I love the acoustic version however I think she sounds KILLER on the new video; so powerful mixed with the images! On the CD she still sounds great. I realize there are people who adore the acoustic version but please understand that for a debut CD Crystal was much better off not making an acoustic version because it's not as powerful for radio play. I am positive this song is going to become award-winning and is beautiful in all versions
I so very much like this version and wish it had been the one used on the new CD! You must do a re-release of this, please, Crystal. Sadly, I am a luddite, that is, no downloads for me, so I'd pay another $14 bucks for a CD of only this song if it were available! This version has so much soul. Popping it up just made it lose it's realness (IMHO).

They have spoiled her already. Vevo's version lacks the bridge,and though live, doesn't approach this, the original. This is wonderful. Vevo = the great satan. This is Crystal at her absolute best.

@LitZena Amen! The judges/produces were trying to create some competition as Crystal was head and shoulders above the others so they amped Lee for three or four weeks. As you said Lee is average, but Crystal has IT! Only reason to watch Idol this season. She's a unique and special talent. Loved the early harmonica.

American idol was just a platform for her. by coming in 2nd, she still has her pick of recording labels without being bound to american idol and whatever kind of music they force her to sing. which is quite evident from lee's silly serendipity song.

@penpa2005 what we're hearing is actual narrative writing. A 'real' story told in song form. You seem clueless about this particular style. Crystal wrote this song - torn from her heart - and I'd pretty much guarantee that she wasn't thinking of 'hitsville' when she first sang it alone in her hotel room with her baby boy. See, that's what the rest of US who relate to her hear. It tells US who she is...someone we can truly admire. Perhaps the likes of Lady Gaga and 'loud' is more to your taste?

reminds me of my mom years ago but now I'm older & smarter I know that I have control of how I feel about her. Still love her but still at an arms length....boudaries! It's sad but yet a comfort to see how many people are feeling the same thing...in time (trust me)..the pain turns to something else..not sure what it's called...but it's better than the hurt. After all she is the women you call Mother, who gave you life, who made you the you that you are now.

@TheJoslyn2009 You should watch the video; this song goes full circle with THE ABUSE STOPS HERE & at the end of the video she hugs her own son,.it's a song that is sad for sure but it is also helpful and shows empowerment..don't stay with the abuse and dont' pass on the abuse; 2 excellent messages! There is so much child abuse in this world that we could use a song like this to be their voices and nothave the subject kicked under the rug + it's a true story and you can feel her honest passion!

The proof came afterward when Crystal sold 58,000 to Lee's 39.000 (Lee the worst amount of sales of any winner or runnerup in AI history!) & Crystal is doing way better than Lee now. She has made an epic debut CD. Lee had 2 non-selling CD's b4 Idol and Live it Up is even worse then those. Crystal won in every way that counts, she rocks!!!!!!!

I love the acoustic version and the extra verse, Crystal and her guitar, however I also love the CD version; the song itself is remarkable, Crystal's vocals are always incredible; the fact that it is so personal and a true story is so sad. You can always tell when Crystal sings this song that she is feeling it personally; she connects with people incredibly well being so open; did you see the video? It's amazing!!

@kamkazeVX Both versions are beautiful but for radio the CD take is better because acoustic alone isn't that radio friendly for the most part. Very few people can pull it off like Crystal can but even so for radio more instruments tend to get more airplay. In any event Farmer's Daughter is going to get mega recongnition and win prestigious awards! Did you watch her video of this song on Youtube? It's powerful and without showing actual violence the message is clear: + positive ending. EPIC!

There's some people that cannot see outside the box. Crystal is destined for superstardom. Somebody does not have to be the next "pop princess" in the fashion of Katy Perry or Lady GaGa to be HUGE! All it takes is talent & Crystal has that hands down beyond either of the forementioned or anyone else in recent times. She is unstoppable with megatalent to back her up. Cyrstal is in a new marriage, she is a hot, rising superstar who is doing fantastic, she was burned on Idol but supergraciuos nonetheless while Lee never personally complimented her music, she is doing WAY BETTER in sales and on the charts than Lee; busy busy not concerned in the least that somebody thinks Lee sings flat and is average. Lee is a sixty with a down arrow on rock and off the top one hundred on all other categories on Amazon.com. I have said from the start as did many others that the true winner in every way that counts is Crystal. That has been proven more than ever before. Idol has to change their voting system; it isn't fair to have unlimited calls for four hours straight because the only ones with the time for that nonsense are tweens and it ruins the real result. Also on Amazon Crystal is #5 bestelling Rock #8 Pop and #11 all music! Lee is completely off the charts on Pop and all music and well below #40 iwith a down arrow on Rock. There is no comparison: Lee is flat and average: Crystal is a remarkably tatlented charismatic singer/songwriter up there with Elvis and Janis!

My highest rated comment says Crystal was projected at 53,000 but the update is that first week she nearly reached 58,000, far higher than the original projection of 45-50. Lee's original projection was 40-45 & he went even lower than his lowest projection at 39,000, the second week he only sold 15,000! Cystal's second week remained strong with her reaching almost as much as Lee's first week sales! Crystal is hanging tight at #5 ROCK Amazon.com..& she will climb the charts no doubt,! LOVE HER!

@faustakteer I am glad you listened to the new music video..it's killer! I just love it and the images that go with it, so extremely well done and Crystal's vocals are just amazing!. She looks so pretty in it too! Yeah, I also think they should have kept the word fucking in the CD, instead it skips and you can tell they extracted it. I mean, seriously people, do you think for a split second anyone would blink an eye if Lady GaGa said fucking?! It just makes a more powerful point!

OMG! Watching the video did help me to like the CD/studio version of Farmer's Daughtger more! Glad they kept the word "fuckin'" in for the video--though I don't understand why they then cut that word on the CD! Really? Are we still worried about that word? Nonetheless, some of the notes go up on the CD where they go down on this version and it bugs me. I'm sure I'll adjust. God she's so talented.....

@Faustkateer Crystal sounds amazing here and always! I love the acoustic version however I think she sounds KILLER on the new video; so powerful mixed with the images! On the CD she still sounds great. I realize there are people who adore the acoustic version but please understand that for a debut CD Crystal was much better off not making an acoustic version because it's not as powerful for radio play. I am positive this song is going to become award-winning and is beautiful in all versions

I so very much like this version and wish it had been the one used on the new CD! You must do a re-release of this, please, Crystal. Sadly, I am a luddite, that is, no downloads for me, so I'd pay another $14 bucks for a CD of only this song if it were available! This version has so much soul. Popping it up just made it lose it's realness (IMHO).

I would also have liked the full song but they had to shorten it some on the CD, too. Have a great night, again It's America and thank goodness we all can have our own opinion. Crystal is a brilliant artist; even the detractors admit she has a beautiful voice. She'll definitely be a huge star!

@genre313 This is absolutely beautiful however her new video is absolutely beautiful, too. It wasn't exploitive because it didn't show violence and yet powerfully got the message across and Crystal sounded amazing there and here. I really don't get why people have to keep nitpicking about Crystal, she is absolute perfection, a brilliant singer and songwriter who will SOAR! The video is amazing and important! In this industry you can't constanstly to acoustic versions. She always sounds great

They have spoiled her already. Vevo's version lacks the bridge,and though live, doesn't approach this, the original. This is wonderful. Vevo = the great satan. This is Crystal at her absolute best.

Crystal was the best in that season. This is singing competition and she was the best!!! The guy who won the title - its not because of his performance nor talent, but because of little girls (and grown up girls who refuse to grow up) who vote like 2000times for him - after they witnessed how he was clobbered in ALL 3 ROUNDs in the finale!! Bail out.

@loulovepigs The ONLY reason Lee won American Idol is because tweens dialed 2,,000 times apiece for 4 hours straight! Speedialing went totally wild particularly because Lee bombed on all 3 songs finale night and Crystal was absolute perfection! Nope, his music isn't more popular. Guess what? He had the worst AI sales in history wtih 39,000 and Crystal projected at 53,000. Lee is also almost entirely off the charts. There is no comparison because Lee is average and Crystal is brilliant!!

@LitZena Amen! The judges/produces were trying to create some competition as Crystal was head and shoulders above the others so they amped Lee for three or four weeks. As you said Lee is average, but Crystal has IT! Only reason to watch Idol this season. She's a unique and special talent. Loved the early harmonica.

American idol was just a platform for her. by coming in 2nd, she still has her pick of recording labels without being bound to american idol and whatever kind of music they force her to sing. which is quite evident from lee's silly serendipity song.

@ShovAce I don't think it's fair to compare them...theyare so different in the way they sing and they were both extremely talented the reason lee won was because the type/genre of music he sings is more popular so although, crystal bowersox is just as talented as lee dewyze her genre of music just isn't as popular
